Qualifications: 59th Street is seeking to recruit a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates a strong service-oriented work ethic Bachelor's degree in a technical area preferred. A HS Degree or GED with a minimum of 5 years work experience in a power plant, merchant shipping or industrial environment is required. Experience in computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access and familiarity with Work Management Systems is required. Candidate must demonstrate a high energy level, be well organized, detail-oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have: • work experience associated with the repair and maintenance of pumps, motors, turbines, boiler tube repairs, welding, valve repairs, pipe fitting, and plumbing, • knowledge of weld procedures and /N.D.E requirements and piping specifications, • experience with equipment assembly, blue print reading, and coupling alignment. • experience or working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance, • excellent leadership and communication skills along with the ability to work as part of a team, • a valid TWIC card or obtain after 3 months of hire date. We prefer: • intermediate electrical skills such as 440V breaker preventative maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting of motor control centers, electrical blue print reading/schematics and knowledge of electrical test equipment/use, • knowledge of Contractor oversight • possession of an Asbestos Supervisors license. If candidate does not possess license at time of selection, candidate must obtain license within one year of assignment.




Responsibilities: The successful candidate will • supervise union personnel or contractor personnel in the area of Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance. • be responsible for the safety, productivity and quality workmanship of his/her assigned personnel, for all types of power plant maintenance. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: • enforcing all contractual and local work rules, assigning personnel to jobs in accordance with the Weekly Work Schedule and adhering to the station schedule, performing administrative tasks in MAXIMO daily. • Work with the Planning Supervisor to improve work plans and provide feedback to planners on work plans completed. • Ensure the all personnel use and follow all developed Maintenance, Station and Company procedures. • Attend the daily management meetings to report job progress, be fully knowledgeable of work scopes and submit Work Permit Requests in a clear and concise manner. • Directs the safe, environmentally compliant, efficient utilization of employees and materials in the repair and overhaul of power plant equipment. • Plans and lays out work schedules, critical paths as needed. • document work performed on a daily basis in the Maintenance log and entries made daily in the work management system MAXIMO. • Scan all technical and other documents such as coupling alignment data, bearing and shaft reading, completed procedures, etc. and other critical data into MAXIMO for historical reference during or at the completion of each job as applicable. The position will require good communications skills, good organizational skills and working as a team with other organizations such as EH&S, I&C, Planning, Operations and Engineering. The efficient and proper handling of multiple assignments is essential for success in this position.


Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to work in a power plant environment with extreme heat conditions, noise, high elevations, and confined spaces. Must be able to work under conditions of high temperatures and at high elevations in the plant. Must be medically approved for respirator fit testing and use in a power plant environment. Position requires extensive walking, climbing, and standing.



MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EXTENDED SHIFTS, OFF SHIFTS AND WEEKENDS AS NEEDED TO SUPPORT THE OPERATIONS OF THE PLANT.

Qualifications: Steam Operations is looking to hire a talented and motivated individual to join it’s team at 59th Street Station as an Operating Supervisor (1H) or Shift Supervisor (2L). A High School Diploma with 5-7 years’ work experience in a power plant, US Navy, or merchant shipping environment as applicable is required, however, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with 3-5 years’ work experience in a power plant, US Navy, or merchant shipping environment is preferred. Must have working knowledge of control room procedures, oil or gas fired steam generators, steam turbine generators, gas turbines, high/low pressure steam auxiliary operations, plant trouble shooting, boiler mechanics, blueprint reading, equipment assembly, and pipe fitting. The candidate must have knowledge of safe work practices and procedures, operating orders/work permits (lockout-tagout) and use of appropriate personal protective equipment including SCBAs. Strong communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team are required. The Operating Supervisor (1H) must possess 3-5 years of work experience in a power plant / merchant shipping. Must have the ability to obtain a NYC Stationary Engineer License in 1-2 years of obtaining the position. The Shift Supervisor (2L) must possess 5-7 years of work experience in a power plant / merchant shipping and a NYC Stationary Engineer License. Applicants in possession of a NYC Stationary Engineer License or which are currently in the process of obtaining the license are strongly preferred.




Responsibilities: Produce steam and electric energy for customers by ensuring the safe, efficient and environmentally compliant operations of the generating station. Oversee the operation of plant equipment which may include gas turbine generators, steam turbines, high pressure boilers, high voltage switch gear and auxiliary equipment. Supervise the startup and shutdown of equipment under normal and emergency conditions, and render decisions to remove equipment from service or to continue operations. Communicates with the System Operations Department on unit dispatch, outages, and electrical switching. Reports environmental incidents in a timely manner and prepares appropriate reports. Prepares reports associated with root cause analysis for investigation of critical incidents. Issues Operating Orders and Work Permits as required ensuring optimal operating conditions. Conduct safety talks and OJTs to reaffirm the critical importance of compliance with all applicable safe work practices, procedures, governmental regulations, and overall development of all direct reports.


Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be medically approved for respirator fit testing and use in a power plant environment. Position requires extensive walking and standing. This individual must be physically able to work in a power plant environment (extreme heat conditions, noise, high elevations and confined spaces). Must be willing to work a full rotational shift schedule that includes working on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: 74th Street Station is seeking to recruit a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates a strong Commitment to Environmental Excellence and understands the vital importance of personal accountability, and is committed to improving work processes and EHS performance. Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics or Biological Science) and 2 years EHS experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in non-related field and 1 year operating experience and 2 years of related EH&S experience OR Associates Degree in a technical discipline and 3 years’ operating experience and 2 years EH&S related experience OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years’ operating experience and a minimum of 2 years of EH&S related experience required. Minimum of 2 years documented work experience in regulatory compliance, environmental science, safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, and/or waste management. A working knowledge of Federal, State, and City environmental laws and regulations applicable to Station operations is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required. Candidate must be committed to improving work processes and EH&S performance. Strong organization skills, multi-tasking ability and attention to detail are required. Candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively interact with regulatory agencies, union employees and all levels of management. Strong influence and persuasion skills are required to drive process and performance improvements while encouraging a team-spirited environment in support of Con Edison’s Corporate Values.



Work experience in an operating power plant is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Senior Specialist will provide field support to ensure compliance with all environmental & safety regulations, programs, and procedures that is consistent with the Company's commitment to EH&S Excellence. The primary subject matter areas include: oil (PBS, MOSF, SPCC, Pipeline) , waste management, PCB, chemical, air, water, asbestos, and land use and support within various safety program areas such as lock out/tag out, confined space, fire protection, materials handling and industrial hygiene. Conducts compliance reporting, inspections and tests, incident investigation, program implementation, documentation, and project oversight. Presents training to Station personnel in various safety & environmental subject matter areas. Reviews operations and maintenance activities to ensure regulatory compliance. Reviews permit preparation and maintenance, procedure development and maintenance, incident report development, and various additional recordkeeping activities. Ensure that all personnel at the facility use sound EH&S practices in accordance with Company policy and government regulations.



Assist with reviewing Environmental Self-Assessments, EMIS and SHIMS

Physical Requirements: Must be qualified to wear full and half-face respirators. Must be able to work in hot and cold conditions with respiratory protection and PPE. Must be available for emergency response and outage related
