  • Responsibilities:

    Ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Perform other related assignments as required.Analyst (1H) - Under the general supervision of the Section Manager, the Analyst will work with and assist Operating departments in the monitoring of actual performance versus budget on a monthly basis as well as resource requirements. By reviewing detail data in the Company’s accounting and financial systems, the Analyst will also perform root cause analysis of cost categories with significant and unanticipated variations. The Analyst will also provide analysis on the overall impact on the Company’s financial performance to determine corrective actions.Provides accounting and finance support to senior staff in the preparation of the monthly and year-to-date financial analysis relating to the overall corporate forecast and determines their impact on overall corporate financial performance. With some general guidance, prepares various accounting or financial related data, analysis schedules or reports of the Company’s financial statements and accounts. Assists in the development of the monthly financial analysis to senior management including updated financial projections and provide recommendations, as required.With some general guidance, utilizes the Oracle financial systems to develop and analyze operating and capital expenditures and other income statement categories, provide variance explanations, and answer financial related questions pertaining to operational requirements. Provides support and input in the development and installation of budgetary control systems. Provides support in the development of schedules, interrogatory responses and general information for rate filings.Other additional responsibilities will include participating in the overall monthly operating and capital expenditures financial analysis, assisting in performing studies and analytical job assignments that require financial, regulatory and technical knowledge and participating in investigations and conducting special assignments as required calling for individual judgment and responsibility. With some general guidance, prepares and updates annual studies and programs corporate wide, as required.Sr. Analyst (2L) - With limited supervision of the Section Manager, the Senior Analyst will plan, implement, coordinate and support the development of the Company’s O&M, Capital, other income statement categories, and Human Resources plan at the organization and department level. Develop plans to enhance costs control and perform analysis that monitors actual performance versus budget on a monthly and year-to-date basis. Prepare the consolidated O&M and capital variance reports for senior management and must have a good understanding of the general ledger and financial statements. Provide input on the overall impact on the Company’s financial performance and projections.Prepares in-depth cost analysis and statistical evaluation of monthly O&M and capital expenditures through the use of computer applications. Is proficient in analysis of the Company’s financial statements and general ledger to provide input on actual vs. budget variations that result from accounting changes, regulatory requirements or adjustments. Provides technical guidance to junior staff members. Serves as team lead on various projects as required which may include directing the work of others. Serves in a lead capacity with the development and installation of budgetary control systems.Other additional responsibilities will include: performing studies and analytical job assignments that require financial, regulatory and technical knowledge and investigations; and conducting special assignments, as required, calling for individual judgment and responsibility. These responsibilities will involve interaction with both O&R and CECONY individuals and departments.     Qualifications: O&R Vegetation Management Department is seeking to hire a Chief Construction Inspector to join it's team. This position requires candidates to demonstrate in the application they possess the following skills and abilities:


  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Forestry, or other related field with 2 years of work experience in line clearance operations on electric transmission and/or distribution lines OR Associate’s Degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Forestry, or other related field with 4 years work experience in line clearance operations on electric transmission and/or distribution lines OR High School/GED and 5 years work experience in line clearance operations on electric transmission and/or distribution lines.

  • Certification by International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) as a Certified Arborist is preferred. This certification must be obtained within 18 months of being assigned to this position.

  • Certification by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as a licensed pesticide applicator or technician under category 6A is preferred. This certification must be obtained within 18 months of being assigned to this position.

  • Prefer two years supervisory experience.

  • Must have strong decision making skills. Must be flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills required to effectively supervise contractor operations.

  • Responsibilities: Under general supervision, supervises the work of contract Vegetation Management crews to ensure compliance with the company’s vegetation management program and practices. Assures all contractor work is performed in a timely and efficient manner and is in accordance with established Company standards. Ensures that the contractor’s method of work conforms to local, state and federal regulations.

    Maintains a working knowledge of state and federal codes governing vegetation management along with Orange & Rockland’s electric standards, work procedures, and EH&S rules and guidelines. Supervises the work of contract Vegetation Management crews and contract inspectors to ensure that work is performed in compliance with job specifications, and that required clearances are achieved. Ensures all contractor work is performed in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA requirements. Performs written quality audits of contractors’ work and provides feedback to management. Recommends work process improvements to enhance quality and productivity. Provides expert arboriculture advice on customer inquiries regarding vegetation maintenance and utility line clearance requirements.


    Acts as the company representative at Town and Municipality meetings regarding utility vegetation maintenance requirements. Responds to emergencies during non-working hours. Reports contractor work performance through the contractor oversight system. Tracks and controls project costs. Utilizes Oracle to requisition, receipt, and approve payments. Supervises and participates in the preparation of studies and reports required by the Company and regulatory bodies. Maintains required records and reports in a manner suitable for inspection by Company auditors and governing agencies. Participates in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required. Performs other related duties, as required.

    Establishes and communicates meaningful goals and objectives. Monitors, directs, guides and assists teammates to successfully meet assigned goals and tasks. Directs Substation Operations compliance efforts/responses. Ensures compliance with all NERC CIP and Reliability Standards, laws, regulations, Company policies and procedures, and appropriate industry standards, and rules promulgated by the served states’ public service commissions. Ensures the department’s compliance program is effective and well run. Ensures full and auditable compliance with all NERC standards is maintained.     Monitors and reports on departmental KPIs/ATIP targets. Prepares budgetary forecasts and financial opportunities and risks. Oversees and monitors departmental purchase orders, P-card and capital expenditure requests while ensuring compliance to corporate and departmental policies. Establishes the annual maintenance and capital plans and prepares station specific schedules in accordance with the established department goals and adherence to the applicable budgets. Inputs outages and monitors same via WMS/SIRS to ensure periodic maintenance and emergency repairs are completed in a timely fashion. Ensures accurate and complete reporting, including data entry into Substation Information System, Work Management System (WMS), Oracle, and the Online Test Results System. WMS. Establishes methods to improve work performance and maintain a high degree of effectiveness by reducing delay and other non-productive time. Coordinates and controls the activities associated with the availability and timely delivery of material, parts and equipment. Ensures the efficient scheduling of crews to effect the timely completion of projects, such as load relief, system reliability, equipment maintenance and repairs, and emergency response in accordance with applicable Company specifications and governmental regulations.


    Evaluates the performance and integrity of the O&R Substation electrical systems and participates in the development and implementation of goals and plans to improve the reliability of the system. Ensures the training and development of management and union employees is organized, efficient, and completed on a timely basis. Ensures training documentation is maintained in the TLC system. Must be available to respond to system emergencies on a 24/7 basis including equipment event response, storm preparation and response activities, and assigned storm roles. Ensures large power customers who contract the Substation Operations department to perform work on an emergency and periodic basis are well served. Ensure back-up documentation for billing accounts are prepared and accurate. Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.

  • Responsibilities: With some general guidance, provides on-site troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and resolution, and general support for the corporate computing infrastructure installed at all company locations. Develops or modifies procedures to resolve problems using information technology. Ability to troubleshoot and support latest technologies relative to desktop and remote computing, Wi-Fi and wireless computing, mobile field/laptop devices as well as other PDA and remote access tools. Supports client requests and inquiries regarding collaboration and workflow tools. Offers first-level support and guidance as to its use and applicability. Ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.

Responsible for the installation and client profile/setup of PCs, printers and other associated equipment for all new and replacement PCs, laptops, and mobile data terminals (MDT/field devices) being deployed. Acts as liaison between our clients and all groups in Information Technology to help ensure continuity of support and timely responses to issues that may arise. Researches, diagnoses, and suggests possible root causes of LAN/WAN problems. Works with IR Network Services on network projects within assigned service area. Maintains familiarity with application development (i.e., .Net) and network monitoring tools/utilities.


    Must be willing to assume a leadership role for overseeing regional projects and to ensure that quality of work assigned is achieved and timelines are met. Willing to be flexible and take on technically challenging and complex assignments when requested to do so. Completes software compliance audits for all PCs/laptops to ensure proper licensing of products is in place. Performs ‘Gatekeeper’ procedures in LAN rooms as required in assigned service areas. Ensures all work practices and workspace in O&R’s service areas meet Company and Information Technology standards relative to housekeeping and safety matters. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all corporate standard computer software required by the Corporation (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint collaboration tools, SMS software deployment tools, Computer Cost Central). Good understanding of, in order to support O&R specific corporate deployed applications preferred, i.e., CIMS Customer Service System, OMS, Gas Mobile Dispatch and NRG Mapping system. Ensures that security, anti-virus and backup programs are effectively installed and operational on all PCs and laptops.


    Performs administrative duties such as MAGIC and SMS reporting and completes tasks performed on a daily/monthly timetable. Provides off-hours on call support on a rotating basis. Escalates problems to experts within an appropriate time frame. Assists users with stand-alone PC problems. Records calls received and resolved in the Help Center Tracking System. Supports operating organizations during corporate emergencies. Assists with teleconferencing presentations for setup and deployment, when requested. Performs other related assignments or projects as required.

  • Responsibilities: Under general guidance of the Section Manager, the Unit Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the credit and collections departments for Orange and Rockland Utilities, which comprises electric, gas and sundry. Responsibilities will include the active and final account receivables and uncollectibles; the final bill collection and bankruptcy processes; the management of outside collection agencies; and the sundry receivables and uncollectibles. Responsible for tracking and reporting of all credit and collections data. Ensures all credit and collection practices and procedures are compliant with New York and New Jersey regulations. Ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of the Credit Collections and Sundry Collections functions through direct supervision of subordinate management. Is responsible for credit and collections and sundry collections policies and procedures, and ensures that all policies are in compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. Is responsible for all credit and collection reporting to the state regulatory agencies in New York and New Jersey. Manages and monitors the collection of all large dollar delinquent accounts, concentrating on accounts over 90-days in arrears as well as manage the collection of the special handling coded accounts. Using adhoc reporting and arrears segmentation data, prioritizes accounts for telephone and field collection activities. Manages and monitors the internal and external final bill collection process. Responsible for managing the final bill system, including the collection of all finalized and uncollectible accounts. Supervises the outside collection agency vendor process, including the procurement of primary and secondary collection agencies and acts as the company liaison with these agencies. Is responsible for credit and collections processes and procedures, and the monitoring of the CIMS credit system performance which includes prioritizing required enhancements. Analyzes and evaluates key credit indicators and develops innovative approaches, strategies, and programs to improve performance. Establishes performance standards; plans, organizes, schedules and assigns resources to effectively meet workloads within the operation and improve productivity; ensures efficient, accurate and timely performance of all Credit Operations. Is responsible for the non-residential deposit policy. Manages the fraud claim and customer identity theft process. Is responsible for the social security identification process, including vendor procurement and implementation of changes. Initiates and manages the live agent outbound telephone call campaigns which include the mandatory winter and summer hardship telephone calls as well as the summer courtesy campaigns. Implement and manage the IVR telephone call campaigns. Acts as liaison with the accounts receivable vendor contracted to make these telephone calls. Handles all legal credit and collection matters, including the procurement of judgments and liens. Represents the company as the expert witness at trials and is responsible for acceptance or denial of settlement offers; respond to subpoenas pertaining to collection matters. Manages the bankruptcy function. Oversees the handling and processing of all accounts filing for bankruptcy protection; file proof of claims and administrative claims to protect the company’s interests. Develops and maintains databases for data-mining, analyzing and reporting purposes. Represents the Company at meetings with regulators and state utility groups. Is responsible for recommending and implementing new strategies, policies and procedures to improve active, final and uncollectible recoveries. Participates in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required. Performs other related tasks and assignments as directed.
