Qualifications: Qualified candidate must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Civil Engineering/Architectural Technology. In lieu of an Associate's Degree, a High School Degree or GED and two (2) years of equivalent and relevant design work experience will be accepted. The ideal candidate must be dedicated, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and on teams. This individual must have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with personnel on all levels. The candidate must have a high computer proficiency with the ability to perform drafting and design in AutoCAD 2D. Knowledge of 3D design and ability to utilize current computer technologies to render 3D designs is desirable. Applicant must be able to read and prepare civil, structural, and/or architectural construction drawings, including plans, sections, and details. He or she must have a working knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural design issues associated with substation, generation station, or large infrastructure design. The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret design and building codes, regulations, and standards. In particular, he or she should have familiarity with local building code requirements and steel and concrete design standards and practices to produce quality design drawings and supporting documentation. Applicant will be responsible for coordinating design work with designers from other design disciplines, engineers, station personnel, in addition to occasionally providing design field support during construction activities. 










Responsibilities:


Physical Requirements: Selected candidate must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. The working environment consists of both office and field (substation and generating station) settings. The job requires strong manual dexterity. Office work may require periods of prolonged sitting. Field work may require extensive walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and need to work in environments with exposure to noise, heat, confined spaces, heights, etc. A valid driver's license is required.
