Qualifications: Con Edison is seeking an experienced Data Science Manager to help form and lead a team of Data Scientists, Analyst and Technologist focused on advanced analytics. Con Edison is in the early stages of its enterprise analytics journey and the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) was formed to help Con Edison realize the value of an information-driven organization sooner by focusing on higher priority initiatives that provide greater business value. There are currently dozens of analytics efforts across the company that require the leadership, skills and organization that this new section will provide. This new section is charged with enabling the Company to become an information-driven organization. This position is a Systems Manager level requiring expert knowledge in applying data mining techniques, performing data and statistical analysis, building high quality analytics and prediction platforms to support our business processes. The Data Science Manager is responsible for applying innovative analytical and research approaches to help Con Edison tackle complex and strategically important problems. S/he will become a hub for deep insight to support and enable the entire organization to continuously develop new capabilities and solutions along the data analytics maturity curve. The successful candidate must have a minimum eight years of relevant work experience in applied quantitative and qualitative analysis. Utility industry experience preferred. S/he must have a proven track record leading the development and delivery of creative, advanced, actionable analytic products and services. Must have experience managing consulting engagements to understand business problems/opportunities, translating needs into analytic projects and applying results. The applicant must have a command of analytic methods, tools and data wrangling techniques. S/he must possess excellent leadership, organizational, prioritization and interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills. The candidate must demonstrated the ability to quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of new IT technologies and have broad managerial and business skills including managing projects and budgets. S/he must have the ability to present technical topics to non-technical audience and have demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities. Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.




Responsibilities: The Data Science Manager’s responsibility is enterprise wide and includes supporting Con Edison’s information governance framework, defining and guiding our advanced analytics capabilities and setting policy and compliance surrounding data access and security. S/he leads and manages the advanced analytics staff; provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff; hires, evaluates and counsels staff; sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback and recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures. The Data Science Manger follows corporate disciplinary procedures when required. S/he is responsible to foster a work environment that generates team building, creative thinking and crew development; mentors and grows new analytic talent at Con Edison; develops and implements operational plans to achieve ACE’s departmental objectives; works with senior management in planning, developing, and executing short and long-range goals; participates in development of the department budget; engages with leaders, project sponsors and stakeholders to understand their needs; identifies and educates on where and how analytics can provide the best insights and add the most value. The Data Science Manager Leads the analytics team in conducting projects to provide insight into business needs and behavior, engages in analytic design to ensure relevant findings; ensures application of quality controls throughout projects; drives creative and innovative analytic applications and results; keeps abreast of industry, market and company trends, and partners with business leaders to champion the adoption of new data, analytic approaches, techniques and capabilities; guides business partners on the interpretation, implications and use of analytic results; prepares and delivers presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business to implement. The Data Science Manager builds deep expertise in Con Edison’s and external data. Consults on this knowledge and applies it to complex analytic projects. Identifies data and analytic tool gaps by working with IT teams and business partners, and recommends corrective action; identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and to increase team effectiveness and leads initiatives to achieve the improvements; define, guide and implement our advanced analytics capabilities (e.g., machine learning, predictive and prescriptive). The Data Science Manager coordinates with data and analytic business support teams across the company and technical architecture groups to plan, manage and assess business and technical needs; plans and evaluates new technologies to provide technical solutions for business requirements; provide guidance and consulting to business organizations on business and technology solutions.

Responsibilities: The Shift Manager will supervise the activities of the System Monitoring Group (SMG), Network Desk (NWD) and Mainframe Operations analysts in conjunction with the Systems Manager. They will be responsible for application, network and infrastructure monitoring and communications. The shift manager will enforce change management controls and guidelines, ensure timely, reliable and accurate communications internally to Information Technology and externally to our customers including daily status reports, daily system status calls, weekly change control meetings, and event communication. They will be responsible for working with SME’s to ensure prompt response, resolution, analysis, trending, and root cause analysis. This includes the coordination and activation of incident response, support and development of related processes and forms, routine review of communication procedures, and regular reporting of data. The Shift Manager will ensure that the NOC analysts coordinate and schedule all preventative maintenance and repair work for all Data Center environmental support hardware such as UPS, Chiller plant, and all HVAC equipment. Planning and executing mainframe recovery strategies, drills and processes to ensure the continuation of vital business functions. In addition, the Shift Manager will oversee major projects as designated by the Systems Manager of the NOC. May perform other related duties as required.

The role of Systems Manager or Project Manager – Strategy and Governance will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to make an important contribution across the company as a whole during a very exciting time in our company’s journey. The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of how technology enables and supports business outcomes, as both business objectives and technologies evolve. The candidate must display a strong understanding of company’s financial management and project management concepts. The candidate must possess the skills and ability to learn quickly, assimilate new concepts and think analytically. The candidate must be willing to augment their education with courses beyond their formal qualifications and certifications. The successful candidate will be an experienced team leader who understands the critical role of technology strategy, business process and governance to the success of the company. He/she must also have a strong customer focus and possess effective project management, technology and financial management skills. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will be required to interface with technology managers and business users throughout the company. The ability to synthesize salient information from large and diverse data sources, including information from interviews and working sessions, to recognize patterns and relationships with the objective of defining information requirements, common work processes and operating efficiencies is important. A minimum 8 years of experience in a business management capacity, e.g. business management, technology analysis, project management, finance, audit, budget/cost management, or consulting. Experience with one or more of the following: business process analysis, project management, technology road-mapping, financial analysis, developing procedures or processes or conducting complex analysis using large sources of data. A Bachelor’s degree level education, preferably related to business, technology management or project management, is required. Masters level qualification and/or formal project management certification, such as PMP, preferred. Strong skills and experience with the MS Office or similar suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project is also required. The candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the company’s focus on safety, operational excellence and customer service.




Responsibilities: The successful candidate will lead the Strategy and Governance team that is responsible for developing and implementing strategic approaches to the management of technology across the company. This includes management of the IT Project Management Office (ITPMO), leadership of the IT cost transparency initiative, investigation and benchmarking of new technologies and business practices, tracking of technology roadmaps, consolidation and analysis of related data sets, development of reports and communication tools for various stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall appearance and management of large scale presentations including video conferencing, producing PowerPoint and eLearning programs. Responsible for all corporate AV equipment upgrades; schedules, coordinates, recommends cost-efficient methods for replacement of outdated AV equipment. Develop and maintain corporate standards for AV equipment. Research, plan, design and determine the correct capital AV equipment recommendations. Coordinate and collaborate with Facilities, Supply Chain, Architect, General Contractor and AV vendor. SME and technical adviser to complete the installation on time and under budget. The candidate will perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of RTU, servers and network devices. The analyst will serve as project manager for small-scale vendor installation of computing and infrastructure equipment. The analyst will work with other IT groups to determine a need for any server or infrastructure security, upgrades and will participate in configuring, designing and implementing such upgrades. The candidate will develop and maintain detailed cyber security statistics for SCADA devices and be responsible for working with the Cyber Security team on evaluating potential threats to the SCADA system. The team lead is expected to provide on the job (OJT) training and development activities with staff for technical and career growth opportunities. The team lead will represent Enterprise Architecture and IT in various capacities including projects, programs and initiatives across various business units. Minimum three years’ experience in a Corporate Information Technology environment required and five years’ preferred. Three years’ experience with IIS Web Servers and three years’ experience with Windows Server preferred. The candidate must have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to work with people at all levels within the organization. Must have in depth knowledge of Cyber Security concepts, firewalls and application delivery controllers. A Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience (5 years preferred), OR Associate’s degree in a technology related field with a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience (7 years preferred), OR High School Diploma / GED with minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience (15 years preferred) is required. The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, be willing and able to travel to various company locations, and be available as necessary to support service impacting issues for both IT and corporate wide events.




Responsibilities: Support the Internet/Intranet infrastructure and all its peripheral applications including Firewalls, IIS Servers, and Citrix Netscalers. The support tasks include performing hardware/software upgrades, troubleshooting problems, monitoring system security, monitoring and optimizing system performance, and performing capacity planning. • Develop and implement administrative processes to improve reliability and availability of the Internet and Intranet applications and firewalls • Provide 3rd level support to troubleshoot problems • Develop and execute disaster recovery and test plans for all supported systems • Prepare support documentation for the for 1st and 2nd level support groups • Provide off-hour support as operational needs dictate. The candidate must be available for rotating weekly on-call shifts (24 hour on-call support) with other members in the group • Support Web application monitoring tools • Provide support for corporate firewalls • Must be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergencies. • Manage a team of three to six analysts on daily operational and project work

Qualifications: The Company seeks to hire a dedicated professional who is committed to join its team as a mainframe IMS Systems Specialist. This individual must demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment, manage multiple complex projects, represent the organization in dealings with clients, vendors, and render sound business decisions. Strong technical, organizational, oral and written communication skills are required. To be considered, you must have Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years related experience; OR an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in mainframe systems programming,; OR a High School diploma and a minimum of 20 years’ job experience in mainframe systems programming, primarily supporting IMS (IBM’s Information Management System), including installing, maintaining, customizing, and troubleshooting IMS DB/DC, ICON, ETO, ETOS, IMS DB Utilities and Tools (e.g. HPST), periodically running all varieties of IMS “gens”, and occasionally, performing similar tasks related to z/OS, JES2, USS, TCPIP, and VTAM.



The candidate must have strong mainframe software installation skills (SMP/E, internet downloads of software and fixes), dump reading, diagnostic techniques, and systems performance analysis understanding. Assembler language coding is a must. REXX and SAS coding experience are also highly preferred. Experience with one or more of the following printing and viewing software is preferred: CA-View, CA-Deliver, PSF, $AVRS, and CA-Spool. The candidate must also have a good understanding of system automation controlled by IBM Tivoli-Netview, and CA OPS/MVS, including timer operations, message trapping (MPF, DSITBL) and flow, writing and debugging of REXX code running under Netview and CA OPS/MVS, as well as day-to-day automation problem tracking and resolution.

Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this job position include: • Installing, maintaining, customizing, and debugging IBM mainframe system and subsystem software components, including primarily IMS DB/DC and Netview, and occasionally z/OS, JES2, USS, TCPIP and VTAM. • Installing, maintaining, customizing, and debugging vendor software products including CA-View/Deliver, CA-Spool, CA-Sysview, CA-OPS/MVS, and Netview, etc. • Developing and modifying IMS exits and source-based USERMODs, CA-View exits, JES2 exits, and other modules written in assembler language. Other HL language working knowledge is a plus, esp. COBOL. • Debugging and maintaining home-grown REXX scripts running under IBM Tivoli Netview and CA OPS/MVS, which is serving the 24x7 systems and subsystems automation, z/OS IPL and shutdown automation and other automated events. • Evaluating new software products and releases, and developing project plans. • Evaluating existing software products and procedures for potential improvements. • Providing technical support to the in-house IMS DBA, Data Center operations and application programmers. • Monitoring systems’ performance and availability, primarily IMS. That includes also the collection of IMS performance statistics, using TMON or other monitors. (Some home-grown programming is required). • Ensuring that procedural documentation is current, including authoring and editing software and operational procedures. • On call availability to support system emergencies primarily for IMS and systems automation. • Participate in and support scheduled disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.


Physical Requirements: The candidate must have a valid driver’s license. The candidate must be willing to work off-hours in order to install software changes and to respond to system problems as operational needs dictate. Travel (under 50 miles) is periodically required to remote Data Centers in the New York (Spring Valley, Rockland County and Van Nest, Bronx) and New Jersey (SunGard , Carlstadt) area.
