Qualifications: Construction Management is looking for a dedicated professional who is highly motivated, self-reliant, resourceful, and articulate to join the Construction Street Operations department as an Associate Specialist. The successful candidate must have excellent leadership skill, exercise good judgment and render sound and technical decisions. To succeed in this position, the selected candidate must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Company’s Corporate Values and Mission. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Windows OS. Must be well organized, detail orientated and flexible to handle multiple assignments. To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Company employees and contractors. A High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience will be accepted, or an Associate/Bachelor degree (BA/BS) in related field and 2 years relevant work experience is acceptable. Relevant work experience includes: Experience in office management, utilization of spreadsheets and databases to track and monitor work queues; Interfacing with customers and/or contractors, filing, setting-up and following-up with appointments along with updating financial records.



Applicants with experience in interpreting contract pay items and standard term and conditions of construction contracts is highly preferred. Experience working with Oracle, CPMS, Project Wise, LOT, Paving System, COMPASS, Visions, Buyers Mapping System, Irth System is also highly preferred.

Responsibilities: The Associate Specialist ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. The position requires a commitment to the Way We Work Principles, and adherence to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EHS”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline, and security. Requests documentation from the Company’s contractors required to support Unit Price Contract payments. Ensures all required documents, paperwork, photographs, etc. are contained in payment folders before submittal to the Chief Construction Inspectors (CCI) for review and final payment. Responsible to secure, monitor and maintain payment folders from initial submittal by Inspectors and Construction Representatives (CR) through final payment and filing. Assist with the resolution of contractor exceptions to proposed payments (claims). The Associate Specialist will support the department goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). May perform other related assignments as required to support departmental needs.

Qualifications: Construction Management seeks an industrious individual to join its Construction Operation's team as Chief Construction Inspector. The successful candidate will possess strong decision-making skills, flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Must possess strong oral and written, interpersonal and negotiation skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers. Knowledge of operating rules, environmental procedures and safety practices to work in company facilities required. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in Gas construction or engineering. Bachelor’s degree and 3 years work experience in the construction field or H.S. Diploma/GED and 5 years work experience in the construction field. A thorough knowledge of construction practices, safety and environmental procedures, and estimating and methods is required. The ability to interpret relevant drawings and specifications is also required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint .




Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector (CCI) ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations. The CCI supervises the work effort of Construction Representatives and Inspectors engaged in all aspects of contract administration and inspection with an emphasis on Gas construction projects. Assures that all contractor work is performed in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with established Company standards and specifications. Ensures that the contractor’s methods of work conform to local, state and federal regulations. Assures all contractor work is conducted within the stipulations required by applicable NYC permits, and minimizes quality of life issues for the community we serve. Tracks and controls project costs, ensures work accruals are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Researches new methods of performing work, improving quality and increasing productivity. Physical Requirements: Position requires walking, standing, and climbing. Will be required to work various schedules, including weekend and nights. Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold climates. Must be able to respond to emergencies and be medically approved to wear a half face respirator. Manages the activities of the planners responsible for the review and fielding of layouts associated with street construction work. Assist the planners with potential issues that could delay projects, i.e., permit issues and environmental impacts. Manages the process of obtaining permits with the DOT, DEP, MTA and Parks department. Ensures preparation of work package is completely accurately and timely. Develop procedures and prepare guidelines for project planning and scheduling. Identify areas of concern on projects and communicate findings to others for resolution. Offer recommendations for improvement and take a proactive approach to avoid future occurrences. Communicate Lessons Learned. Acts as liaison to Engineering and provides feedback on the constructability process during the development phase of a project. Act as liaison between Electric Operations Work Management team and Construction. Ensure administrative controls are in place to remain within the department budget. Identify ways to increase productivity. Create opportunities to develop leadership skills, team building, oral and written and communication skills in the work force. Utilize the performance management tools to ensure optimum employee performance, annual compensations and the discipline process. Support the organization and the department goals and KPI’s. Associates degree in Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related field with four years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree a HS/GED diploma with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a related field is required. Excellent computer skills are required in Microsoft Products including Access, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio and PowerPoint. Experience with Business Intelligence and analytical tools such as Tableau is also required. Experience with the use of (SQL) for querying various databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle is required. The candidate must be able to create tables and views and understand how to vet them for accuracy and their value-added applicability to the business processes they support or monitor. The Specialist will query and analyze data from multiple systems and databases such as Logica, CPMS, Layout Tracking, Visions, ProjectWise, PASS, and the Summons system to develop reports to provide tools to all levels of management to aid in their decision making in various aspects of the business including compliance, cost management, the customer experience and operational excellence. Provides support to the Construction Manager in various capacities. Prepares and delivers presentations to various levels of management. Complies with EEO policies and procedures.
