Qualifications: Substations Operations Protective Systems Testing in Staten Island, NY is looking for Electrical Technicians (Local 3) to perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on protective relays and systems, substation equipment, control systems and telephone lines in substations and other field locations. Candidates for this position must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, or related field of study or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field of study or candidates having completed two-year United States military academic programs including Nuclear Electronics Technician, Nuclear Electrician, and Aviation Electronics Technician are welcome. Candidate must have a HS diploma or GED.



Candidates must have a strong knowledge of basic AC and DC electrical power theory and circuit analysis, including three phase AC power systems, as well as a strong working knowledge of mathematics and the ability to perform calculations involving basic trigonometry and vector analysis. Candidates must have knowledge and experience with computer systems and must be able to use these skills to perform automated testing, as well as prepare spreadsheets and technical reports. Candidates must also possess excellent verbal and written communications skills. All candidates will be required to pass both a written placement exam and structured interview for the PST Electrical Technician position.

Responsibilities: The nature of this job requires extensive walking, climbing, and standing, and the ability to push, pull, and lift equipment and materials weighing up to 60 lbs. Candidates must be able and willing to work in various weather and station conditions, including heat, noise, and in confined spaces. Candidates must be able and willing to work with, and in the vicinity of high voltage and other high-energy systems.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must also be able and willing to safely climb ladders and work on top of elevated platforms and equipment, as well as in manholes below grade. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for daily use on Company business is required. This position may require working various shifts and overtime to meet job schedules.

Additional:

Estimate manpower resources, materials, special tools and equipment required to perform corrective and preventative maintenance of power plant equipment and piping systems. Develop job plans as required to complete each job in an effective and timely manner. Candidate will originate purchase and class/stock orders and will follow up on the status of those orders. Assure that all work orders and equipment history are entered in the required computer systems. Consult and review technical manuals, instruction books, prints, sketches, manufacturer's catalogs, equipment history records and other references for specifications and performance information to assist in planning process. Identify spare parts and equipment located in various storerooms for use in field repairs. Work with EH&S, Engineering and other Departments, as necessary, to gather information to be used in Job Plans. May perform special job related assignments and studies as required. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills. Must have a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be able to perform heavy manual labor (push, pull and lift 45-60 lbs.) and to do extensive walking, standing and climbing. Candidates must be willing to work in a physically demanding work environment (i.e., work in all weather conditions, in confined spaces and in hot and cold ambient temperatures). Candidates must be clean shaven and medically approved to wear a respirator to include fit testing for 1/2 face, full face and SCBA respirator use. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. They will perform mandated inspection programs and respond to emergency calls.Candidates will be expected to work safely and are required to communicate clearly with their coworkers and customers. Selected candidates will be required to access/enter customer premises and have customer contact on a regular basis. The candidates will be expected to provide outstanding customer service and present a positive image of the company to customers. Selected candidates must also be able to work various shifts, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as required. Knowledge and skill are required, but not limited to, in the following areas: the use of excavating safe work practices; knowledge and the ability to use environmental policies and procedures; ability to perform standard maintenance functions; the use of hand and power tools; ability to safely operate a jackhammer (90lbs. in weight) for extended periods of time; ability to pinpoint leaks in gas mains and services; and ability to obtain certificates of fitness and/or licenses as required. Selected candidates must be capable of pushing/pulling/lifting up to 90lbs in weight, working in confined spaces and underground structures, working in all outdoor weather conditions, and walking/climbing/standing extensively. Qualifications: The Occupational Health department is seeking to hire a Medical Technician to conduct medical office based diagnostic tests and analysis as part of Occupational Health screening, surveillance, and regulatory exams. The selected candidate must have a High School diploma (or GED) and a minimum of two years' work experience in healthcare; an Associate's degree in a Health Related field and 2 year work experience is preferred. The candidate must be CPR/AED certified and possess a certificate of completion from an accredited spirometry training program. If not currently certified must become certified to perform spirometry within three months of hire. Experience performing office-based testing including vision, hearing and EKG is required. Solid organizational and communication skills as well as competency in Microsoft Office Products are a must. The successfully candidate should also be experienced in performing urine dipstick testing; as well as obtaining vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and respiratory rate. Experience with medical record administration including scanning and filing medical charts, familiarly with scheduling office appointments and experience in an Occupational Health environment is preferred. Familiarity with drug testing programs is also preferred.



Additional:

The selected candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities as required, and possess a willingness and ability to work and learn in a fast-paced service environment. The candidate should also be familiar with a corporate occupational health or medical office environment.








Responsibilities:


Physical Requirements: This position requires sitting at a workstation (desk), working on computers for extended periods of time, and standing to use copier/scanner/fax. Selected candidate will write, type, and answer the telephone during this time. This work requires excellent manual dexterity and continuous use of hands. Selected candidate must be able to climb stairs, as well as stoop, bend, reach, and kneel to file documents. A valid driver's license is required. Must be willing and able to travel to company service territory, as needed and to work on Mobile Medical Trailers that may be stationed in all five boroughs and Westchester County.

Selected candidate must qualify in all of the station's operating posts including, but not limited to: Water Treatment, Gas Turbine, PIC, Upper Rover, Electrical switching, and Control Room. The nature of this position requires the selected candidate to perform work involving steam production, working with steam generating boilers, boiler feed pumps and fans, turbine-generators and related auxiliary equipment, water treatment systems, and fuel delivery systems. The use of hands and power tools are required. The work location of this position is: Manhattan, NY
