Qualifications: Many of the innovated ideas and projects that shape a company’s future are dependent on Information Technology (IT). IT employees are at the heart of these major transformation projects and provide not only technical expertise but also strong collaborating and leadership skills to execute the Company’s strategy. IT seeks to hire a dedicated project management professional who is highly motivated and committed to exemplary customer service for its Electric Operations support team. The candidate will lead the planning, executing, and implementation of multiple complex IT projects while maintaining complete control on project scope, schedule, budget, risk & issues. This individual must facilitate timely decisions to maintain project schedule and budget. Provide management with regular project updates, create and maintain trusting relationships, identify and manage project issues, identify project risks early and assist by providing prudent and timely recommendations for risk response. In addition, the Project Specialist supports, trains, and educates junior staff in all aspects of these processes. Partners with stakeholders to collect feedback on potential improvements and helps create project management processes within the IT organization. This individual must demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment, manage multiple projects, and represent the organization in dealings with internal customers and vendors. The candidate should have high energy level that can lead both IT and business through complex processes. The candidate should possess the ability to partner with key business stakeholders to exploit existing IT investments and look for how technology can be leveraged to further improve business processes. The candidate must be able to lead a project from start to finish and provide insight into the various aspects of the project as well as be able to meet project dates and budget considerations. The candidate must have a minimum 5 years’ experience of hands-on IT project management experience or equivalent experience in analytical capacity, e.g. business analysis, programming, engineering system design, testing. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, science, business administration or a related discipline with an information technology focus is mandatory. Master’s Degree is preferred.



Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. The candidate should possess: • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation and other customer-facing skills • Must possess strong project management skills. Multitasking capabilities to enable effective performance on multiple projects. • Understand the technologies and technical issues involved with IT projects. • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent is preferred. • Strong skills and experience with MS Office or similar suite. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project are required. • Strong skills and experience with portfolio management tools such as Primavera are preferred. • Working knowledge of PMBOK and ITIL are preferred. • Exposure to Scrum and Agile methodologies. • Experience in one or more of the following within the energy/utility sector is preferred: operations centers, electric, engineering, customer or construction operations.

Responsibilities: The candidate will support the project management of multiple complex IT Projects and Programs for new and existing Electric Operations systems. Responsibilities are: • Provide project management leadership for Electric Operations system implementations at CECONY. • Defines project scope, goals and deliverables in support of business goals, and works with management and stakeholders for approvals. Partners with business users to identify and develop improvement in Electric Operations process & systems. • Creates and maintains project documentation – charters, project plans, schedules, status reports, issues list, and change requests. • Develops and maintains standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation as required. • Conducts all project management tasks to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are achieved. • Creates and maintains project budgets including people and material costs to all projects; estimates resources needed and work effort for all project activities and communicates to stakeholders. Records actual time spent on each project and reports on variance between forecasted. • Develops models to depict the consumption and interpretation of data in a team lead role. • Communicates effectively with sponsors, stakeholders and team members. Reports on the status, issues, key activities and any changes to the charter of the overall project. Identifies and communicates resource conflicts. Provides presentations on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Builds a close working relationship with clients/vendors. • Creates flow diagrams, use cases, calculations, information requirements, applications controls, data definitions, or other narratives to depict the movement of work or tasks across various organizations. • Facilitates working group meetings to understand functionality for requirements or test cases for cross-functional, complex processes. • Facilitates development of user acceptance criteria, integration, and other test scripts to completely test functionality being added to new and existing applications. Ensures results of all testing are fully documented, customer is satisfied with test results and appropriate sign-offs are obtained. • Monitoring and controlling of execution phase to ensure that projects are completed on time and meets all business and system requirements. Firm understanding of risk management, particularly in the aspect of Monitoring and Control. • Conducts project completion reviews, resource and vendor assessments and creates recommendations reports in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. • Participates in the evaluation, selection, maintenance and continuous enhancements of project management methodology, tools and templates, and contributes to the overall improvement of the project management organization. • Recognizes when interactions with team members are required and ensures that issues are handled, sometimes directing team members to do so. • Available to work off hours as operationally required. May need to work in other company locations as required. • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required. • Ability to transfer knowledge to peers and train subordinates. • Implement and adhere to Con Edison Cyber Security policies and procedures.



The position requires a valid driver’s license. The candidate must be willing and able to travel within the service territory as required to attend meetings and provide support as necessary. The candidate must be flexible with respect to working off-hours as required for system upgrades and production support during corporate emergencies.
