Qualifications: Gas Operations, Gas Distribution Services (GDS), seeks to recruit dedicated professionals who recognizes the critical importance of personal responsibility and are committed to delivering exemplary customer service. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to foster a team spirited work environment in support of Con Edison's Corporate Values. Must be able to balance priorities, handle multiple assignments with changing priorities and take decisive action. A Bachelor’s Degree with three years of work experience in a Con Edison organization Or Industry Organization; or a High School Diploma with five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a gas distribution system or a High School Diploma with a minimum of five years supervisory experience in a Con Edison organization or industry organization is required. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and union personnel. Must have demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to interact and coordinate activities with other departments and organizations. Experience in the repair, service, and inspection of the gas distribution and transmission system preferred. Extensive knowledge in reading M&S plates, interpreting leak history reports, managing mandated work and the scheduling of crews is desirable.



Must fulfill the requirements of the Operator Qualification for GDS within 1 year of accepting the position. Chosen employees from the union that are promoted will be placed on the TEAM program in an operating area outside of their current home organization. Once the TEAM program is completed requests to return to home organizations will be considered based on business needs. Positions are available in all areas of GDS, candidates will be placed based upon preferred work location if possible based upon business needs.

Responsibilities: Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Respond to field emergencies of various types and be proficient with the Incident Command System. Plan, organize, staff, schedule and ensure the assignment of personnel to optimize productivity and meet operating goals. Must be trained in computer applications such as CAD, GIS and Microsoft Office. Supervise employees in the investigation and surveillance of gas leaks and mandated inspections of gas mains, services and buildings. Communicate and advise on work rule compliance, good housekeeping and work area protection practices for equipment and work areas. Monitors compliance with Company specifications, policies and procedures e.g., Operations Specifications, Substance Abuse, Productivity and Environmental Instructions. Certifies, accounts for and approves expenditures for labor, contractors, material, supplies and equipment within prescribed limits. Also orders, coordinates and ensures availability and timely delivery of materials, supplies and equipment. Enforces disciplinary rules and regulations. Emphasize professionalism, honesty, concern, excellence, and teamwork within the department. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. The position requires working in all types of weather conditions when in the field, as well as climbing and working in areas of limited space. Must be able to respond to emergency conditions when called, work overtime, on all shifts, and be on call twenty four hours a day by phone. This is a full rotating shift position including weekends and holidays. Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator.

Qualifications: The newly created Technology Support Group is looking for a dedicated Project Specialist to join its team. The Project Specialist (2H) plans, organizes and executes large project work, programs and field activities to ensure that completion by contractor and company forces is within schedule and budget and in accordance with applicable specifications, drawings, safety, environmental and quality requirements. The successful candidate must possess either a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, business or related field with five years of related work experience, or Associates degree with six years of related work experience, or High school diploma and seven years related work experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or related discipline is also required. Knowledge of the gas transmission and distribution systems and associated procedures, specifications and regulations is preferred. Knowledge of the various processes, forms and computer systems used by Gas Engineering and Operations is preferred. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and possess the ability to render sound business decisions. Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines. Must possess superior oral, written and presentation communication skills and be able to effectively interact with customers, support staff, subordinates and various levels of management. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Experience with project management software/systems is preferred.



Bachelor degree is preferred.

Coordinate activities of project members with that of other departments and vendors so projects are completed on schedule, within budget and with required quality. Develops procedures to monitor and improve productivity of project team members and enhance the quality of project deliverables, reporting results to the Department Manager with recommendations for further improvement. Reviews purchase requisitions and contract documents for effective contract terms. Assist the Project Manager in coordinating the activities of the project team, including peers working on related projects. Monitors and controls project costs and takes corrective actions to minimize deviations. Provides status reports on budget and schedule as needed and elevates concerns to proper level of authority. Provides oversight of employees and vendors and recommends changes as deemed appropriate. Conducts meetings and critiques and monitors all aspects of the projects to ensure a successful conclusions and proper closeouts. May perform other related assignments as required, including representing Company at project meetings with governmental and community agencies, negotiating permits and providing direct supervision and monitoring of project activities. Qualifications: The Gas Program and Project Management Group is looking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated professional to join the organization. The Scheduler is responsible to create and update project and program schedules in Oracle Primavera across all disciplines of Gas Operations. Act as a primary operator and process controls specialist in Gas Operations to ensure uniform data entry into and accurate reporting from the Project Management Enterprise System. The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Management. Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines. Must possess superior oral, written and presentation communication skills and be able to effectively interact with customers, support staff, subordinates and various levels of management. Must be computer literate, proficiency in MS Office required. Candidate must have successfully completed the Comprehensive Project Management Program (PMI ).

Provides support to the Project Managers and staff in the management of various major projects. Act as a primary point of contact and liaison on various major projects. Obtain status updates and coordinate meetings with internal and external personnel. Author and send out various reports. Provides scheduled updates of the engineering, construction and budget status of each project to the appropriate Corporate Executives. Acts as a liaison with regulatory and public officials during project implementation and address potential community concerns associated with the project. Supports construction package reviews, pre award meetings, field visits and pre award field walks. Assists the General Manager with the coordination, preparation and reporting of significant activities on construction projects and programs. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required. Obtain regular project status updates from various personnel including but not limited to Shared Services, Engineering, Construction, and Cost Management. Obtain regular project status updates from established company systems, including but not limited to Projectwise, CPMS, Gas Work Tracker, ECS, and Byers. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
