Although many people may think the delivery of Electric and Gas service doesn’t change much, that isn’t the case. We are entering one of the most dynamic and exciting times for the Utility Industry. Through intelligent, connected energy devices, including the Internet of Things (IoT) and renewable energy, it is changing all aspects of our industry. At the center of this transformational change is Information Technology (IT). Many of the innovative ideas and projects that shape the industry and our company’s future are dependent on IT. IT employees are at the heart of these major transformation projects and provide not only technical expertise but also strong collaborative and leadership skills to execute the Company’s strategy. As such, the IT Department of Con Edison is seeking multiple senior-level architect positions across multiple IT disciplines to lead and foster high quality, complex and innovative IT solutions. Requirements – Core Candidates must have significant expertise in technology and ability to drive innovation. Candidates are expected to leverage these skills to design, architect and help deploy IT solutions. Candidates will craft, communicate and influence strategic direction, and represent IT at the executive level. Candidates are expected to collaborate with peers from various groups in IT and the lines of business. Candidates are expected to develop and manage high quality, integrated IT solutions utilizing strong project management skills. Candidates are expected to stay abreast of changes in the industry and apply best practices. Candidates are expected to identify solutions based on detailed analysis that includes various factors (technology platform, support, costs, integration, etc) Candidates are expected to develop architectural designs, implement solutions as well as conduct quality reviews in their area of expertise. Candidates must drive for results. Candidate is also expected to develop roadmaps and effectively influence both IT and business leadership on those roadmaps. Candidates must demonstrate that they have strong technical judgment (based on expertise and research), strong emotional intelligence, and foster a strong team attitude. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates are expected to demonstrate independent judgment and act as technical lead for multiple projects from high level design to full implementation. This includes resolving complex technical issues through troubleshooting as well as influencing others on the best course of action and drive the team towards resolution. Candidates are also expected to evaluate, develop and mentor junior technical staff and provide technical training recommendations. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or business-related discipline; Master’s Degree preferred. In addition, a minimum of 8 years of experience developing solutions using various development tools is required.



Con Edison is currently seeking a Mobility architect: • Experience required with evaluating, selecting and implementing new technologies that meet needs beyond a single project or application, e.g. development, middleware, collaboration, visualization, information management or monitoring tools, API’s, mobile technologies. Experience working with one or more Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (MEAP) with excellent knowledge in the areas of Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM) and Mobile application development lifecycle • Having a wide array of knowledge in prevalent mobile technologies (web, native and hybrid), industry standards, mobile operating systems, devices, development languages/tools, mobile frameworks, lifecycle management and user interface standards • Developing accompanying processes or training. Influencing rapid adoption. • Extensive experience required in conducting project, design, or problem resolution in support of projects other than their own. Frequently called upon to solve difficult issues. • Experience preferred with ownership (subject matter expert, vendor relationships and support roadmaps) of IT Components (e.g. development frameworks and tools such as IOS, Android, Java, C#, Zamarin, etc)

Responsibilities: • Technical lead of IT Mobility Governance and Strategy with responsibility for overall management and coordination of the IT mobility component inventory and component roadmaps • Evaluation of upgrade plans and roadmaps • Coordination of vetting and introduction of new application development technologies and infrastructure • Management of application development frameworks, general purpose tools, API’s, application development standards and procedures • Participating in an Innovation Center in collaboration with other architects • Management of one to two developers/junior architects in support of above responsibilities



Ensures Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work they direct. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Candidate must be available to provide support 24 hours, seven days a week. Implement and adhere to Con Edison Cyber Security policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements: • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. • Must be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergencies
