Qualifications: The Gas Operations organization is seeking a highly motivated Executive Assistant to provide skilled, efficient and confidential administrative support to the Vice Presidents of Area Gas Operations and Gas Engineering. The successful candidate will be a high energy individual who is extremely organized, able to handle multiple tasks, who demonstrates flexibility and appreciates inclusion and diversity. The candidate should be willing to learn, be on time, and exercise strong interpersonal skills. The individual must demonstrate excellent customer focus, the ability to work well under pressure, and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to prioritization of and recommendations on appointments. The individual must excel in calendar management and also demonstrate very strong attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize deliverables. Must be able to handle internal and external contacts with tact and sensitivity and work respectfully with sensitive and confidential information. Candidates must have and maintain a high regard for personal accountability and understand the critical importance of superior customer focus. Candidate must also possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and union personnel, and with customers and public/government officials. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years of assistant's experience preferred or an Associate’s degree with four years of assistant’s experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Email, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and calendar management is required. Proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Business Suite products and Adobe Acrobat Editor is preferred.




Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing daily schedules and detailed itineraries for the VP’s including keeping important numbers, locations and contact names electronically filed, responding to invitations and maintaining files of invitations that have been declined, accepted or that are tentative and/or pending. The executive assistant will make reservations for the VP’s air travel and ground transportation for business trips, will screen calls/visitors, maintain calendar including scheduling appointments and meetings, create and maintain all (confidential and other) files; contact other members of the Company as directed to supply or obtain information needed and handle sensitive and confidential information. Will also ensure VP’s are provided with briefing materials for each event by coordinating with event participants and appropriate staff members Assist with special projects, duties or responsibilities as necessary, responding to requests and all other duties as assigned. Assistant will prepare correspondence for VP’s with customers involved in executive level sensitive communications. The assistant will be required to approve exception time for executive team and direct reports in HR Payroll.


Physical Requirements: Candidate's must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel throughout the company's service territory. Candidate should be expecting and able to sit or stand for long periods of time and work accountably with limited supervision. . Must have the ability to work flexible hours and travel throughout the Company’s service territory.

Qualifications: Qualified candidate must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree (AAS Technical/Science) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Architectural Technology. In lieu of an Associate's degree, candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant drafting (Design) work experience which may also include construction management (in a design capacity) and a HS Diploma or GED. The ideal candidate must be dedicated, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and on cross-functional teams with the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with personnel on all levels. High computer proficiency with the ability to perform drafting and design in AutoCAD 2D is required. Knowledge of 3D design and the ability to utilize current computer technologies to render 3D designs is desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), Microstation and VISION are also desired. The candidate must have the ability read, interpret and prepare civil, structural, and/or architectural construction drawings, including plans, sections, and details with knowledge of how to interpret company plates, layouts, field sketches, and other drawings (all of which involve color coding). These also include gas, electric, steam, company mains and services, conduit and regulator plates. Junior Designers will plan, design, draw, map, and/or estimate layout work for the addition of new facilities to the Gas Distribution System. They will evaluate the distribution system capacity and provide for load growth. Applicant must have a working knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural design issues. Responsibilities:


Physical Requirements: Selected candidate must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. The working environment consists of both office and field (various locations) settings. Office work may require periods of prolonged sitting. Field work may require extensive walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and the need to work in environments with exposure to noise, heat, confined spaces, heights, etc. This position requires the applicants to be seated at a computer for the majority of the work day and perform extensive keyboarding. Selected candidates must be capable of using stairs to reach the second floor work location, as there is no elevator access. A valid driver's license and the ability to make occasional field visits are also required for this position.

Qualifications: Leak Survey is looking for a Junior Electrical Technician (JET) to join its team. Responsibilities: The JET is responsible for performing annual leak surveys of the Company's gas mains and periodic surveys of our services. The JET performs high speed cast iron surveys during extreme weather conditions and special surveys as needed. Other responsibilities include conducting visual inspections of above ground gas service piping for atmospheric corrosion.This candidate must be able to read M&S plates and pipe type feeder prints, must have basic knowledge of computer systems, and must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

There is extensive contact with customers, the general public, and municipal agencies and the candidate must be able to effectively deal with them. The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret maps and drawings of the gas and electric infrastructure. The candidate must be able to read and follow applicable specifications pertaining to each job function.

Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Extensive stair climbing may be required. The candidate must also be able to work in tight spaces. Must be capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 90lbs.). Applicants must pass a Physical Ability Test before being accepted for this position. If you accept an offer in association with this posting you will be assigned to any of the gas operating areas (Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, or Westchester). Responsibilities: Will Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Will direct and supervise field forces for the physical installation, removal, repair and replacement of gas mains and services in compliance with operating procedures, environmental laws and PSC guidelines. Ensure the safe, timely and efficient installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of gas mains, services and associated distribution equipment of varying pressure and composition in accordance with operating procedures, engineering plans and requirements of regulatory agencies, including all safety standard set by OSHA and U.S. DOT. Ensure that required training for self and field crews are completed in accordance with the training guidelines and title/position specific requirements, including operator qualifications, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), and Documented OJT’s. Ensure that all workout centers and job sites meet the highest standards related to "Environmental Excellence" as well as strict adherence to all City, State and Federal environmental laws, and the Con Edison Work Area Protection guidelines. Ensure that all field crews, both contractors and Company forces, are performing their work efficiently, safely and in accordance with Company specifications and procedures, as well as in strict adherence to PSC and OSHA competent person rules. Ensure the timely completion of system repairs to improve productivity and work practices/procedures. Will supervise field personnel in work activities, coach, schedule, train, and have appropriate safety discussions with personnel. Assign and dispatch field forces to work locations. Develop contingency work plans for crews in case the primary job cannot be worked. Ensure proper oversight of Company forces and contractor crews. Discuss and/or review daily job briefings with the crews, visit workout locations to verify safety and quality of work being performed, as well as to witness critical tasks being performed. Ensure that all required documentation is accurate and completed within a timely fashion, including, but not limited to: emergency sketches, as-constructed drawings, valve reports, leak reports (50-13Rs), time entry, contractor billing documents, and Job Site Safety Evaluations. Ensure that all required documentation is forwarded to the appropriate departments in accordance with Con Edison specification and procedures, such as emergency sketches to Gas Engineering, Control Room, and Supporting Organizations. Check work locations to ensure that all expectations are being met, and all items are accounted for, including but not limited to: proper housekeeping, appropriate PPE, sheeting and shoring as required, plating as required, debris pickup and barricade pickup, vehicle properly equipped, proper work area protection, valid permits and permit posting, proper controls of material, compliance with all work procedures and specifications. Schedule jobs in accordance with priorities as discussed with Field Operations Planner and Section Manager. Ensure proper area restoration upon completion of job, utilizing appropriate backfill techniques in accordance with Local Law 14, backfilling in lifts, and cut backs. Direct field crews at gas incident locations to ensure hazard removal in an expeditious and safe manner. Notify higher supervision on status of sensitive jobs. Enforce disciplinary rules and regulations. Prepare and/or assist with the preparation of cut out procedures for jobs involving L.P. mains greater than 12" and H.P. mains 4" and greater, in accordance with Gas Specifications. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. The position requires working in all types of weather conditions when in the field, as well as climbing and working in areas of limited space. Must be able to respond to emergency conditions when called. Must be willing to work overtime, on all shifts and be on call 24 hours a day.

Conduct coordination meetings to ensure work schedule adherence and adjustments. Possess an understanding of Energy Services work flows and other emergent gas work. Effective work planning and interaction with operating organizations, as well as internal and external stakeholders required.
