Qualifications: The Tax Department is seeking to hire a Senior Analyst. Candidates must demonstrate that they have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or in a related discipline plus a minimum of five years work experience in accounting or tax with a major company or public accounting firm. The successful candidate must also demonstrate that he or she has extensive experience working with Microsoft Office applications and strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Proficiency with company systems including TSO, IMS, CARE, and Impromptu preferred. Work experience in one or more of the following a plus: fixed asset accounting, tax and/or book depreciation, tax regulation related to capital recovery, income tax accounting and compliance.

Responsibilities: The Senior Analyst is responsible for the preparation of the annual tax depreciation deduction taken on the CEI and affiliated company’s federal and state income tax returns. Prepares depreciation related tax forms and supporting schedules for all income tax returns. Provides advice and counsel to income tax accounting staff in the preparation of tax depreciation related journal entries and assists in the reconciliation of related accounts. Reviews and analyzes all CEI and affiliated company’s book transactions affecting depreciable plant and makes necessary adjustments to tax records in conformity with federal and state statutory requirements. Responsibilities include the review of tax laws and regulations changing the determination of tax depreciation and the operation and control of the tax depreciation system. Gathers analyzes, and supplies data related to tax depreciation to the Corporate Budgeting Group, IRS, state and local tax authorities Department of Public Service and internal and external auditors upon request.. Other core responsibilities involve preparing tax depreciation forecasts for book accruals, budgets, rate cases, and tax refund or savings proposals.

Must be willing and able to travel within the Con Edison service territory.
