Qualifications: The B/Q Environmental Operations Group seeks to hire an energetic, highly motivated, customer focused individual who demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence and understands the vital importance of personal accountability. A Bachelor Degree and 2 years of work experience, or an Associate Degree and 4 years of work experience, or a H.S. Diploma and 5 years of work experience are required. This individual must have excellent organizational skills as well as possess strong leadership, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills; must be flexible to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities, and must be able to exercise independent judgment to arrive at sound, productive business decisions. Widespread analytical capabilities related to cost management, excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the electric distribution system are required. Strong computer skills in Outlook, and Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word and Power Point is required. Working knowledge of all Environmental, Health and Safety concerns and Contractor Oversight is required. Must be able to demonstrate experience with procurement and contractor services.



A Bachelor's degree and Military leadership experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities: Directly supervise subordinate personnel in spill response and cleaning of Underground Electrical Structures along with oversight of the local Waste Water Treatment Facility. As an Electric Operations employee, you will be on the front line every day and are therefore counted on to deliver safe and reliable service while meeting or exceeding the service expectations of our customers. The Operating Supervisor must ensure that all work activities of both Company and Contractors are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures by conducting Job Briefings, Safety Talks, and by conducting Job Site Safety Exchanges. Evaluate work performance of subordinates on an on-going basis and provide timely feedback and coaching to improve quality and productivity. Advance and engage workforce in the work resource management process.


Physical Requirements: This position requires light lifting, walking, standing, climbing and entry into electric underground structures. The selected candidate may be required to work various schedules, including weekend, holidays, nights and off hours. Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold climates, and respond to emergencies when necessary. Position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL.

Qualifications: Brooklyn/Queens Electric Operations seeks to recruit an Operating Supervisor for its Emergency Operations. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years related experience or an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience or a High School Diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of five years related experience. Must be familiar with underground/overhead cable splicing techniques, both primary and secondary, cable installation and I & A services and equipment installation and maintenance. Must have knowledge in Prints and Plate reading. Must have knowledge of relevant corporate environmental and safety procedures. Must have the ability to supervise employees. Must have strong leadership abilities to work effectively with all levels of management and union personnel. Must possess a high energy level, be flexible, and be able to demonstrate the ability to handle multiple assignments. Must be a self-starter, be able to exercise independent judgment and possess the ability to render sound business decisions. Must be willing to work overtime and be on call 24 hours a day, to include storm and heat-related emergency work. Must be willing to work rotating shifts including weekends and Holidays. Must be a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates a strong Commitment to Excellence and understands the vital importance of personal accountability. Must have excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. Excellent analytical, administrative, oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of Logica applications and additional computer systems are required, including Microsoft Office Suite (Internet Explorer, Excel, Power Point).




Responsibilities: The Operating Supervisor directs and manages Emergency field forces in the safe, expeditious and efficient repair of the Overhead and Underground cable distribution system during local system emergencies while minimizing service interruptions. The Operating Supervisor should be knowledgeable of our incident command system and be prepared to utilize ICS to coordinate an emergency response. Also, provides initial analysis of actions and repairs required to safely restore the electrical distribution system. Ensures the safety of our people and our customers by leading the team in following policies, procedures and ensuring safe behaviors are exhibited on each work assignment. The Operating Supervisor acts as liaison between the field crews and the Control Center to give timely updates to assist in giving accurate ETR’s. . Ensures that quality of work performed is consistent and within specifications. The Operating Supervisor will review the Daily Supervisor Summary report after each shift to ensure the work is properly documented and the accounting is accurate. The Operating Supervisor will adhere to and enforce Company policies and procedures in reference to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), substance abuse, discipline, security and ethics. Available to assist with system emergencies 24 hours a day. Enforce good housekeeping practices for equipment, vehicles and work areas.


Physical Requirements: Position requires walking and climbing at field sites, and extensive driving to various locations in the field. Must be able to withstand working outdoors in all types of weather conditions for extended periods of time. Position requires medical approval for respirator fit testing and use. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications: Bronx & Westchester Electric Operations is seeking and Operating Supervisor to join its Emergency Operations section. The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate a high energy level, commitment to safety, operational excellence, and the customer experience, and exhibit Con Edison’s Corporate Values. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year work experience and demonstrated value-added assignments in multiple organizations. Must have a good understanding of the underground, overhead and underground residential distribution (URD) electric distribution systems. The successful candidate must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills that will result in effective interactions with customer, operating/field personnel, and corporate management. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate excellent problem solving abilities. Must have knowledge of relevant corporate environmental and safety procedures. Furthermore, the candidate must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and be able to handle multiple assignments while meeting required deadlines. The candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to evaluate, prioritize, and respond rapidly to changing conditions. The candidate must be able to supervise both company and contractor employees and manage productivity. Must have the ability to understand and interpret M&S plates, diagrams, feeder prints, and specifications. Must be willing to work rotating shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays, and must be willing to work overtime and be on-call 24 hours a day, including storm- and heat-related emergency work.



Bachelor’s Degree or greater preferred. Knowledge of the following business tools preferred: iProcurement, Business intelligence, Internet Explorer, e2MIS, STAR, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Logica (Field Manager, ARM Web Portal, and WMS Reports

Responsibilities: The Operating Supervisor will supervise emergency response and construction activity, including physical installation, repair, maintenance, removal, replacement, testing, and inspection, on the underground, overhead, and URD electric systems, including both primary and secondary equipment. Ensure the construction, repair, and restoration of the electric system is performed in compliance with company specifications and procedures. Assign crews to the appropriate operating authority when performing applicable work. Respond to field emergencies and interface with various governmental agencies. Review and analyze employee time reporting in WMS Web Portal and on DCAR sheets to improve productivity and ensure proper accounting. Utilize computer systems as necessary to schedule and monitor work. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company procedures and government regulations. Participate in employee development of self and direct reports. Ensure compliance with training requirements, procedures, and specifications. Celebrate success, reward exemplary performance, and correct performance deficiencies. Must be available to work overtime and be on-call 24 hours a day, including storm emergency work. Must have a valid driver’s license. Employees may be required to work a rotating shift. Position requires working out of various locations across the Bronx and Westchester service territory.
