Job Requirements: The selected candidate for the position must have a minimum of three to five years experience in building trades and the ability to read schematic and engineering prints. The candidate must also have knowledge and skill in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry and painting. In addition, the selected candidate must be able to complete successfully the necessary asbestos courses as scheduled. Experience in rotating equipment and mechanical repair is a plus. The nature of this position requires entry into confined spaces and working at high elevations.
Candidate who obtains this position must qualify and advance through career path training to Mechanic A.

Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be capable of lifting 40-60lbs in weight and working in confined spaces. The candidate must be able to work at high elevations and in outdoor weather conditions. The selected candidate must also be able to perform extensive walking, standing, lifting and bending and must be clean-shaven and medically qualified to wear a respirator. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications: Facilities Operations and Maintenance is seeking to recruit a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence and understands the importance of personal accountability. This position requires an individual to exercise independent judgment and possess the ability to render sound business decisions. The ideal candidate must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field is required. Candidates must possess eight (8) years’ experience in building or power plant operations with emphasis in maintenance, HVAC, automated control and alarm systems. Work experience or knowledge of material and contractor labor procurement, OSHA and Company safety requirements, outage coordination, equipment quality assurance, engineering evaluation, blueprint interpretation, and technical report writing is required.
Must be available at all times, including off-hours, for consultation regarding critical operating or maintenance problems and system recovery efforts. Must have a valid driver’s license.
This position could be located in one of the five boroughs, Westchester or Irving Place.
Responsibilities: The Section Manager will direct all activities related to the maintenance and operations of the physical plant including the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and mechanical systems at various Company locations. Provides oversight for the Fire Safety Director at certain locations and the performance of periodic fire and evacuation drills, monthly safety inspections required by code, and maintains a working relationship with the NY Fire Department and other Municipal Fire Departments as required. Oversees the operating functions and the planned mechanical and electrical maintenance functions of all equipment including HVAC, diesel generators, cooling fans, and boilers. Ensures that the procurement of materials and contractor labor for routine maintenance and planned overhauls are available. Arranges that equipment subject to inspection by insurance and governmental agencies meet required standards. Oversees the coordination of maintenance activities between the location, other departments, and contractors. Responsible for the capital, operating and maintenance budgets for various locations. Supports a culture of honesty, integrity and openness regarding environmental, health and safety. Ensures that safe work practices are followed in accordance with Company policies and governmental regulations and for those whose work is directed. Must demonstrate a familiarity and proficiency with mainframe / personal computer applications and maintain the integrity of the systems used through established security practices.

Qualifications: Engineer (2L) / 2H Sr. Engineer (2H) Facilities Management – Facilities Project Planning & Development is looking to hire an energetic, articulate, motivated and experienced professional who possesses strong leadership skills and has demonstrated initiative and commitment to excellence. The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; be able to effectively interact with departments/external customers at all levels and have strong analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. The candidates must have a proven record of accomplishment in providing engineering support for various types of commercial building/yard mechanical systems: fire protection; pumping, piping & valve; tanks and pressure vessels, heat exchangers, oil water separators, mechanical controls, emergency diesel generators, etc. The candidate must be especially well versed in the NYS & NYC Building Codes, NYC Fire Code, NYS Energy Conservation Construction Code, ASME B & PV Codes, and NFPA and be able to perform fluid flow/pressure drop, heat transfer, pipe, valve & tank sizing calculations and select mechanical equipment. The candidate will be involved with facility project design, daily operational & maintenance support, root cause investigation of incidents, system inspections. The candidate will also take on system engineering responsibilities: developing mechanical system expertise and ensuring that systems are operated/maintained per design basis. A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required for this position; Masters Degree and Professional Engineers License are preferred. The Senior Engineer candidates must have 8 to 10 and the Engineer candidates must have 5 to 8 years of work related experience, including intensive experience in the areas of design, and in the application of mechanical engineering principles. It is preferred that this time include field experience. The candidates must have the ability to function in a higher-level management position when delegated. Must demonstrate the proven ability to function as an expert Company witness when necessary.
Must have a valid driver's license and able to travel the Coned territory.
Responsibilities: Candidates will be required to engineer and design projects to support LL26 at 4 Irving Place, Electric Operations, Service Centers and Commercial Buildings, Central Field Services, Gas Operations and TLC. Candidates will prepare and/or direct the preparation of design packages (specifications/drawings) and the review contractor shop drawings; serve as a consultant within the Company or industry in his or her area of specialization; perform cost benefit analysis/conduct conceptual studies to determine best designs; prepare or direct the preparation of budgets and appropriation requests for specific projects; act in the place of the Section Manager when so delegated and act as an expert witness when required; for specific projects and be required to direct, coordinate and review work of Engineers, Associate Engineers, Technicians and Designers. Candidate will also ensure implementation of Company Safety, Health and Environmental programs for employees whose work is directed and ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and environmental regulations.
