Qualifications: Substation Operations is looking to hire an Associate Engineer A (Dielectric) to join its team. Must be self-motivated, resourceful and articulate. Must possess a 'can-do' attitude, have a clear sense of accountability and understand what it takes to meet customers’ needs. The successful candidate will review and analyze data related to the dielectric system. He/She will initiate leak committee calls and ensure leak reporting is in accordance with procedures. Coordinate dielectric system upgrades with Central Engineering to create a link between that organization and the end users. The successful candidate must be able to exercise independent judgment and have excellent presentation skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. 2 years’ work experience in operations, maintenance and construction of Hydraulic Systems is preferred. Familiarity/knowledge of the Dielectric Fluid Systems and the relevant equipment associated is preferred. Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics required. Experience with environmental procedures and requirements required. Must have strong written, oral, presentation, and communication skills. Computer skills are required including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project.



Experience with USi LDS, MAC Products System, CSTEOS and Maximo preferred.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will handle the following responsibilities: Analyzes Dielectric System Data including pumphouse pressure charts, daily tank level trends, flow meter readings, USi Leak Detection System and dielectric trending system to determine any possible oil leaks. Ensures periodic readings are conducted regularly to monitor potential leaks. Convenes the leak committee for further action on potential leaks. Gathers necessary data and information for reporting during leak committee activities. Ensures that leak reporting is in accordance with all company and regulatory procedures. Generates leak review and critique reports focusing on lessons learned and ways to improve the leak detection, search and resolution processes. Creates a monthly report of all leak activity including total oil loss and oil lost to the environment based on calculations and field reports. Performs DEC mandated quarterly tests on automated leak detection systems (USi and MAC products). Maintains oil inventory and plans oil movement and storage needs. Works with Central Engineering and the Field Operations Planner in the design and planning of Dielectric Systems upgrades. Provides technical support for field organizations in construction and maintenance of the dielectric system. Ensures Control Center is compliant with all dielectric procedures. Ensures dielectric operating drawings are accurate and commensurate with field conditions. Enters leak related data into CTSEOS and coordinates leak mitigation schedules with transmission operations. Presents information and standing compared to leak goals to upper-management upon request. Analyzes historical data to optimize alarm criteria for various leak warning systems.


Physical Requirements: Valid Driver's License required. Must be able to travel to company locations as needed.

Qualifications: Substations Operations Protective Systems Testing in Queens, NY is looking for Electrical Technicians (Local 1-2) to will perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on protective relays and systems, substation equipment, control systems and telephone lines in substations and other field locations. Candidates for this position must possess an Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, or related field of study. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field of study or candidates having completed two-year United States military academic programs including Nuclear Electronics Technician, Nuclear Electrician, and Aviation Electronics Technician are welcome. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.




Responsibilities: Candidates must have a strong knowledge of basic AC and DC electrical power theory and circuit analysis, including three phase AC power systems, as well as a strong working knowledge of mathematics and the ability to perform calculations involving basic trigonometry and vector analysis. Candidates must have knowledge and experience with computer systems and must be able to use these to perform automated testing, as well as prepare spreadsheets and technical reports. Candidates must also possess excellent verbal and written communications skills. All candidates will be required to pass both a written placement exam and structured interview for the PST Electrical Technician position.  




Physical Requirements: The nature of this job requires extensive walking, climbing, and standing, and the ability to push, pull, and lift equipment and materials weighing up to 60 lbs. Candidates must be able and willing to work in various weather and station conditions, including heat, noise, and in confined spaces. Candidates must be able and willing to work with, and in the vicinity of high voltage and other high-energy systems. Candidates must also be able and willing to safely climb ladders and work on top of elevated platforms and equipment, as well as in manholes below grade. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for daily use on Company business is required. This position may require working various shifts and overtime to meet job schedules. The work location is: Queens, NY

Qualifications: Substations Operations Manhattan Construction is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual that possesses a high regard for personal accountability to fill a Supervisor position. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high energy level and promote a positive work ethic in support of our corporate values. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and be able to render sound business decisions. Must be detail oriented, able to work under pressure and handle multiple concurrent assignments. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, good presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management. Must be computer literate and be able to apply practical applications in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows operating systems. Familiarity with transmission and distribution electrical systems, including transformers, high voltage circuit breakers, dielectric fluid system, and basic relay protection is required. A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years of experience in the operations, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment, or equivalent education/experience is required. Equivalent education/experience includes an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of four years of experience in the operations, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment or a High School Diploma and five years of experience or more in the operations, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment. Supervisory experience in multiple assignments is preferred. Technical experience in the operation, maintenance, construction, inspection or repair of electrical transmission and distribution system including substation operations, and/or field operations, switchgear installation, grounding practices, circuit breaker mechanics, cable fault locating processes and distribution feeder processing is strongly preferred.




Responsibilities: Directly supervises the operations and maintenance of transmission and distribution equipment and controls in substation facilities. Ensures operating personnel comply with all company and organizational rules and regulations. Ensures that all work functions within substations are in compliance with safety procedures, OSHA laws and general environmental instructions. Initiates preliminary accident investigations, investigates substation abnormalities, job status and equipment functions within substations and submits reports. Plans, organizes, schedules and assigns personnel to meet operating and climatic conditions to optimize productivity. Enforces good housekeeping practices for equipment and work areas. Enforces company procedures, e.g. Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), substance abuse, discipline and security. May perform other related assignments as required.


Physical Requirements: Position requires extensive walking and climbing, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be medically approved to wear a respirator. Position also requires working off-shifts when necessary. Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel within Company service territory.
