Qualifications: Financial Integrity Practice Group, is seeking an experienced individual with a firm foundation in fraud risk management and a background in risk, technology, and/or law enforcement to join its team and lead an exciting new group - the Financial Integrity Practice Group. This new group will focus on mitigating fraud risks enterprise-wide through proactive fraud risk reviews and data analytics, and will leverage resources within Auditing to assist in fraud detection. The director has primary responsibility for managing external and internal fraud risks, including adding visibility to developing trends in new types of fraud threats and refining the control environment to mitigate Con Edison’s exposure. The director will be responsible for establishing a short-term and long-term direction for the fraud risk management program. The director will report to the Vice President and General Auditor. The director must demonstrate experience in designing and conducting fraud risk assessments in various industries and organizations. The selected candidate must have a proven ability to assess the functionality, attributes, limitations and gaps related to fraud across multiple groups and functions. The director must also possess high levels of emotional intelligence and extensive experience leading teams, and supporting and collaborating with others throughout the enterprise to achieve results. This is a highly visible position supporting Con Edison, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates. The selected candidate will be expected to possess: • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, computer science, analytics, law enforcement or related field; Master’s degree is preferred; • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is preferred • Experience in Audit or understanding of controls is preferred • A minimum of 10 years of related-experience, such as, designing, conducting and assessing fraud risk • Expertise in using data analytics tools to develop continuous auditing methodologies • Excellent leadership, project management and organizational skills combined with the managerial acumen necessary to lead teams and manage budgets • Exemplary written and verbal communication/presentation skills • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a manager or supervisor; responsibility for daily operations is preferred • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple business groups to achieve results



Understanding of energy utility industry is preferred

Responsibilities: • Implement anti-fraud program and controls • Design and perform periodic enterprise-wide fraud risk assessments • Design and implement processes for updating the fraud risk assessment • Maintain adequate documentation of testing of anti-fraud programs and controls • Partner with key internal stakeholders to monitor the risk environment and develop landscape review of fraud activity and trends to assess risks to the business • Partner with business groups to monitor, evaluate and integrate fraud risk controls and analytics • Utilize peer and industry benchmarks to assess the organizations’ fraud risks • Design and implement fraud analytics as part of ongoing transactional testing and continuous auditing; work with Auditing, IT and business personnel to leverage data and provide insight into the business • Provide fraud risk areas and known fraud schemes to support education of the organization regarding areas of potential fraud • Support fraud prevention and awareness training programs and other relevant communications, which includes maintaining close interaction with other departments • Provide information to support investigations, handled by another group, related to employee misconduct • Test areas of control framework by performing focused reviews and define the scope of fraud controls • Review and test the comprehensiveness and adequacy of the risks identified by management, especially regarding management override risks • Incorporate fraud risks into annual audit plan development • Proactively identify opportunities to build resilience into the control framework via new solutions (e.g., technology enabled, procedural) for control systems, tools, communications, education and awareness • Develop a repository of fraud risk schemes • Develop requisite anti-fraud policies and procedures • Develop reporting processes and related metrics to monitor the effectiveness of the Financial Integrity Practice group • Ensure alignment with corporate strategy, business objectives, and coordinate with enterprise risk efforts • Communicate strategy and plan through regular updates to corporate leadership, colleagues, audit committee and board of directors; provide assurance that existing controls are appropriate under current risk tolerance • Develop external relationships with peer groups, subject matter experts, agencies and vendors to understand anti-fraud leading practices; participate in industry and topic-specific forums • Responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of Con Edison’s anti-fraud programs and control activities • Direct and manage the implementation of projects and use of consultants, as required, to assist in execution of strategy • Manage and coordinate day-to-day activities related to Con Edison’s anti-fraud programs and control activities, including mentoring and training direct staff; which consists of data analysts and program coordinators, and support fraud training with auditors.



Direct and supervise 4 to 6 direct reports Direct consultant efforts, as required, in support of groups activities The size of the practice will be determined as the program develops and additional resource needs are determined, as required.

Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to travel as required. Must be willing to work through corporate emergencies, be flexible with work hours, be on call as necessary, and respond to Company emergencies.
