Qualifications: Gas Engineering is looking to hire a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join its Gas Control Sequence and Scheduling group. The selected candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of work experience preferably in engineering or computer systems -OR- an Associate’s degree with 4 years of work experience in operations or engineering including but not limited to gas operations or engineering. Related work experience includes experience with scheduling field activities, system modeling and/or familiarity with Gas Operations work. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with both internal and external customers and various levels of management. Candidate must have prior experience demonstrating project management skills and/or managing multiple assignments. The selected candidate must be flexible and have the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously as required. Candidate must be proficient in the use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.



Work experience in planning is preferred. Experience with Shared Point, Internet applications and familiarity with Google Earth is a plus. Knowledge or experience using GIS (Gas Information System) and Byers (Utility mapping system) or comparable applications is preferred

Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for assisting Gas Control Operators in maintaining the integrity of the Company’s Gas Transmission and Distribution system. This includes the processing, scheduling and sequencing of Gas Engineering and Gas Operations planned activities covered under IP-9 and monitoring excavation activities on or near the Gas Transmission system as per G-11863. Review third party activity reported to the Gas Sequence and Scheduling group, determine appropriate Gas Transmission Contingency case, if valves are required to be staffed, issue appropriate notifications, and coordinate staffing of valves as needed. Initiate discussion with Gas Distribution and Transmission Engineering for support with modeling as needed. Track activity including New York Facilities Gas Transmission activities, major gas transmission projects, Leak Survey activities, Pressure Control activities, and Gas Transmission Main Patrols. Maintain the tracking systems capturing emergency and scheduled work on the Gas Transmission and Distribution systems.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid Driver's License and ability to travel within Company service territory, as necessary. Must be able to work a rotating schedule of 40 hours Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A Bachelor Degree and 2 years of work experience are required.



Applicants with knowledge in natural gas scheduling deliveries, nominations on interstate pipeline websites, and confirmation process are preferred.

Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for assisting Gas Control Operators in maintaining the integrity of the natural gas transmission and distribution system in a safe, reliable and economic manner. This will include maintaining all gas accounting functions, to ensure accuracy of delivered supplies for system operations with respective interstate pipelines, the Company’s Gas Purchasing and Transportation Customers (including electric-steam generation) Sections. Ensure that appropriate gas schedules are in place to provide sufficient gas supplies to meet service area Transmission and Distribution load requirements. On behalf of Gas Control coordinate the Daily Morning Meeting between Gas Control and the Company’s Gas Purchasing Section. Coordinate the various city-gate capacity allocations among the New York Facilities members and third parties delivering gas to the service area. Create daily and ad-hoc reports utilizing Excel and Word. Utilize gas load forecasting models to predict gas loads.

Qualifications: Gas Engineering Pressure Control is seeking a dynamic professional to join its team. The manager will provide leadership and direct the overall activities of the Mechanical and Technical groups. Ensures operating supervisors are made aware of training requirements and obtains solutions to their problems to allow them to perform their required functions in compliance with all regulations and procedures. The Manager performs administrative functions, such as management of the budget and personnel issues in a timely and professional manner. The Manager has the overall responsibility of the day to day operations of the Pressure Control department to maximize the integrity, reliability and continuity of the gas regulating assets maintained by the organization while operating within human resource budgets and schedules. Coordinates multiple projects simultaneously while remaining flexible to effectively meet changing priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate must possess BA/BS Degree. Engineering degree in the Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical disciplines preferred. Knowledge of design, repair, and maintenance of gas distribution systems, pressure regulating stations / equipment, power generation (as applicable), mechanical and controls systems, as well as associated equipment. Working knowledge of gas transmission and distribution system, regulator stations, ROV’s, and general system operation. Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations concerning pressure regulation equipment/designs. Minimum of 6 years of field experience, or supervisory and managerial experience of a technical group with a proven ability to motivate people. Must have strong decision-making, organizational, problem solving, analytical, administrative, oral and written communication skills. Must be motivated, innovative, flexible, and able to handle multiple assignments while meeting stringent deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and comfortable dealing with all levels of management, union personnel and customers are required.




Responsibilities: Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Performs field training to other departments of system operations and regulator station equipment. Makes recommendations to improve/retrofit obsolete or outdated equipment and assists in the preparation of the annual and five year capital budget requests to support these activities. Responds to system emergencies and coordinates with Gas Control, Regional Operations, and ERC personnel, to rectify and repair comprised elements. Delegation for Department Manager during absences and vacations as required. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
