Qualifications: The Energy Efficiency & Demand Management Department is a multi-faceted department which has responsibilities for energy efficiency programs, demand side management, cost management, large customer relationship management, program development and market research support functions. The department is at the forefront of a national effort to address greenhouse gas emissions and energy security and reliability through the development, implementation, administration, and monitoring and evaluation of programs that deliver new technologies for electric and gas energy efficiency and demand response. As leaders in the Energy Efficiency utility industry, we stand at the forefront of an exciting time. Our overarching mission is to reduce energy power consumption, improve operations and defer capital expenditures cost effectively and is backed by our commitment to social, economic and environmental responsibility and made possible by our relationships with our customers and our commitments to exploring and implementing new technologies. The Product & Service Development section of Energy Efficiency and Demand Management Programs is seeking a dedicated professional for its management team to support new technology evaluation and manage pilot programs. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in an engineering, science/mathematics, or business/economics discipline, along with 3+ years of professional experience. Experience in utility business, program management, small business or commercial and industrial energy efficiency or demand response will be highly regarded. Experience managing Staff or vendors is preferred and any of BEP, CEM, PMP, and LEED certifications is a plus. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who has some technical and business understanding around energy efficiency and demand management, contract management, and project tracking and forecasting. He/she should be analytical, detail and data oriented, organized, accountable, highly motivated, team oriented, and flexible. Excellent decision making and communication skills are required. Strong computing skills are required including the ability to adapt and utilize Microsoft Office and database tools (such as Oracle and Salesforce) to manage programs.




Responsibilities: The Product & Service Development Senior Specialist will be responsible for supporting new technology evaluation, program development, and program administration. The Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting pilot programs through vendor management, QA/QC, goals and budget tracking and forecasting, data and document management, customer outreach, reporting, and invoice management. He or she will also coordinate internal and external activities including evaluating new measure technologies, marketing campaigns and events, and various other initiatives towards the overall objective of successfully managing and evaluating cost-effective pilots while meeting any applicable energy savings goals. The Senior Specialist will manage specific aspects pertaining to the development, administration, evaluation, and reporting on the pilot programs. He or she will also support program implementation vendor(s), and other contractors, in order to ensure that all requirements are met per the Company and PSC guidelines. He or she must work with multiple-department support teams including Analytics, Market Research, Marketing, Public Affairs, and Evaluation to review and complete reports and make program adjustments. The successful candidate must maintain effective communication with the Program Manager and other department managers, and coordinate the flow of information to and from other Company departments including but not limited to Corporate Affairs and Customer Operations. He or she must learn and apply departmental policies on energy efficiency equipment specifications and evaluation, cost-benefit project analysis, budgeting and forecasting, invoice review, and weekly and monthly reporting. May be called on to support other programs and departmental initiatives, as needed. The Senior Specialist must learn and adhere to Con Edison’s Way We Work principles, Standards of Business Conduct, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Environmental Health and Safety policies.


Physical Requirements: Must be able and willing to travel within and outside of Company service territory, as needed. Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management process and storm plans, as required. Driver's License is required.
