Qualifications: Brooklyn/Queens Energy Services, Seeking to hire a professional who is dedicated to delivering exemplary customer service while promoting a team spirited work environment in support of Con Edison's Corporate Values. Must possess good management/ leadership abilities and skills and be able to supervise a staff of field employees and/or clerical personnel in coordinating various Gas and Electric service installation activities. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with customers, consultants, electricians and plumbers, as well as various levels of union and management employees. This candidate must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible in handling multiple assignments/deadlines. Must include demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electric/gas service installations. The District Manager must have High School Diploma and 5 years of relevant work experience, an Associate’s Degree with 4 years of experience or BA/BS degree with 2 years experience in Engineering or Electric or Gas Construction or Meter and Test Operations or a related customer service field, which must include demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electric/gas service installations, is required. 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred or demonstrated leadership abilities and skills are required.




Responsibilities: The District Manager will manage, direct, and supervise Energy Services Representative and/or clerical personnel in providing expertise and coordination among various operating departments and customers on technical matters. This coordination of activity is particular to gas and electric service installations to ensure that contractor’s and customer’s installations are in compliance with company specifications and governmental regulations, and that appropriate coordination of company construction activities are adequately in place to ensure timely response to customer needs. Duties also include ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental policies, periodically meet with customers and contractors to determine the level of satisfaction of service received and resolve customer or client complaints. The District Manage will work with others to continually improve the work process to add value for the customer and the Company.


Physical Requirements: Position requires a valid driver's license and a personal car readily available for use. Must be able to travel and work in the field. Must be able to participate in company emergency response activities, and on occasions, will be required to respond to emergencies on off-shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: Selected applicants must have a minimum of an A.A.S. degree (Civil or Mechanical preferred) or Vocational/ Technical High School Degree and two (2) years of equivalent and relevant design work (basic ventilation, concrete, or steel design) will be accepted. The ideal candidate must be dedicated, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and on teams. The individual must have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with personnel on all levels. The candidate must have high computer proficiency (proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge in Microsoft Office, Suite, etc.). Qualified candidates must also have the ability to perform drafting and design in AutoCAD 2D as well as the capability to read and interpret layouts and/or drawings (structural, civil, electric, gas and steam), as well as understanding and following all related company engineering specifications. Junior designers will be responsible to design and prepare drawings related to the addition of new and repair of existing facilities in the electric distribution system. Duties include design of all related structural elements for vault structures as well as placement and design of electrical equipment and bus detail as specified in company's specifications and procedures. Familiarity with local building codes and the ability to perform calculations based on these regulations is preferred. Applicant will be responsible for coordinating design work with customers, engineers, and other personnel. Junior Designers position requires the support of our operating departments so the selected applicants must be available to respond to off-hour system emergencies. Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. The working environment consists of both office and occasional field settings. Fieldwork may require extensive walking, climbing of ladders, bending, and entry into manholes/confined spaces.
