Qualifications: The Gas Compliance & Quality Assessment Department is looking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated professional to join the organization. The Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical, technical, statistical and administrative support to the Gas Compliance & Quality Assessment Organization. The candidate must be capable of working independently as well as in teams and will be required to travel to various locations throughout the Con Edison service territory. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or an Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience or a HS diploma/GED with 5 years of experience. Demonstrated experience scheduling, planning and coordinating meetings, events, and other team functions required. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access) and database management systems required. Must possess the ability to interface with all levels of union and management employees. Must possess informal leadership and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to confidently interact with all levels of employees. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills to track and manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced setting.



Experience with quality assurance, auditing, or other process improvement initiatives preferred. Knowledge or experience with regulatory compliance preferred. Experience reviewing, interpreting and analyzing policies and procedures preferred. Knowledge of and experience with operator qualification requirements preferred. Experience with data analytics and visualization software (e.g. ACL, Tableau) preferred. Experience with Visio, Microsoft Project, Sharepoint preferred. Experience with various electronic systems used in Gas Operations such as Action Tracking, GIS, Byers, ProjectWise, GIMS, Visions, Oracle, and e-train preferred.

Responsibilities: The Executive Assistant will lead by example and set an environment that supports our Company’s cultural imperatives: Safety, Operational Excellence and improving the Customer Experience. Prepare confidential and sensitive documents and maintain confidentiality with respect to all correspondence in all aspects of Gas Operation’s work. Review, proofread, and edit documents developed for the Sr. Vice President’s signature. Create, maintain and track office reports and documents: e.g., invoices, reports, letters and other correspondence generated or received by the Sr. Vice President. Candidates should possess technical and mechanical ability in gas construction covered tasks and should be willing to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions. The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret maps and drawings of the gas and electric infrastructure. If you accept the position of Mechanic B you are expected to progress to the title of Mechanic A and be fully operator qualified within 18 months of accepting the position. Responsibilities:



The nature of this job requires selected candidates to assist in the maintenance and repair of the gas distribution system in a safe and efficient manner. They will perform mandated inspection programs and respond to emergency calls.Candidates will be expected to work safely and are required to communicate clearly with their coworkers and customers. Selected candidates will be required to access/enter customer premises and have customer contact on a regular basis. The candidates will be expected to provide outstanding customer service and present a positive image of the company to customers. Selected candidates must also be able to work various shifts, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as required. Knowledge and skill are required, but not limited to, in the following areas: the use of excavating safe work practices; knowledge and the ability to use environmental policies and procedures; ability to perform standard maintenance functions; the use of hand and power tools; ability to safely operate a jackhammer (90lbs. in weight) for extended periods of time; ability to pinpoint leaks in gas mains and services; and ability to obtain certificates of fitness and/or licenses as required. Knowledge and use of a computer is required for this position. Must be able to work under minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:



Selected candidates must be capable of pushing/pulling/lifting up to 90lbs in weight, working in confined spaces and underground structures, working in all outdoor weather conditions, and walking/climbing/standing extensively. Candidate must have the ability to safely drive a box utility truck weighing up to and/or in excess of 10,000 pounds. Must be medically approved and fit-tested to wear a respirator. All candidates must also successfully complete a physical ability test, in addition to the required written test and interview.

Prior Auditing, Compliance, Regulatory interpretation or Gas Operations/Engineering experience preferred. A working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulatory code related to gas is preferred.

Be responsible for Gas Operations’ CEO Certification Matrix and associated regulatory database. Act as the Gas Compliance and Regulatory liaison with the PSC Staff for Gas Engineering (Distribution and Transmission) during PSC operational audits, special audits and incident investigations, as well as any other compliance related internal reviews. Manage the intake of all pending regulations that pertain to Gas Operations. Identify and analyze pending regulatory changes or new regulations in advance of rulemakings. Work with appropriate subject matter experts to understand the changes and develop schedules and deliverables, in order for Gas Operations to be ready for the regulation change. Project Manage all new or changing regulation requirements: including the development of schedules, deliverables, milestones, etc. Hold status meetings, as required, for all involved parties. Prepare status reports for various levels of managements and external audiences. Participate in external working groups (through the AGA and NGA), as needed. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications: The newly created Universal Process Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join the team. The Sr. Specialist is responsible for leading the continuous improvement efforts in Gas Operations. This role is vital for the successful implementation of a Pipeline Safety Management System in conformance with API Recommended Practice 1173. The Sr. Specialist will play a key role in ensuring all elements of the Pipeline Safety Management System are fulfilled by taking the lead as a process improvement specialist. The primary responsibility is to work with all groups and committees to realign their respective continuous improvement efforts. The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field with 3 years of related work experience or a Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field with 3 years of related work experience. Project Management certification is preferred. Six Sigma or other Quality Assurance/Quality Management certification is also preferred. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in business analytics, engineering, operations or construction. Experience working with consultants and vendors to manage deliverable quality is required. Must have experience managing a cross-functional team with a matrix organizational structure. Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines. Must possess superior oral, written and presentation communication skills and be able to effectively interact with customers, support staff, and various levels of management and union employees. Experience with ISO Quality standards and/or API Recommended Practice 1173 preferred. Extract data from our existing systems and processes to define any positive or negative trends impacting the organization. Generate safety management reports based on data collected and analyzed. Evaluate data collected and communicate findings to teams across the organization. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
