Qualifications: The Information Technology Department at Con Edison is seeking a dedicated technology professional who is highly motivated, resourceful and committed to exemplary customer service. The successful candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills. Candidates must be able to interact with all levels of management working individually or within a team. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience; or an Associate’s Degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience; or a Technical Certification in IT technologies and a minimum of 5 years work experience in relevant field; or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years work experience in relevant field required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is a plus. The applicant must also have a minimum of 3 years of experience with at least two (2) of the following technologies: o Structured Query Language (SQL), such as Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL o Object-oriented programming, such as Microsoft .NET (VB , C#) or Java o Web Development using HTML, JavaScript and ASP.NET/MVC o Oracle RDBMS development (11G, 12C) or SQL Server (2008 R2, 2014) development o Business Analysis o Project Management • Formal Project Management and/or Business Analysis skills a plus. • Strong skills and experience with the MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required. • Experience developing applications and/or databases. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Must have an excellent work ethic. • Must have ability to learn new technology as required for the job using documentation and other available resources. • Flexibility to work on multiple assignments with changing priorities and stay on schedule/on budget. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.



Any experience with the following technologies and applications is a plus,: Linux, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft BizTalk, and any automated testing tools.

Responsibilities: The Senior System Analyst is responsible for leading system development as well as vendor implementation efforts, from project initiation through post implementation. The Senior System Analyst will initiate the efforts, lead internal IT and work with cross-functional teams as required, engage vendors and company stakeholders, and monitor and control all project activity throughout the project life-cycle. Additional responsibilities may include working on all phases of new projects including planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, design, development (coding, configuration, customization), testing, training, and implementation of new systems and/or major enhancements to existing systems, both in-house developed and vendor packaged applications that may affect multiple department/multiple systems. This individual will work on the on-going technical support of the existing IT application portfolio in Business Systems Delivery. The Senior System analyst will be expected to effectively develop business relationships, managing, and maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders. Work in a collaborative environment, interfacing and developing relationships with groups from all areas of the company – business representatives, IT supporting teams, as well as vendor/contractor team members - in order to perform thorough requirements analyses and deliver solutions that benefit the entire organization. Maintain and support the applications that are used to support Con Edison’s organizations, including Finance and IT. These responsibilities involve working on minor enhancements, bug fixes, production issues, and software configurations. Lead IT team and work with cross-functional teams to achieve all project goals. Manage business/client expectations and presents solution options to business requests/problems. Routinely resolve issues and problem solves. Manage client expectations: troubleshoots and resolves client issues. Support production software operations during normal business and off-hours. Lead or contribute to team discussions. Plan and participate in disaster recovery drills. Maintain knowledge of new technologies, programming languages, databases, business applications and products, and provide expertise where appropriate. Available to work off hours as operationally required. The candidate will ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. For the System Analyst: The successful candidate must have an Associate’s degree with relevant technical certifications and minimum of 3 years work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of work experience preferably in an analytical capacity, e.g. programming, engineering, or system design, including full systems life cycle management, supporting both vendor software packages and in-house built systems, leveraging Microsoft and Oracle platforms. For the Sr. System Analyst: The successful candidate must have an Associate’s degree with relevant technical certifications and minimum of 4years work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in an analytical capacity, e.g. programming, engineering, or system design, including full systems life cycle management, supporting both vendor software packages and in-house built systems, leveraging Microsoft and Oracle platforms. The candidate must have experience testing software systems and supporting system upgrades. The successful candidate must possess excellent technical written and oral communication skills and must be able to interact with all levels of management. This individual must demonstrate the ability to complete multiple assignments with changing priorities while still meeting deadlines. The candidate must be able to learn new technology as required for the job using documentation and other available resources



Strong knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) is desired, with a focus on SQL programming skills, basic database administrative knowledge, and some data transformation (DTS/SSIS) ETL experience. Experience with application development involving technologies such as PL/SQL, VB.NET/C#, Java, XML, and Web Services is desired; Experience with the CGI ARM suite a plus; Experience with full life cycle of project development, including requirements review, design, development, testing, rollout, implementation and training; excellent ability to research, evaluate and recommend technical solutions; excellent planning, research, time management, multitasking, and the proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business and technical teams, as well as vendors and consultants; ability to take directions and plan and execute independently or with minimal guidance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required, including Microsoft Project. Following are the technologies and methodologies used within the Business Systems Delivery: • Mobile Development • Analytics • Oracle, SQL Server PL/SQL, DB2 • SQL Server SSIS • Agile and Waterfall methodologies • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process

Responsibilities: The Candidate will have a major role in daily support and continual upgrade of the existing application portfolio supporting various business organizations – including maintenance of interfaces and data repositories associated with these systems. This position will be a significant part of an application development team charged with the support and implementation of changes and enhancements from development to test, and to production and disaster recovery environments. The selected candidate will work closely with several internal teams, including but not limited to: Technical Architecture, BizTalk, Systems Assurance and Database Administration teams, to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements, in support of these systems. The selected candidate will also work with our core business user team, as well as the CGI Customer Support team, as needed, to diagnose and solve application errors. The candidate will work with users to understand business requirements for existing or new systems. The selected individual is expected to perform unit, integration and system testing, and participate in user acceptance testing. Additional requirements include the ability to create and update SQL queries, package SQL scripts for production moves, troubleshoot and resolve production system problems, or work cooperatively with other team members to either perform or coordinate these activities. The candidate will be expected to work with vendors to support and maintain testing and production environments, performing and testing upgrades as necessary. Selected candidate is expected to be available to provide on-call support 24X7.


Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to follow the company safety, health and environmental programs. Candidate will ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Candidate should be available to be on call 24/7 and/or participate in off-hour system maintenance and troubleshooting. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel within the O&R and CECONY service territory as required. Candidate must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
