Qualifications: The Gas Compliance & Quality Assessment Department is looking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated professional to join the organization. The Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical, technical, statistical and administrative support to the Gas Compliance & Quality Assessment Organization. The candidate must be capable of working independently as well as in teams and will be required to travel to various locations throughout the Con Edison service territory. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or an Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience or a HS diploma/GED with 5 years of experience. Demonstrated experience scheduling, planning and coordinating meetings, events, and other team functions required. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access) and database management systems required. Must possess the ability to interface with all levels of union and management employees. Must possess informal leadership and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to confidently interact with all levels of employees. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills to track and manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced setting.



Experience with quality assurance, auditing, or other process improvement initiatives preferred. Knowledge or experience with regulatory compliance preferred. Experience reviewing, interpreting and analyzing policies and procedures preferred. Knowledge of and experience with operator qualification requirements preferred. Experience with data analytics and visualization software (e.g. ACL, Tableau) preferred. Experience with Visio, Microsoft Project, Sharepoint preferred. Experience with various electronic systems used in Gas Operations such as Action Tracking, GIS, Byers, ProjectWise, GIMS, Visions, Oracle, and e-train preferred.

Responsibilities: Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Maintain documentation and develop meaningful reporting metrics. Assist with tracking the CEO Certification requirements, as needed. Provide assistance with updating and submitting various internal reports on compliance activities and highlights on a periodic basis. Identify and report on trends. Assist with the preparation of filings and reports for compliance purposes. Must have the ability to work well under pressure, have a positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent customer focus. Candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative and follow through, and exercise discretion in coordinating projects, reports and information as required in a busy environment. Must be adaptable to frequent changes in workload and willing to work overtime, with little or no notice, when business needs dictate. Play an active role in meeting goals and performance measures. Partner with and initiate benchmarking activities with other organizations and outside utilities. Ensure compliance with all state regulations and Legislation. Comply with the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required, including overall administrative support for the organization.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. Must be able and willing to participate in emergency assignments to respond to incidents or storms, as needed.

Qualifications: The Construction Quality Assurance section (CQA) is seeking to recruit a Sr. Specialist to support its role across Central Operations. Successful candidates will be highly-motivated, goal-oriented and demonstrate a strong commitment to improving contractor oversight and contract administration. A High School Diploma / GED and minimum of 6 yrs. work experience or a Bachelor Degree and 3 years work experience is required. A minimum of 2 years management experience in utility operation, utility construction or utility contractor oversight is required. The successful candidates will be familiar with Gas and Electric specifications/procedures and work processes. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. The candidate should possess excellent analytical skills with ability to evaluate work production, productivity impacts, risks and trends. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Successful candidate will possess working knowledge of applications that support Central Operations i.e.; COMPASS, POCA/POCR, Maximo, Layout Tracking, Project Wise, and Contractor Oversight System.



A minimum of 2 years work experience within a formal quality control/assurance environment is preferred. Experience in Construction, Steam, Substation Station Operations System and Transmission Operations or Central Engineering is also preferred.

Responsibilities: The Sr. Specialist ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations. Supports the quality assurance activities of Central Operations by performing reviews and inspections of contractor oversight and contract administration. The Sr. Specialist will be one of a team of Sr. Specialists that will collectively possess a variety of skills broad enough to analyze and evaluate the financial and procedural controls to ensure accuracy of reporting and reconciliation of payments. Utilizes strong time management skills to analyze, plan, organize, lead and execute detailed reports of field work observation and supporting documentation. In a continuous team environment, partners with the Operating Organizations to accomplish a series of in-progress and post-work evaluations measuring the effectiveness of risk mitigation. Will facilitate briefings between CQA and the Operating Areas for the initiation, status update, exiting and final draft of evaluations. Prepares root cause analysis reports for damages and major incidents and communicates lessons learned from previous reports, observations, trends and examination of identified areas for improvement. Participate in various cross-organizational team assessment efforts that seek to improve process and procedures. Promote quality management understanding and self-assessment activities by highlighting successful results found within Central Operations and all of Con Edison. Manage all aspects of presentations and reports, including writing, editing, preparing graphics and presenting as needed. The Sr. Specialist will participate in all Construction Quality Assurance activities guided by the expectations written in CQA Standard Operating Procedures.

Physical Requirements: Position requires a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel between various working locations. Position requires walking, standing, and climbing. The work environment consists of office and field visits. Candidate must be physically able to wear the standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May be required to work off hours including weekends and holidays. Candidate must be able to respond to emergencies if required. Candidate must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
