Occupational Health is seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual to join its team. The Associate Specialist candidate must a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years related work experience. Minimum of two year college degree preferred. Medical assistant certificate preferred. MRO assistant certificate or obtain within three months of hire required. Minimum of one year of experience in outpatient clinic or similar. Occupational Health experience preferred. The incumbent must have professional, polished oral and written communication skills in person, over the phone, and through email. Must have exceptional customer service skills. Proficiency in computer applications MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Previous experience with electronic medical records, specifically Medgate, preferred. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills will allow candidates to be flexible to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines, which is also required for this position. Experience working with confidential information.

Responsibilities: Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. As an employee, you need to commit to these ideals of development a proactive, customer centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers and improve value for all of our stakeholders Serve as the primary contact for Administrative and Staff Physicians as part of clinic operations. Act in the capacity as the representative for the clinic to internal and external partners, and respond to inquiries. Support the department and liaise between Occupational Health and company departments, employees, private physicians, hospitals and vendors. Participate with OH personnel in the planning, development and implementation of special projects. Receives, collects data for review by administrative physician, processes, enters results in appropriate database and notifies departments of results of pre-employment, re-employment, return from leave, reinstatement, job sensitive and job sensitive exams/evaluations and other Occupational Health exams not otherwise covered by the medical technician staff. Serve as the program administrator for regulatory surveillance exams such as asbestos, silica and lead programs. Includes developing and maintaining a tracking system, preparing letters detailing results of Occupational Exams with abnormal results for Administrative Physician signature/review and mailing to employees, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Receives all non-negative drug and alcohol tests for review by MRO. Assists MRO with correspondence with employees. Maintains log of all non-negative drug test results in ledgers. Prepares disability letters for review and signature by MRO. Communicate with staff physician on behalf of Administrative Physicians. Coordinate with other unit staff to assure clinic operations. Provide support to Administrative Physician. Includes scheduling appointments for Administrative and Staff physicians for employee follow-up visits, medical trailers, specialists, laboratories and radiology departments, managing program or office documentation, and coordinating conference calls or travel arrangements. Coordinate messages and provide feedback between employees and treating providers. Triage and process messages from employees, operating groups and office staff to physician and other clinic staff when cannot answer inquiries directly. Help prepare and send out correspondence to employees’ treating providers. Give instruction to employees as directed by Administrative Physicians. Gathers and prepare records, including medical information and drug test results for review. Maintain employee confidentiality and protect integrity of Personally Identifiable Information/Personal Health Information. Serve as a back-up for Specialist who provides support for Administrative Physician. Additional projects as required to support department goals.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans are required.

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing or Physician Assistant program, hold an active NY State license and hold a current specialty certification. NRCME certification or willingness to obtain within three months of hire. Board Certification preferred. Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations. Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary care, urgent care of emergency room setting. Occupational Health experience preferred. The incumbent must have professional, polished oral and written communication skills in person, over the phone, and through email. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Expertise in computer applications MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required. Previous experience with electronic medical records, specifically Medgate, is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills are required to be effective in this role. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills will allow the incumbent to be flexible to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines, which is also required for this position.

Qualifications: Occupational Health is seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual to join its team as a staff physician. The ideal candidate must be a Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) with a minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in a primary care, urgent care or emergency room setting. Candidate must have license to practice medicine in New York State, or the ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license upon appointment. Must be board certificated /board eligible in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine. Other specialty areas will be considered depending on experience. If not board certified at time of hire, must obtain within one year of hire. NRCME certification or willingness to obtain within three months of hire. MRO certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire. Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations. Minimum of three years’ experience in occupational health preferred. The incumbent must have professional, polished oral and written communication skills in person, over the phone, and through email. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in computer applications MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required. Previous experience with electronic medical records, specifically Medgate, preferred. Participate in arbitrations and unemployment insurance/worker’s compensation hearings as needed. May participate in epidemiologic studies to monitor occupational health trends throughout the company and assist in providing guidance for quality improvements in the clinic. Stay abreast of current trends and scientific literature in the occupational health field with particular attention to the utility industry. Provide support to the Director and Administrative Physicians during periods of his/her absence. Maintain employee confidentiality and protect the integrity of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Personal Health Information (PHI). Perform all other duties assigned by the Administrative Physician and Director in support of Departmental function. Other projects, related tasks and assignments as required.
