Qualifications: The position is located in Astoria. This position requires four years of experience in welding, including: the ability to read, understand and follow welding procedures with proficiency in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), as well as demonstrated skill in oxygen/acetylene cutting of steel plates and piping. Experience with gas metal arc welding is also desirable. Candidate must have experience reading blueprints and sketches and must be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge and skill are required but not limited to the following areas: use of hand and power tools, troubleshooting mechanical equipment, safe work practices, knowledge of environmental policies and procedures, and the ability to perform standard maintenance functions. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.



Candidate selected for this position must be able to work overtime based on operational needs. Qualifications in such codes as ASME B31.1 and API 1104 using shielded metal arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding, as well as ASWD1.1 certification are desirable. Responsibilities:


Physical Requirements: Selected candidate must be capable of lifting 45-50 pounds, work in confined spaces, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and walk, climb and stand extensively. Selected candidate must also possess a valid driver's license and be medically qualified to wear a respirator.

Qualifications: The Construction Management Department is looking for a dedicated professional to join the Construction Survey Section. The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated individual, self-reliant, resourceful, and articulate with excellent leadership skills that can exercise good judgment and render sound technical decisions. To succeed in this position, the selected candidate must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Company's Corporate Values and Mission. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess in depth surveying knowledge of the company electric/gas transmission and distribution systems. The candidate must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with contractors, City agency representatives and Company organizations at various levels. The candidate must possess knowledge of Survey specifications and procedures. Knowledge of the company mapping applications, AutoCAD, Projectwise, Microsoft Office, Oracle and Survey GIS is required. Bachelor’s degree In Survey or Civil Engineering or related discipline and 5 years of work experience in planning and supervision of survey work is preferred. Associates degree in Civil Engineering or Survey with 7 years of work experience in planning and supervision of survey work will be considered for this position.




Responsibilities: The Senior Specialist ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations. Responsible for planning and scheduling of all survey work in the Section. Coordinates survey mapping efforts with various company departments and outside contractors. Maintains inter and infra departmental communication to ensure timely completion of surveys for major projects. Communicate cost and project concerns to internal and external customers. Ensures all requirements for DEP and DOT permits are met. Acts as a liaison with various governmental agencies on survey related issues. Strives to improve productivity and the work performance of the field forces. Reviews relevant procedures and specifications with employees for compliance, accuracy, and employee development. Openly communicates the importance of working the plan, safety, environmental awareness and the importance of proving excellent customer service. Must be committed to fostering a Zero Accident Culture, Achieving Operational Excellence and Developing an effective Cost Management Culture and Enhancing customers experience. May perform other related assignments/special project as required.


Physical Requirements: This position requires a valid driver’s license and a personnel vehicle to be used to travel to various work locations within the company service territory. Must be able to work flexible hours and work in extreme hot or cold temperatures. Must be medically approved to wear a half face respirator. May be required to walk, climb, and stand for extended periods of time.
