Responsibilities: In addition to being the primary modeler for the PROMOD and STONER programs, the position will maintain the outage schedules, perform technical and economic forecasts for the production and purchase of steam, maintain and upgrade the Steam MIMIC system, prepare testimony for regulatory proceedings, and contribute to developing operating plans to assure reliable service at reasonable costs while complying with applicable regulations. The position will liaison with Energy Management, System Operations, Corporate EH&S, Steam Business Development, Long Range Planning, and Strategic Planning. The position will also assist with preparedness and support for Steam’s responses to corporate emergencies, rain/storm events, and oil spills.


Physical Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory as needed.

Qualifications: Five years in-depth work experience in the field of a Power Generation or related industries would be a prerequisite for this position. Candidate must have basic knowledge of PC computer systems. Candidate must have HS Diploma or GED. A minimum Associate Applied Science technical degree or equivalent is desirable. Specifically, the ideal candidate will be required to have: Experience with installing, maintaining and/or calibrating instrument and control systems is required (i.e. level and pressure transmitters, limit switches, motor and pneumatic valve actuators, solenoid valve actuators, transducers, etc.) Knowledge of basic electricity, Programmable Logic Cards, Digital Control Systems, the proper use of test equipment, print reading and troubleshooting (Hi Pot test, Di electric test, Etc.) of control circuits Installation experience in rigid tubing for pneumatic and hydraulic applications Knowledge in the area of industrial safety. In depth experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and installing electrical power system equipment such as motors, motor control circuits, high and low voltage circuit breakers, conduit, batteries, cable, etc. Know how to use various field power tools, measuring and test equipment, be able to read electrical prints/schematics, have a working knowledge of industrial safety and a basic knowledge of electrical theory and math. In addition, a basic working knowledge in the following areas of expertise is preferred: machine shop, confined spaces, precision instruments, pumps, coupling alignment, bearing maintenance, pipe fitting, rigging, scaffolding, crane operation, mechanical drawing, skyclimber/hanging platform and oxy-acetylene torch cutting, Knowledge of the NEC is an additional benefit. Estimate manpower resources, materials, special tools and equipment required to perform corrective and preventative maintenance of power plant equipment and piping systems. Develop job plans as required to complete each job in an effective and timely manner. Candidate will originate purchase and class/stock orders and will follow up on the status of those orders. Assure that all work orders and equipment history are entered in the required computer systems. Consult and review technical manuals, instruction books, prints, sketches, manufacturer's catalogs, equipment history records and other references for specifications and performance information to assist in planning process. Identify spare parts and equipment located in various storerooms for use in field repairs. Work with EH&S, Engineering and other Departments, as necessary, to gather information to be used in Job Plans. May perform special job related assignments and studies as required. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills.


















Responsibilities:


Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be able to perform heavy manual labor (push, pull and lift 45-60 lbs.) and to do extensive walking, standing and climbing. Candidates must be willing to work in a physically demanding work environment (i.e., work in all weather conditions, in confined spaces and in hot and cold ambient temperatures). Candidates must be clean shaven and medically approved to wear a respirator to include fit testing for 1/2 face, full face and SCBA respirator use. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant work experience. Must have working knowledge of gas and steam turbines, high pressure boilers, heat recovery steam generators, auxiliary equipment, startup testing, repairs/mechanics, blueprint reading, pipe fitting, equipment assembly, safety. Must have knowledge of safe work practices/procedures, operating orders, work permits and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Strong communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team are required.



The Operating Supervisor (1H) must possess 3-5 years of work experience in a power plant / merchant shipping. 5-7 years’ work experience in a power plant / merchant shipping is preferred. Must have the ability to obtain a NYC Stationary Engineer License in 1-2 years of obtaining the position. The Shift Supervisor (2L) must possess 5-7years of work experience in a power plant / merchant shipping and a NYC Stationary Engineer License. Upon successful qualification and knowledge of all East River station assets, combined with good leadership abilities, this individual would meet the requirements to be promoted to Senior Watch Supervisor (2H).

Responsibilities: Produce steam and electric energy for customers by ensuring the safe, efficient and environmentally compliant operations of the generating station. Oversee the operation of plant equipment which includes gas and steam turbine generators, high pressures boilers, heat recovery steam generators, high voltage switch gear and auxiliary equipment. Supervise the startup and shutdown of equipment under normal and emergency conditions, and render decisions to remove equipment from service or to continue operations. Serve as liaison between System Operation Department and Central information Group (CIG). Prepare reports associated with root cause analysis for investigation of critical incidents. Issue Operating Orders and Work Permits as required to ensure safe operating conditions. Conduct safety talks to reaffirm the critical importance of compliance with all applicable safe work practices and procedures, and governmental regulations.


Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be medically approved for respirator fit testing and use in a power plant environment. Position requires extensive walking and standing. This individual must be physically able to work in a power plant environment (extreme heat conditions, noise, high elevations and confined spaces). Must be willing to work a full rotational shift schedule that includes working on weekends and holidays.

This position is Monday through Friday day watch Supervisor, this is not a rotating shift position.

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to work in a power plant environment with extreme heat conditions, noise, high elevations, and confined spaces. Must be able to work under conditions of high temperatures and at high elevations in the plant. Must be medically approved for respirator fit testing and use in a power plant environment. Position requires extensive walking, climbing, and standing. Must be willing to work a full rotational shift schedule that includes working on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: The candidate for this position must have an Associate's Degree or higher in Chemistry/Mechanical Technology, or related field or a minimum of four years equivalent technical experience and HS Degree/GED. Knowledge of practical application to power plant equipment is required in regards to EITHER water treatment processing/chemical and gas sampling for analysis OR thermodynamic theory and fluid dynamics. Must have experience in PC based software (i.e. Microsoft Office programs). Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The normal working hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm. However, certain periodic and emergency circumstances will involve work at nights and on weekends and/or overtime beyond regular 8 hours shift.



The candidate will conduct various tests of power plant equipment. These tests can include, but are not limited to: boiler water sampling (pH, salt, and phosphate), lube oil analysis, gas purity, atmospheric safety testing, dew point analysis and environmental monitoring sampling programs, vibration testing on rotating equipment, turbine/boiler thermodynamic testing and auxiliary equipment performance testing. The candidate will also be responsible for compiling routine data and special reports to evaluate trends and efficiency.
