Qualifications: The Senior Specialist for Analytics in the Market Research & Analytics section is responsible for initiating, designing, implementing, and delivering a variety of data analytics projects, both ongoing and ad hoc, to help the Company and the Energy Efficiency and Demand Management department provide enhanced customer-centric products and services. Analytics projects include, but are not limited to, benefit cost analysis, short- and long-term forecasting, model building, data visualization, data gathering and reporting. The Senior Specialist understands the various energy efficiency and demand management offers and proactively analyzes and improves program performance consistent with business priorities and marketplace trends. Members of the Analytics team work closely with the department and other organizations to seek creative solutions that result in opportunities for program and business growth. The Senior Specialist demonstrates a high regard for personal accountability and the ability to deliver comprehensive analysis of programs and products that drive business performance.

Required Skillsets/Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree


Minimum of four years business experience in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data analytics, engineering, or related field


Minimum of three years business experience with an MBA or Master’s Degree


Demonstrated ability to provide technical support and work in teams and across departments


Proven problem solving skills, detailed oriented, and flexibility in handling multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines


Strong oral, written and presentation skills


Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive results through collaboration


Excellent computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office


Proficient in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, dimensionality reduction, and optimization algorithms

Oversee regular data collection from energy efficiency and demand management program stakeholders and ensure collected information is accurate and consistent with department reporting standards.


Manage the goals and reporting of the company’s Demand Side Management (DSM) programs (energy efficiency, demand response and demand management) to New York State entities (PSC, NYISO); Federal agencies (FERC, DOE), and Company stakeholders.


Provide technical support for analysis, modeling, forecasting, and evaluation of program performance, budgets and energy reduction goals.


Provide support for preparation of regulatory and industry reports including those required by the PSC, DPS Staff, NYISO, City of New York, EIA, ACEEE, ESource, and others.


Support energy efficiency and demand management program results tracking and forecasting, including data visualizations, presentations to stakeholders and related shareholder incentive calculations.


Assess the impact of program results on infrastructure requirements and operations.


Assist in the development and assessment of solutions to support program managers in program design and implementation of programs.


Mine customer research and program data to generate insight into current and predicted future use, adoption, and trends.


Use analytics results and data visualizations to provide actionable recommendations to the Company and department teams on an ongoing and ad hoc basis.


Perform all project management responsibilities for assigned analytics projects.


Identify and recommend new analytics tools or techniques that could improve timing and impact of results.


Identify and recommend new data sources or databases that could improve research and analytics projects.


Contribute to short-term and long-term plans for identifying needed research project and data sources.


Maintain up-to-date awareness and knowledge of relevant market, energy, utility and technology trends.


Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications: This Senior Analyst in the Strategic Services group will support the Energy Efficiency and Demand Management programs by developing annual budgets, reviewing monthly forecasts and performing variance analysis. Partner with Energy Efficiency and Demand Management program managers to develop annual and five year budgets, rolling forecasts and research monthly variances.

Ensure month-end close is completed timely and partner with Corporate Accounting to verify program balances for completeness and accuracy.


Develop key financial reporting metrics and create a financial dashboard to report on the financial progress of the Energy Efficiency and Demand Management programs.


Assist in the strategic planning and development of the department’s O&M budget, capital budget, and staffing plan in accordance with prescribed guidelines. Monitor and track actual results against budgets and staffing plan and identifies areas for improvement.


Assist with developing annual departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Monitor KPI progress on a monthly basis and ensure results are reported timely and accurately.


Support rate case process, including analyzing program change funding requests, and preparing of white papers, exhibits and testimony.


Develop internal control procedures and conduct reviews to monitor compliance with department and company procedures. Communicate results and make recommendations to the Director as appropriate.


Manage projects to improve planning, analysis and reporting. Drive continuous improvements to improve financial reporting.


Ensure allocations for invoice payments are accurate and complete.


May perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications: The Customer Technology Engineering group of Energy Efficiency is seeking a dedicated professional for its management team to identify, analyze, and evaluate building technologies and strategies suitable for inclusion into the department’s energy efficiency, demand management, and demand response programs. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and completion of analysis for the calculation of energy and financial savings attributable to building technologies and strategies either in isolation or combined with other complimentary technologies on either a prescriptive or custom basis. The objective is to be a resource to all the departments’ functional groups to creatively maintain and develop our programs and the customers’ overall needs.

Required Skillsets/Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree required


5+ years related work experience in an engineering/analysis area required.


Familiarity with building codes and standards is required.


Excellent oral and written communications skills required.


Excellent presentation and analytical skills required.


Ability to interact with all levels of management required.


Experience working in a regulated environment preferred, familiarity with the NY Public Service Commission relating to Energy Efficiency and Demand Response desirable.


 


 


Preferred Skillsets/Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, and/or construction disciplines required, Professional licensure as applicable preferred.


Experience with building simulation modeling is desirable.


Utility, deregulated energy efficiency or sustainability experience preferred.


Experience managing projects and/or design teams preferred.


Associated professional certification, such as CEM, LEED, amongst other is preferred.

Required to understand both the construction industry and business of the customer, the issues customers deal with and how energy relates to their business, specifically how such technologies and measures best serve these interests.


Support the Project Specialist and Section Manager in preparing analysis and reports in response to Public Service Commission orders and inquires.


May represent the Department on program measure issues with DPS Staff, governmental authorities, utilities, and other entities as needed.


May perform other related assignments as required by the Department manager and/or Director.


Will also be called upon to assist in corporate emergencies as required.

Manage the program delivery process including contract negotiation, execution management and /or modifications.


Coordinate information flow to and from the Delivery Management team and other stakeholders.


Present to internal and external audiences.
