Qualifications: Public Improvement is seeking highly motivated individuals to join its team as Chief Construction Inspectors in the Public Improvement Support Services section. The successful candidates must possess strong written, verbal, interpersonal and decision making skills. Must be able to work in teams, communicate effectively, and promote a positive work ethic to support our Corporate Mission and Values with emphasis on safety and environmental compliance as it relates to Public Improvement interference projects. Candidates must be well organized and flexible to handle multiple concurrent project assignments to meet contract deadlines as required. Must have extensive construction or engineering experience with underground and overhead systems. Experience in construction negotiations is necessary. Candidates must be able to interpret drawings and specifications. Conduct adversarial contract negotiations with municipal and private contractors and interact with various NYC and NYS agencies, including the Port Authority and the Transit Authority. Working knowledge of COMPASS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is required. Bachelorís degree in Engineering and 3 years work experience in the construction management field or High School Diploma and 5 years work experience in the construction management field is required. Must have knowledge of the Construction Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).


Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector will supervise Construction Representatives / Inspectors to ensure that company facilities are properly supported and maintained during the execution of city projects. The CCI ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Comply with the companyís Equal Employment policy and instructions, including outside contractors and government agencies. Conducts field inspections to ensure that all company facilities are properly protected, supported, and maintained in accordance with engineering specifications. Resolves technical and field and/or contract issues. Monitors project cost and provides timely and accurate data for monthly accruals, schedules, arbitrations, RAPS, and change orders. Negotiates with contractors and customers to reach fair resolutions. Maintains open communications with peers, managers, and provides advice on potential problems, extras, damages, injuries, or incidents involving regulatory officials or the public.

This position requires walking, standing, and climbing. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to municipal construction activities involving company facilities. A valid driverís license is required. Use of personal vehicle to travel between work locations within the company service territory is required. Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle is available through company mileage program. Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.

Qualifications: Central Construction is looking to recruit highly motivated, industrious and resourceful individuals to join the Facilities Construction team as Chief Construction Inspector. The successful candidates must be self-starters, responsible, articulate, and able to exercise good judgment and render sound business decisions. Knowledge of and experience with environmental laws and regulations, and OSHA rules and regulations for construction, to ensure environmental, health and safety compliance is required. Must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Corporate Values and Mission, and be able to work toward meeting the department goals and Key Performance Indicators. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills is required to effectively interact with internal and external customers, including contractors, regulatory officials, community representatives. In addition, the candidates must have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and ensure that project schedules and budgets are maintained. Familiarity with and the ability to read, interpret, apply and enforce Con Edisonís drawings, specifications, and procedures is required. Knowledge/experience in contract administration, contract and material procurement and permitting processes and procedures is required.

A Bachelorís degree and 3 years work experience, or H.S. Diploma/GED and 5 years work experience in the construction management field is required. Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Selected candidates will be required to take and pass the courses mandated for this position and other training such as asbestos monitor, lead competency, work permits and incident command when necessary.

Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector (CCI) plans, directs, and supervises the activities of contractors performing various types of projects for construction. Ensures that all work is performed in strict compliance with all the applicable company specifications, standards, and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements. Acts as the Construction Supervisor or as an individual inspector on these projects and will have the major field responsibility for seeing them through to successful completion. Conducts field inspections to ensure that all company facilities are protected, supported and maintained in accordance with all engineering specifications. Must be totally familiar with all of the contract bid requirements/documents, and must interface with design, engineering, purchasing and estimating to obtain any required information and to resolve and correct technical, field or contract issues. Monitors all project costs and provides timely and accurate data and documentation required for contractor payments. Keeps accurate records, utilizing daily logbooks and computers, and provides data for monthly accrual requirements, schedule tracking and change order work. Ensures that all contract changes are processed in accordance with the Contract Administration Manual, and that all contractor performance is reported through the Contractor Oversight System. Negotiates with contractors and customers to reach fair resolutions. Maintains a flow of communication with peers and superiors and advises them immediately of any potential problems, extras, damages, injuries, or incidents with either regulatory officials or the public. Ensures that all company-supplied equipment or materials are ordered and delivered in sufficient time to meet the project schedules. Ascertains that contractors are manning the projects properly, and if not, take the necessary steps to ensure that they are. Reports all infractions as required by procedure and regulations to managers. Takes proactive action to ensure that all work is performed with the goal of zero injuries, and to minimize the potential for any environmental or community problems. Treats all regulatory and/or enforcement officials and public representatives with courtesy and professionalism, and ensures that their inquiries and requests are addressed fairly.

Position requires a valid driver's license to travel between various work locations within the Co Ed service territory. Position requires use of a personal vehicle on a mileage basis if no company vehicles are available. Position requires walking and climbing and candidates must be able to wear the proper PPE. Working nights, weekends, and holidays is also required.

Experience in information Technology or Database Management is preferred. Strong background in Electric or Gas construction with knowledge of construction specifications/procedures is preferred. Responsibilities: The Manager of CQA field operations ensures implementation of Company, safety, health and environmental programs. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and government regulations. Provide oversight of reviews and inspections of Construction, Steam Operations, Substation Operations and System & Transmission Operations. Provide direction and control over Senior Specialistsí activities that will improve contractor oversight, work practices, contract administrative processes and financial controls. The Manager will facilitate briefings and coordinate meetings/activities as needed between the organizations for the initiation and completion of reviews and action items. Ensures the work produced by the Sr. Specialist, reviews, final reports, and investigations are quality products. Promote the operating areasí involvement in self-assessment activities that would further assure quality in contract administration and contractor oversight. Investigations and root cause analysis of incident or concern will be directed by the Manager. Oversees the collection of data needed to support the development of trend analysis and quality measures. Participate in various cross-organizational team assessment efforts that seek to improve process and procedures. Manage all aspects of presentations and reports, including writing, editing, preparing graphics and presenting as needed. Will manage the daily activities of CQA and ensure that the CQA staff participates in all activities guided by the expectations written in CQA Standard Operating Procedures.

Position requires a valid driverís license and personal vehicle to travel between various working locations. Position requires walking, standing, and climbing. The work environment consists of office and field visits. Candidate must be physically able to wear the standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Qualifications: Bronx and Westchester, Overhead group is searching for Operating Supervisors to join its management team. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years related experience or an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience or a High School Diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of five years related experience. The successful candidates must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills that will result in effective interactions with customers, operating/field personnel and corporate management. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate excellent problem solving abilities. Furthermore, the candidates must be well organized, detail oriented and be able to handle a variety of assignments while at the same time meeting any required deadlines. The candidates must also possess strong written communications skills. The candidates must have the ability to evaluate, prioritize and respond rapidly to changing conditions on the electric distribution system. The candidates must also be able to supervise contractors or employees and manage their productivity in the above listed functions, and possess good interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to understand and interpret M&S plates, diagrams and feeder prints. Working knowledge of computer systems.

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Knowledge of the following business tools: iProcurement, Business Intelligence (BI); Internet Explorer; e2MIS; Microsoft Office Suite and Logica Suite products such as Field Manager, ARM Webb Portal and Obvient Webb reports, is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Operating Supervisor will supervise subordinate personnel in the physical installation, repair, maintenance, removal, replacement, testing, and inspection of overhead and URD conductors and associated equipment of the electrical distribution system. Ensure that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications and environmental laws and regulations. Conduct safety talks providing support and resources. Conduct safety audits to ensure that all employees receive mandatory compliance and skills training as required by OSHA and Company specifications. Take corrective actions and give timely feedback to staff. Interpret computerized reports and determine their application for work related activities. Ensure that Daily Crew Activity Reports are accurate and signed to indicate approval, as well as accounting for and approving expenditures for labor, material supplies and equipment within prescribed budgets. Responsible for oversight of Contracted Line Constructors and use of the Contractor Oversight System. Responsible for research and completion of assigned special projects, as required.

Position requires a valid driver's license. Must be able to work on ladders, in buckets and be able and willing to learn to climb poles at heights upward to 40 feet. Extensive walking, climbing, bending, and driving. Must be available to work overtime and be on call 24 hours a day, to include storm emergency work. Must be able to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions for long periods of time. Position requires working out of various locations in Westchester/Bronx service territory. Must receive medical approval for both CDL license and respirator fit. Must be qualified to obtain asbestos City/State Supervisor's license.
