Qualifications: Gas Engineering is seeking a dynamic individual to join its management team. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience in Gas Operations or an associate’s degree with 3 years experience in Gas Operations or bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in Gas Operations. Candidates without experience in Gas Operations are required to have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. Responsibilities: With guidance, supervises Jr. Designers, Designers, and Sr. Designers in the preparation and mapping of gas layouts for modifications to the gas infrastructure including: new business, interference, system reliability, system reinforcement, etc. This candidate will ensure implementation of Company’s environmental, health and safety programs for those employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Reviews incoming work from Energy Services, Construction Management, Gas Construction, Gas Engineering, etc. Assigns work, tracks progress, adheres to schedules, and follows up with subordinates. Supervises preparation of layouts, the rulings of SIRs, and the mapping of mains and services. Reviews and approves completed work for accuracy and completeness. Establishes programs and schedules for projects. Makes visits as needed to assist Construction, and Construction Management and monitors progress of sensitive jobs. Oversees programs assigned, e.g., simplification program, special main extensions for new business, public improvement, mapping, etc. Prepares and submits appropriations supporting the installation of mains and services. Represents Gas Engineering on various committees and with outside organizations and governmental agencies. Processes contractor damages, issues bills, and associated backup documents to the Law Department for collection, as prepared by subordinates.
