Responsibilities: The Project Specialist (PS) ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and government regulations. The selected candidate will be an integral part of the Public Improvement Team. The Project Specialist assists in providing direction and control of the construction management activities associated with the performance of public improvement projects. All candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of total work experience which can be Con Edison or non-Con Edison employment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in construction activities, such as building and waterfront renovations, demolitions, and street infrastructure work; including managing EHS concerns for both contractor and Company workforces performing construction and maintenance activities. Candidates must have working knowledge of environment and safety laws and regulations as well as Company policies and procedures. Must have proven ability to lead team and Company work forces. Must possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to enable success when dealing with all levels of Company workers, contractors, and regulators. Preferred candidates have a thorough working knowledge of SARA Title III; NYC Fire Department Right-To-Know Laws; Asbestos, Lead, and PCB Remediation; Pollution Prevention; Lock-Out Tag-out; Hazard Assessments; Accident and Incident Investigations; Excavations; Scaffolds; Confined Space; HAZWOPER Operations; Federal, State, and Local EHS Regulations; and Company procedures and manuals.

Completion of Company CEHSP is preferred. Successful completion of CEHSP program within 1 year. Successful completion of position-specific EHS training within 1 year.

Responsibilities: Manage the planning, design, field support, advice and counsel for Constructionís diverse construction, maintenance, remediation, demolition, and emergency projects and programs. Manage team of EHS Senior Specialists/Project Specialists who oversee, coordinate, lead, and monitor all EHS concerns for Central Construction, Construction Management, Construction Services, and Public Improvement projects. Oversee all EHS aspects for contractor work, including contractor procurement, eHASP development and review, project planning and design, site audits, injury/accident investigations, incident reviews, Contractor Oversight System, and assist operations to ensure compliance and/or skillful resolutions of non-compliance issues. This position contributes to the success of the Company in that responsibilities ensure both Company and contractor work is conducted in a safe manner, the environment is protected, system reliability is ensured, and programs are in place to protect the public and all employees. Provide leadership within EHS companywide and particularly within EHS Engineering & Construction to cultivate a zero-harm culture by engaging employees and contractors in building shared values that prevent harm to one another, the public, and the environment.

Must pass OSHA medical and fit test for respirator use. Must have a valid driverís license and be able to carry 25 to 40 lbs. Must be able to climb in and out of excavations and electrical structures and climb scaffolding. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Must be willing to travel to various locations and be prepared to respond to emergencies and work weekends if needed.

Qualifications: The Construction Quality Assurance section (CQA) is seeking to recruit a Sr. Specialist to support its role across Central Operations. Successful candidates will be highly-motivated, goal-oriented and demonstrate a strong commitment to improving contractor oversight and contract administration.

A High School Diploma / GED and minimum of 6 yrs. work experience or a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years work experience is required. A minimum of 2 years management experience in utility operation, utility construction or utility contractor oversight is required. The successful candidates will be familiar with Gas and Electric specifications/procedures and work processes. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. The candidate should possess excellent analytical skills with ability to evaluate work production, productivity impacts, risks and trends. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Successful candidate will possess working knowledge of applications that support Central Operations i.e.; COMPASS, POCA/POCR, Maximo, Layout Tracking, Project Wise, and Contractor Oversight System.

A minimum of 2 years work experience within a formal quality control/assurance environment is preferred. Experience in Construction, Steam, Substation Station Operations System and Transmission Operations or Central Engineering is also preferred.

Responsibilities: The Sr. Specialist ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations. Supports the quality assurance activities of Central Operations by performing reviews and inspections of contractor oversight and contract administration. The Sr. Specialist will be one of a team of Sr. Specialists that will collectively possess a variety of skills broad enough to analyze and evaluate the financial and procedural controls to ensure accuracy of reporting and reconciliation of payments. Utilizes strong time management skills to analyze, plan, organize, lead and execute detailed reports of field work observation and supporting documentation. In a continuous team environment, partners with the Operating Organizations to accomplish a series of in-progress and post-work evaluations measuring the effectiveness of risk mitigation. Will facilitate briefings between CQA and the Operating Areas for the initiation, status update, exiting and final draft of evaluations. Prepares root cause analysis reports for damages and major incidents and communicates lessons learned from previous reports, observations, trends and examination of identified areas for improvement. Participate in various cross-organizational team assessment efforts that seek to improve process and procedures. Promote quality management understanding and self-assessment activities by highlighting successful results found within Central Operations and all of Con Edison. Manage all aspects of presentations and reports, including writing, editing, preparing graphics and presenting as needed. The Sr. Specialist will participate in all Construction Quality Assurance activities guided by the expectations written in CQA Standard Operating Procedures.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a minimum High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of work experience or Bachelor's Degree with 2 years relevant technical experience and knowledge. Experience and Knowledge in the following areas; power plant equipment, welding, rigging, fabrication processes including bending, rolling and shearing; machine shop principles and techniques; inspection and repair of pumps and motors are preferred. Candidates should also have experience and knowledge interpreting drawings and engineering prints. Project management experience is preferred. Good computer skills are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and work management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities: Will supervise weekly personnel around the system and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with procedures that govern the work. On a daily basis the supervisor is responsible for the safety of his or her direct reports and must monitor quality, productivity and provide feedback that will help individuals progress in their title. Must ensure that the Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools are incorporated into daily work activities. Ensures that all work is being performed in effective and efficient manner. The supervisor is also responsible for conducting On the Job training (OJT), effective job briefings, documented safety inspections and ensures that all personnel attend training as required. Must be committed to fostering a Zero Accident Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, Achieving Operational Excellence, Developing an effective Cost Management Culture and Enhancing the Customerís Experience. Must be committed to the Way We Work Principles, and adherence to the Companyís Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S).

Bchelor's Degree Preferred

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various work locations. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment. Position requires be able to work in a power plant environment (i.e. walking, climbing, standing, working at high elevations, and in confined spaces). Must be willing to obtain NYC and NYS asbestos handlers license if required. The selected candidate must be able to work emergency shifts, as needed.
