Qualifications: Con Edison Steam Business Services is seeking a highly motivated dedicated professional to join the Performance and Optimization team. The Analyst (1H) will be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, efficient and economical generation of electricity and/or steam by tracking and analyzing generating station operational data, evaluating equipment performance, developing IT solutions to improve Steam Operations processes and procedures as well as responding to corporate cyber security requirements. The Senior. Analyst (2L) will be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, efficient and economical generation of electricity and/or steam by tracking and analyzing generating station operational data, evaluating equipment performance, developing IT solutions to improve Steam Operations processes and procedures as well as responding to corporate cyber security requirements. Successful candidates should have experience in or knowledge of steam/Power utility Engineering, which include boiler, combustion turbines, steam turbines, acceptance testing, plant inspection and the balance of plant auxiliaries. Will provide technical assistance for the safe, reliable environmentally compliant, efficient and economical generation of electricity and/or steam by tracking and analyzing generating station and system heat rate data and evaluating equipment performance. Must work with IT and Generating Stations to upgrade and automate the existing performance tracking system. Must work with Operational and Technical groups at the Generating Stations to improve IT systems used by stations performance technicians. Must be highly dedicated with strong communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team. Must be flexible to handle multiple assignments. Knowledge of corporate IT system architecture is preferred. Project management experience preferred. For the Analyst (1H): Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT or related technical discipline with 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s degree in IT or technical field with 4 years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience is required. For the Sr. Analyst (2L): Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT or related technical discipline with 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s degree in IT or technical field with 5 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience is required.




Responsibilities: The primary objectives and responsibilities include: Leveraging technology to identify trends, analyze and interpret data for efficiency improvements in station performance with a goal of moving from time-based monitoring toward condition-based monitoring, and improving efficiency in Steam Services and Station Performance reporting. Assist with Steam Operations IT projects from initiation through project completion. This includes creating project scoping documents, appropriations and requisitions for the acquisition of new technology, management of the software vendors, implementing system changes, updating current working estimates for each project and addressing all technical questions through full project implementation. Program manager for IT initiatives and IT programs. This includes meeting with Engineering, Station personnel and Technical Managers regularly, to identify ways to reach optimal performance at the lowest cost to customers, come up with new cost savings ideas, implement enhancements and apply them consistently throughout Steam Operations. Analyze test results for boilers, gas turbines and auxiliary equipment, and issue recommendations for corrective action. Monitor monthly station performance trends and leverage technology to make recommendations to Station Operations, Maintenance and System Engineering Groups for more efficient operation. Manage and analyze large data streams from steam distribution and generation through the use of technology. Utilize computer programs and modeling techniques to monitor data exceptions, and diagnose problems that affect the cost of steam and equipment reliability. Work with steam generation and distribution to assist in the development of streamlined reporting programs for more efficient data stream utilization. Participate in research, analysis and potential implementation of AMI for the Steam organization. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management and storm plans as required.

The ability to use electrical and electronic test equipment and work as a team member as well as independently is a must.

Responsibilities:



Candidate will be responsible for performing the necessary testing, repairing, and preventative maintenance in a generating location on hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic control systems and instrumentation along with ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. Candidate will also handle projects involving the implementation of design changes, major maintenance activities, including fuel systems, chemical treatment systems, and auxiliary equipment systems. Candidates should have strong oral and written communications skills along with the ability to read and understand process and instrument diagrams as well as mechanical and electrical drawings. Comprehensive knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controls is preferred. Work location is various locations of New York City and Westchester.

Physical Requirements:

The nature of this job requires extensive walking/climbing/standing and the ability to push/pull/lift equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. in weight. Candidates must be able to work in various weather and station conditions (e.g., heat, noise, confined spaces) and be medically qualified to wear a respirator. A valid driver's license is required.

Steam Operations is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual who possesses a high regard for personal accountability to fill a Supervisor position in the maintenance areas working with electrical or mechanical systems in multiple plant locations. . The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least two (2) years of related work experience. Candidates should have previous experience in the physical installation, repair, maintenance, removal, replacement, testing or inspection of power plant electrical & mechanical equipment. The ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and be able to provide marked prints of field conditions. Candidates experienced with circuit breaker preventative maintenance, testing of motors and batteries are preferred for electrical supervisors.  Planning, project management, contract administration and comparable time management system experience/knowledge is also preferred.



Responsibilities: The Supervisor will be responsible for the safety, productivity and quality workmanship of assigned personnel for all types of power plant maintenance. Additional duties include: Supervise union personnel and enforcing all contractual and local work rules, assigning personnel to jobs in accordance with the Station weekly work schedule and performing administrative tasks in Con Edison’s time management system daily. Works with the Planning Supervisor to improve work plans and provides feedback to planners on completed work packages. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policies and governmental regulations. Ensures commitment to the Way We Work Principles, adheres to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EH&S”), Diversity and Inclusion, discipline, and security. Responsibilities: The Operations Trainer will develop and schedule on-the-job and formal training courses for Station personnel. Operations Trainer must be able to conduct training courses, develop training material and deliver field instructions to operate station equipment to supplement formal training for operations, and coordinate vendor training. Develop processes and programs to ensure effective operations around corporate, departmental and location policies/ procedures. Develop and write standard operating procedures for Operations Department. Ensures compliance with regard to emergency response training programs. Perform liaison responsibilities by interacting with other company training personnel and emulating their best practices. Operations Trainer will assume the responsibility of the Shift Supervisor to cover the watch as operational needs may dictate.
