Qualifications: Network Systems seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic, telecommunications Technical Architect to join its Information Technology Planning group to develop and lead the future changes and growth of our Optical Networks via the company owned Outside Plant Fiber (OSPF), optical networking equipment, and transition to MPLS. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Master’s degree is preferred. The candidate must have a wide breath of industry knowledge and ability to develop roadmaps, system architectures, knowledge of integrating new with legacy systems, OSPF, DC battery systems, Channel Banks, RTU over RS-232, electrical feeder protection schemes over TDM/SONET and MPLS circuit emulation. Experience with Cisco networking products including, DWDM, SONET, Ethernet, IP, and basic knowledge of wireless/RF infrastructure. The candidate should be well-rounded with strong oral and written communication skills, good telephone and interpersonal skills, ability to interact design and operational technology engineers, project managers, and all levels of management to convey a clear understanding of architectural designs, roadmap, and schedules, supplementing visual and textual documents as necessary. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint. Must have a proven track record of relationship building skills, and ability to exercise independent judgment. Must be well-organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines.




Responsibilities: The Technical Architect must be able to effectively maintain and grow the existing network while leading a variety of future looking telecommunications applications and projects. The projects will utilize our Company’s private fiber and optical systems, called the Corporate Communication Transmission Network (CCTN), and support the deployment of new and existing technologies and applications such as Sonet replacement, AMI, Smartgrid, etc., which will include the use of Cisco DWDM, Nokia, MPLS, low speed circuit emulation, gigabit Ethernet, SONET, and Wireless/RF Infrastructure. Requires a working knowledge of IP routing protocols (EIRGP, OSPF, BGP, traffic engineering), OSI model layers 1, 2, and 3, and the network components of each layer. Working knowledge of network facilities requirements and planning required for network implementation and modification. Con Edison’s CCTN infrastructure supports the telecommunication requirements of our corporate internal business customers and operational technologies in electric, gas and steam operations. The candidate will also develop procedures to troubleshoot alerts generated by various network management and security tools and will help in providing 24/7 coverage for the computing and telecommunications infrastructure that is managed by the Information Technologies Planning Department.



• Understanding of L2 and L3 protocols, including MPLS, DMVPN, VPN, IPSEC and the best practices. • Experience must include working Knowledge of DWDM, SONET, Channel Banks and Ethernet. • Must have field experience designing, installing, supervising, and coordinating installation of equipment and OSP fiber cable. • Experience with communications test sets and methodologies, including bit error rate testing, protocol analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and OTDR. • Experience in site acceptance and commissioning of DC power plant equipment. • General knowledge of LAN/WAN architectures, Cisco switches, routing devices and protocols. • Plan and implement future IT development projects, including project management. • Supervisory experience in directing the work of others on multiple projects in the office and in the field as necessitated by business requirements. • Experience conducting performance reviews.

Con Edison is currently seeking a Mobility architect: • Experience required with evaluating, selecting and implementing new technologies that meet needs beyond a single project or application, e.g. development, middleware, collaboration, visualization, information management or monitoring tools, API’s, mobile technologies. Experience working with one or more Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (MEAP) with excellent knowledge in the areas of Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM) and Mobile application development lifecycle • Having a wide array of knowledge in prevalent mobile technologies (web, native and hybrid), industry standards, mobile operating systems, devices, development languages/tools, mobile frameworks, lifecycle management and user interface standards • Developing accompanying processes or training. Qualifications: Con Edison is currently in the process of planning the deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), which will involve installing over 5 million electric and gas Smart Meters. This initiative comes at a time when New York State is seeking to rethink and improve its energy future. The Con Edison AMI smart meter initiative is integral to this very effort, and it is the most influential project in the company’s history. Information Technology’s AMI Implementation Technical Architecture Team is seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and innovative Senior Application Administrator to join its management team. The candidate must recognize the importance of Commitment to Excellence, be able to provide exemplary customer service, demonstrate a high energy level, be flexible, and be able to handle multiple assignments while meeting deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) mission critical enterprise applications are implemented on time, according to specification, and meet performance requirements. The candidate will support assigned core AMI applications such as the AMI Head End System (HES), Meter Data Management System (MDMS) or Meter Asset Management System (MAMS). This Senior Application Administrator is a senior position and should be able to function under minimal direction. While the primary function is to ensure the systems that this candidate is responsible for are up and running, this role will require planning and preparation for modifications to system requirements (including increase capacity and performance requirements), additional systems, and future upgrades. This role requires support throughout the implementation phases of the systems involved, and also the operations and maintenance of these systems after their ‘go-live.’ This position requires an Information Technology Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years working in a related role. Also requires experience leading technology project teams and performing project management functions. Expertise in application administration and application architecture is preferred. The following are also required skills: • Thorough knowledge and experience with the configuration, implementation, and management of monitoring and performance management application technologies. Proactively analyze application data throughput, assess performance and uncover any potential bottlenecks, or problems/issues. Use System metrics to compile data for analysis and identification of system issues. Develop and initiate efficient data collection procedures • Strong troubleshooting capability, including ‘hands-on’ experience and coordination of issue resolution (including assigning appropriate resources based on skillset, ability, etc.). • Ability to conduct and/or support environment related discussions and offer guidance, feedback and evaluation support for various technical options that may be presented. • Considerable knowledge of IT development and support procedures, methods and practices. • Considerable knowledge of IT software development life cycles and implementation models. • Considerable knowledge of IT infrastructure requirements gathering techniques. • Considerable knowledge of IT Program Management techniques, such as work breakdown structures, scheduling, estimating, resource balancing and common Project Management tools. • Ability to recognize, analyze and provide solutions to difficult information technology problems. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Con Edison IT and business staff. • Strong leadership skills.



Thorough knowledge and experience with a broad range of information technologies including multi-tiered client-server computing environments, web technologies, networking technologies, operating systems, virtualization technologies, applications programming interfaces (and other integration techniques), relational database systems and software development, migration and batch scheduling tools.

Responsibilities: •Must have hands on experience with Windows client/server in a large corporate environment. •Must have scripting experience, Dot Net, PowerShell, VB Script, or MS Power BI. •Must be able to write SQL queries, SSIS packages and SSRS •Diagnose and resolve AMI application related performance issues, and present findings, resolutions, conclusions and other relevant detail to IT senior management. •Ensure the integrity and availability of the AMI related infrastructure, and develop strategies to minimize system downtime. Responsibilities: Complies with all Company safety, health and environmental programs to ensure that safe work practices are followed. Responsible for the installation and client profile/setup of PCs, printers and other associated equipment for all new and replacement PCs, laptops, and mobile data terminals (MDT/field devices) being deployed. Acts as liaison between our clients and all groups in Information Technology to help ensure continuity of support and timely responses to issues that may arise. Escalates problems to appropriate groups/areas within an appropriate timeframe. Maintains familiarity with network monitoring tools/utilities. Must be willing to assume a leadership role for overseeing regional projects and to ensure that quality of work assigned is achieved and timelines are met. Willing to be flexible and take on technically challenging and complex assignments when requested to do so. Responsible for performing administrative and procedural duties as required on a daily/monthly timetable such as software compliance audits, IT Facility Inspections, working with ticketing system and developing and/or modifying procedures. Provides off-hours on call support on a pre-defined schedule. Supports operating organizations during corporate emergencies. The applicant must have at least 3 years of experience in project management/leadership and 4-8 years of application development, vendor implementation, and technical support experience. Candidate must have at least 4 years each in two or more of the following: Programming in VB.net or ASP.net; developing in SqlServer and/or Oracle databases, Candidate must possess excellent business analysis, system architecture and design skills and experience. Responsibilities: The candidate will be part of an energetic, motivated, and growing team of professionals responsible for the development and implementation of new applications, enhancement of existing systems, and on-going support of the IT application portfolio supporting operating organizations such as Con Edison’s Steam, Substation Operations and Construction Services. The current portfolio includes both vendor and internally developed systems.
