Qualifications: Information Resources, is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and adept Systems Analyst to join its Technology Support group in Astoria, Queens. To be considered, you must have meet one of the following, as required: • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Information Technology with a minimum of 2 years of related professional experience in Desktop Support, LAN/WAN network support, applications development and software/hardware troubleshooting; OR • Associate's Degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience in Desktop Support, LAN/WAN network support, applications development and software/hardware troubleshooting ;OR • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years related experience in Desktop Support, LAN/WAN network support, applications development and software/hardware troubleshooting. A well-rounded candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, good telephone and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management. Must have excellent skills in troubleshooting, problem resolution and root cause analysis. To be technically sound, you must have excellent computer skills, be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Office 2010, Office 2016 and Office 365), have excellent skills in working with Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7, 8.1 and 10). Familiarity with the newest technologies regarding collaboration and workflow tools, i.e., SharePoint is ideal. Should have the ability to support client requests and inquiries on this technology and offer first-level support and guidance as to its use and applicability. Candidate should be able to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while still meeting deadlines. The ability to troubleshoot and support latest technologies relative to desktop and remote computing, Wi-Fi and wireless computing, mobile field/laptop devices as well as other remote access tools is integral.




Responsibilities: Complies with all Company safety, health and environmental programs to ensure that safe work practices are followed. Responsible for the installation and client profile/setup of PCs, printers and other associated equipment for all new and replacement PCs, laptops, and mobile data terminals (MDT/field devices) being deployed. Acts as liaison between our clients and all groups in Information Technology to help ensure continuity of support and timely responses to issues that may arise. Escalates problems to appropriate groups/areas within an appropriate timeframe. Maintains familiarity with network monitoring tools/utilities. Must be willing to assume a leadership role for overseeing regional projects and to ensure that quality of work assigned is achieved and timelines are met. Willing to be flexible and take on technically challenging and complex assignments when requested to do so. Responsible for performing administrative and procedural duties as required on a daily/monthly timetable such as software compliance audits, IT Facility Inspections, working with ticketing system and developing and/or modifying procedures. Provides off-hours on call support on a pre-defined schedule. Supports operating organizations during corporate emergencies. With some general guidance, provides on-site troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and resolution, and general support for the corporate computing infrastructure installed at company locations. Performs other related assignments or projects as required. Must be able and willing to operate in all of Con Edison's various sites and environments, such as Headquarters Buildings, Power Plants, and Substations. Must be able to provide backup support to Team Leader whenever needed.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and a car. • Must be willing to be on call (per pre-defined schedule) and to provide coverage (24x7) for storm duty, as necessary. • Must be able willing to operate in all of Con Edison's various sites and environments, such as Headquarters Buildings, Power Plants, and Substations. Must be able to provide backup support to Team Leader whenever needed. • Must be able to lift/transport all required computer equipment. Supports various locations.
