Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector will supervise Construction Representatives / Inspectors to ensure that company facilities are properly installed, supported and maintained during the execution of work and in accordance with engineering specifications. The CCI ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Comply with the company’s Equal Employment policy and instructions including outside contractors, and government agencies. Conducts field inspections and resolves and corrects technical and field and/or contract issues. Monitors project cost and provides timely and accurate data and documentation for contractor payments. Maintains accurate records, logbooks, and provides data for monthly accruals, schedules, and tracks change work orders. Negotiates with contractors and customers to reach fair resolutions. Maintains open communication with peers and managers, and advises them of potential problems, extras, damages, injuries, or incidents with either regulatory officials or the public.

The CCI will supervise the work efforts of Construction Representatives and Inspectors engaged in all aspects of contract administration and inspection. Ensure that all contractor work is performed in a timely and efficient manner, and in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as the established company standards. Monitors the contractors work to conform to stipulations required by applicable permits. Minimizes quality of life issues for the community we serve and tracks and controls project costs. Provides quality control oversight of contractor activities and reviews and administers billing and documentation required for payment. Ensures work accruals are accurately completed in a timely manner. Researches new methods of performing work to improve productivity and quality that originates in any of the five boroughs or Westchester. Mechanical experience and knowledge should include but not limited to boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, piping systems, etc.), welding (GTAW, TIG, SMAW) and rigging. Candidates should have experience and knowledge related to reading and interpreting drawings and engineering prints. Electrical experience and knowledge should include: electrical theory, conduit installation, cable installation, cable terminations, circuit breaker repair, electrical equipment installation and rigging. Knowledge of Current Working Estimates (CWE) and strong business acumen is required. Project management experience is preferred. Must have the skills to develop those on his/her team. Good computer skills are required including Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project, and knowledge of Company database systems, such as Maximo and the Maintenance Technical Library (MTL). Responsibilities: The Planner will work closely with the Operations Manager, Construction Managers and other Customers to establish work packages and schedules that will be used to track and monitor project performance. Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 1-Updating projects as required and generating weekly status reports. 2-Ordering all necessary tools, material and equipment to support the work. 3-Working with contractors and EH&S during the development of HASP's. 4-Creating and tracking work orders for expense, capital and retirement account numbers. 5-Coordinating field walks with vendors, engineering and station personnel as required. 6-Creating integrated Microsoft Project schedules. 7-Generating final Project Report for future use. 8-Ensuring that all EH&S issues are resolved before work begins. 9-Covering supervisor shortages if needed. The planner will be responsible for enhancing the customer’s experience while monitoring quality, productivity, and ensuring that work is performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Responsibilities: The Field Operations Planner will ensure that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Provide technical review of Gas and Electric layouts for constructability. Conduct field visits and address conditions which could result in construction delays. Act as the direct point of contact with the Work and Resource Management group. Identify and obtain any special permits required and other design submission to address bridges, railroad crossings, New York State Department of Transportation jurisdiction and environmental issues. Determine the impact that work will have on communities to allow time for preparation of plans to reduce potential problems, and recommend alternatives to engineering. Develop detailed schedules for construction and review them with Engineering, Operations and others. Finalize schedules and review the key tasks with the inspection forces and others. Assist with the resolution of field problems and communicate lessons learned. Monitor progress of work and reports status at project meetings. Support Construction Operations with tracking and achieving goals. Establish an effective line of communication with senior management of organizations being served by the group’s construction activities to ensure shared goals are met. Act as a liaison for the Company with governmental agencies and community groups as needed. Comply with the company Equal Employment policies and instructions.

Must have the ability to understand and interpret field constructed drawings and layouts required. Must be able to evaluate, prioritize, and respond rapidly to changing conditions on the electrical/Gas/Steam distribution system. The Field Operations Planner oversees and accounts for expenditures in labor, material, supplies and equipment. The Field Planner ensures that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications and environmental laws and regulations by communicating, coordinating and advising on work rule compliance, good housekeeping and work area protection practices for equipment and work areas. Must be familiar with Generating and reviewing Purchase Order Change Request (POCR) with customers. Successful candidate must have mechanical experience and knowledge should include but not be limited to: Power plant or equivalent components (boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, piping systems, etc.), welding (GTAW, TIG, API and SMAW) and rigging. Also have experience and knowledge related to reading and interpreting drawings and engineering prints. The candidate must have extensive experience and knowledge of mechanical construction work associated with Generating Stations, Substations and System & Transmission Operations. The individual must possess thorough knowledge and experience and demonstrate a strong understanding of construction related specifications and procedures related to generating stations, Substations and System & Transmission Operations. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to construction sites and electric, gas and steam facilities. May be required to work various schedules including weekends. Must be able to respond to emergencies and work in extreme hot and cold climates.
