Qualifications: Brooklyn Underground West is looking to hire an Operating Supervisor to join its Management team. The successful candidate must be energetic and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to our Code of Conduct and The Way We Work. Must demonstrate a high energy level and promote a positive work ethic and customer service mentality in support of our corporate values and mission. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with two plus years demonstrated value-added accomplishments in a management capacity within Con Edison's various operating and support organizations; OR have a minimum of five years of work experience dealing with installation, repair and maintenance of underground electric distribution equipment. Must be able to supervise employees and manage their productivity in the above listed functions, and possess good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Must have the ability to understand and interpret field constructed drawings and layouts. Must possess knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft technologies and scheduling software. Must demonstrate safety focus and knowledge of environmental laws and regulations. Must be capable of multi-tasking, and possess strong organizational skills to effectively plan, budget and track. Must be willing to learn to interpret computerized reports and determine their application for work-related activities and responsibilities. .




Responsibilities: Ensure that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications and environmental laws and regulations by conducting safety talks, providing support and resources and conducting safety audits. Maintain mandatory compliance and skills training as required by OSHA and company specifications by taking corrective action and giving timely feedback. Interpret computerized reports and determine their application for work related activities and ensure that Daily Crew Activity Reports are accurate and signed to indicate approval, as well as accounting for and approving expenditures for labor, material supplies and equipment within prescribed budgets.



Must complete Asset Maintainer training and other pertinent WMS training.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work outdoors and under extreme weather conditions. Must be able to walk and drive extensively, as well as climb, bend and lift. Must be available for emergency work 24 hours per day. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must have medical approval for respirator fit.

Must have the ability to understand and interpret field constructed drawings and layouts. Must possess knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft technologies and scheduling software. Ensure that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications and environmental laws and regulations by conducting safety talks, providing support and resources and conducting safety audits. Maintain mandatory compliance and skills training as required by OSHA and company specifications, and by taking corrective actions and giving timely feedback. The Operating Supervisor will interpret computerized reports and determine their application for work related activities and ensure that Daily Crew Activity Reports are accurate and signed to indicate approval, as well as accounting for and approving expenditures for labor, material supplies and equipment within prescribed budgets.

Must be available to work rotating shifts, midnight shifts, and on scheduled days off during emergencies. Candidate must be willing to work overtime on short notice. Must have medical approval for both a CDL and respirator fit. Must be qualified to obtain asbestos city/state supervisor’s license. Must have a valid driver's license.
