Certifications in Engine Repair, Electrical and Brakes (or equivalent industry and/or major manufacturer's certifications)
A valid driver's license (CDL License is preferred)
Successful candidate must also be able to diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs on all types of company vehicles, and must have the knowledge and hands-on experience in repairing systems such as drive trains, hydraulics and coolant.
This candidate must also be able to obtain applicable certificates of fitness from the NYC Fire Department and must pass a written test, performance test, interview, driving test and practical test to qualify for the position.
If you accept a job offer in association with this posting, you will be assigned to any of the operating areas of Transportation Operations (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, or Westchester).
Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to perform heavy manual labor (push, pull and lift 45-60 Ibs.), extensive walking, climbing and standing, driving, and working in/on/under all types of company vehicles.

Job Requirements: Seeking a highly motivated and talented candidate to join our team. The successful candidate must have an AAS degree in Electrical Technology or completion of an equivalent certificate program is required for this position. The selected applicant must have good oral and written communication skills, demonstrate an ability to interpret electrical and mechanical plans, and have mechanical and electrical technical abilities. Must also have knowledge and understanding of computers, communication circuits, power systems, digital/analog circuit repair, telephony, mobile radio, microwave radio, and fiber optic communication systems. Experience with bench repair of two-way mobile radio equipment, relocation of telephone equipment and fault isolation and splicing of fiber optic cable is helpful. The selected applicant will perform maintenance and repair necessary to support the Company’s radio communications systems, microwave radio and fiber optic communications network. Primary job functions include, inspecting, testing, fault isolating and performing corrective and preventative maintenance on digital, analog and microprocessor based equipment. Will coordinate additional support with internal and external organizations. Must be available to work overtime on an emergency basis.
Skills: Open Magic trouble tickets with local telcos for backhaul T1 circuits; track and manage trouble to resolution; support Preventative Maintenance of iDEN radios and electronic subsystems at EBTS sites; perform Receive Sensitivity and Power Output measurements on iDEN radios; optimize EBTS power plant; check Integrated Site Controller satellite EBTS and verify fail-over to the redundant controller when primary fails; help optimize and maintain the Con Edison iDEN network; work with the Con Edison’s MSO analysts to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; support Interference Evaluation & Mitigation Program; test and turn-up new EBTS sites; participate in Drive Tests to evaluate RF coverage & interference, new version downloads and hand-off in and out of cells; assist with site Development for Special projects.
iDEN knowledge (desired but not mandatory): iDEN system overview; EBTS installation & maintenance; radio link optimization strategies; RF interference; iDEN planning and technical support for new equipment evaluations; site configurations and modifications; cellular site design to meet coverage, capacity, and operation and network performance objectives; basic in-building and tunnels designs using coax & fiber Distributed Antenna System (DAS); basic macro and micro-cells; basic frequency planning.
Physical Requirements: This position requires manual dexterity, ladder climbing, walking, standing, bending, lifting, stooping, and kneeling, as well as sitting for extended periods of time. The nature of this job requires the ability to push/pull/lift equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. Applicant must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. The selected candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to locations as required.

Job Requirements: Qualified candidates must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree (AAS Technical/Science) in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical or architectural technology. In lieu of an Associate’s degree, candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience which may also include construction management. These candidates must also have the ability to interpret company plates, layouts, field sketches, and other drawings (all of which involve color coding), as well as the ability to prepare construction drawings. Drafting experience is a plus. Candidates should have PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and VISION. Junior Designers will plan, design, draw, map, and/or estimate layout work for the addition of new facilities to the Gas Distribution System, which provides service to new customers and maintains service to existing customers. They will evaluate the distribution system capacity and provide for load growth. Selected candidates will be expected to advance in the Sr. Designer career path in Gas Engineering.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the applicants to be seated at a computer for the majority of the work day and perform extensive keyboarding. Selected candidates must be capable of using stairs to reach the second floor work location, as there is no elevator access. A valid driver's license and the ability to make occasional field visits are also required for this position.

Physical Requirements: Selected candidates must be able to perform lab and field analysis with precision instruments, be able to use various hand and power tools and be able to work rotating shifts in all weather conditions. Moving and lifting test equipment (up to 50 lbs. in weight) to sampling locations is also required. Selected candidates must be clean-shaven for respirator fit testing and medically approved to wear a respirator. Valid driver’s license required. THIS POSITION INVOLVES ROTATING SHIFTS.
