Qualifications: Con Edison Operational Services is seeking a Procurement Business Associate to join a team delivering on three strategic objectives: (1) Re-engineering existing business processes to enhance productivity; (2) leveraging technology and financial modeling to manage risks; and (3) generating tangible cost savings and new revenue streams for internal partners. The Procurement Business Associate (EP) will have a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Math, Marketing, Management, Business Administration or related field of study. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field of study preferred. One year relevant experience including co-op or internship experience.



Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. Knowledge of Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities: The Procurement Business Associate will work collaboratively with teammates to manage a queue of procurements from requisition to purchase order with an eye on using data analytics and financial modeling to improve productivity, reduce risk and lower costs. Consult for and confer with partners throughout the Company, including Facilities, Central Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Substation Operations, Transportation Operations and Supplier Diversity. Identify and facilitate the implementation of supply chain process improvement initiatives. Negotiate directly with vendors, including multinational manufacturing conglomerates, medium-sized enterprises, MWBEs and startups. Develop PowerPoint pitch books explaining procurement outcomes to internal partners. Work directly with Law Department to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors. Work closely with business users, engineers and EH&S to satisfy pending requests. Use Oracle EBS, SharePoint and Lync chat to manage workflows and collaborate with teammates and partners. Actively engage in peer mentoring, eLearning and cross training.


Physical Requirements: Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel within Company service territory and supplier locations, some of which may require overnight travel. Must be available to perform off-hour emergency buyer functions, some of which may require working extended or non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to participate in Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
