Qualifications: Rate Engineering is seeking a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Senior Analyst. The successful candidate must: (a) have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field; (b) have strong analytical skills and at least four years of experience performing detailed analytical and technical studies; (c) have the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with short deadlines; (d) be detail-oriented and well organized; (e) possess strong mathematical, writing and oral communication skills, decision-making and interpersonal skills; (f) have strong presentation skills with or without the use of aids (e.g. Power Point); (g) be able to interact with other departments within the Company, all levels of management and outside contacts; and, (h) possess strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.




Responsibilities: The individual will be responsible for (a) preparing technical cost and revenue allocation studies in support of the Company’s electric, gas and steam rates and services including marginal and embedded cost of service studies; (b) determining unbundled cost components for competitive services; (c) preparing testimony, exhibits and work papers for regulatory proceedings; (d) interpreting regulatory commission orders to determine their impact on cost-of-service indications; (e) participating in the department’s efforts to meet REV-related obligations; (f) interacting, communicating and exchanging information with personnel from other Company departments and from other utilities in the conduct of job responsibilities; (g) representing the Company at meetings with regulatory agencies and other outside organizations with regard to cost-based rates. These functions must be performed independently, accurately and on a timely basis. The individual must: (a) maintain well organized files and accurate records, including maintaining back-up for computer files, documenting procedures and safeguarding computer facilities, reports, and work papers; (b) when applicable, train the subsection’s personnel to develop skills required in the preparation of work assignments; (c) perform other related assignments as required to support the Department; (d) ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations; and, (e) be committed to the Company’s Way We Work Principles demonstrating behaviors in compliance with the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and Enhancing the Customer Experience.



Candidates who apply for this position will be required to demonstrate their Excel and Word skills and analytic ability. Recent writing samples may be required.

Physical Requirements: Candidates must: (a) have a valid driver’s license; (b) be willing to travel within and outside the Con Edison and O&R service territories as needed; and, (c) be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
