Qualifications: The Targeted Demand Management section of Energy Efficiency and Demand Management is seeking a dedicated professional for its management team to oversees all aspects of the Company’s demand management programs (such as demand response and targeted demand management) including design, operational, administrative, budgetary, marketing, performance analysis, reporting, process improvement, customer and stakeholder engagement and manages the team responsible for executing these programs.

Required Skillsets/Qualifications:

Qualifications: Energy Efficiency & Demand is seeking to hire a dedicated professional to expand its management team in the Market Research section. The utility industry is beginning to undergo a transformation that will set its course for the next century, and it is an exciting time to view this transformation from an up-close and personal perspective. A Bachelor’s degree required for this position; preferred in statistics, marketing, economics, energy or related field. An MBA or related Master’s degree preferred. The successful candidate must have a Minimum of five years of business experience in market research or related field. A Minimum of three years of experience with a Master’s Degree. Experience in research strategy, research design, survey research, sampling design, and project management experience is a strong plus. Experience collecting, organizing, and interpreting data a plus. The successful candidate must possess strong computer, technical, and analytical skills. Very strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) are required for this position. Public speaking and presentation experience and skills are a plus. Strong Excel skills are required. Quantitative research skills and experience using statistical analysis tools such as SAS, SPSS or equivalent to develop cross-tabs and ad hoc tables a plus.




Responsibilities: The Sr. Specialist will design, develop, implement, and manage market research studies for use in better understanding electric and gas customers for the benefit of the company, organization, and department – with a particular focus on improving energy efficiency and demand management programs. Will manage and contribute to the existing ongoing research studies such as customer satisfaction and awareness studies. Contribute to design research strategies, surveys, and sampling plans. The Sr. Specialist will create, maintain, and update executive briefing documents and presentations on key projects and activities. Assist in management of relationships with other departments that require research and data assistance as well as provide direct research and data support. Maintain and update market research databases – including links to other company data sources – to enable more in depth and robust views of customers, including demographic and census data. Will use research results and data to provide actionable recommendations to company, organization, and department teams and programs on an ongoing and ad hoc basis. Manage and build relationships with existing vendors and consultants that provided research and data support. The Sr. Specialist will be responsible for identifying, selecting, hiring, onboarding, and managing vendors and consultants as required for market research and data projects. Develop project proposals including RFP development and Purchasing processes management. Perform all project management responsibilities for assigned market research and data projects. Identify and recommend new market research tools or techniques that could improve timing and impact of results. Identify and recommend new data sources or databases that could improve research and analytics projects. Contribute to short-term and long-term plans for identifying needed research project and data sources. Qualifications: The Product and Service Development section of Energy Efficiency and Demand Management is seeking a dedicated professional for its management team to be a leader of our long-term scenario planning efforts, which will involve coordinating departmental portfolio strategy to maximize our energy savings while planning future growth to optimize incentive earnings and manage execution risk in creating, implementing, and dynamically shifting scenario plans for our programs in response to internal and external factors. This includes working closely with multiple sections to optimize the design of the portfolio of Energy Efficiency and Demand Management activities, and this position will have primary responsibility for exploring and investing new technologies, measures, program designs and pilots that will expand on our ability to offer increased savings at lower cost in the future. Responsibilities will also include working closely with Market Research and Analytics, Regulatory, Strategic Services, and other groups to manage and modify forecasts and scenarios of future program performance and to evaluate existing departmental processes and help to shape new processes that will improve efficacy of delivery and achievement. This role will also be responsible for identifying strategic objectives, assigning and coordinating teams to address those objectives, monitoring progress, and implementing results.

Required Skillsets/Qualifications:


A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience


Analytical, project management, and budget management experience.


Excellent oral and written communications skills required.


Familiarity with New York State TRM is required.


Excellent presentation and analytical skills required.

Work with Program Managers, Engineers, and Business Development /Account Executives to identify program measures that should be added, modified, or eliminated to accomplish increased program savings and customer value.


The Project Specialist will work closely with others within the department on budget and forecast functions and will enhance current processes to include a focus on longer term planning and strategy with a particular focus on scenario-based and probabilistic planning.


May represent the Department on program measure issues with DPS Staff, governmental authorities, utilities, and other entities as needed.


The Project Specialist will also be called upon to assist in corporate emergencies as required.

Required Skillsets/Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, and/or construction disciplines required, Professional licensure as applicable preferred.

Qualifications: The Senior Specialist (Targeted Demand Management) supports all aspects of the Company’s Targeted Demand Management programs, including design, operational, administrative, budgetary, marketing, performance analysis, reporting, process improvement, customer and stakeholder engagement and leads the execution of these programs.

Required Skillsets/Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree


Three to five years of work experience, with at least two years in project management roles.


Experience in energy efficiency, or other competitive, market driven utility programs Experience with partners and vendors and/or demand management.


Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus.


Strong communications, presentation, writing skills and analytical skills.


Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to see the big picture and attention to detail.


Ability to make decisions in real-time, under pressure.


Flexibility to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.


Monitor budget and processes.


Present to internal and external stakeholders.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)


Knowledge of project management tools.


 


 


Preferred Skillsets/Qualifications:


Master’s degree or MBA


Degree in Engineering, Economics, Information Technology, or related fields.


Technical writing skills.


 



Responsibilities:

Lead special projects and/or specific program initiatives targeted at specific levels of the electric transmission and distribution system, for specific customer segments, and/or in collaboration with other Company, state or city programs or state/city entity programs (such as NYSERDA).


Manage all required relationships including vendors, customers, as well as internal and external stakeholders.


Establish processes, policies and procedures for the regular consideration/ integration of Demand Side Management (DSM) solutions into the Company or external entity planning.


Analyze project specific customer demographics to identify appropriate DSM measures and potential load relief attainable via DSM.


Work with Market Research & Analytics and Building Engineering teams to identify and fill gaps in market/ technology data.


Perform and evaluate cost/benefit ratio of the project/initiative and potential success and risks.


Work with Marketing to design marketing and outreach efforts to encourage the adoption of DSM measures by the identified target customer group.


Work with Delivery Channel Team to manage the project delivery process including contract negotiation, execution management and /or modifications.


Coordinate information flow to and from the Targeted Demand Program, other departments and customers.


Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Physical Requirements:

Must have a valid driver’s license.


Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.


Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
