The candidate must have knowledge of established accounting procedures and Capital and O&M budget processes. Familiarity with Public Improvement’s estimating methods is desirable. Experience dealing with the complexities of various municipal underground facilities is essential. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years applicable work experience with a minimum of 6 years of construction or engineering experience in electric, gas or steam operations or construction management is required. The candidate must have knowledge of Corporate Environmental and Safety procedures as they relate to Public Improvement and construction management activities. A Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) years applicable experience that includes a minimum of six (6) years construction or engineering experience in electric, gas or steam operations or construction management is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Construction Manager directs and controls the construction management activities associated with the performance of public improvement projects. The Construction Manager provides regular interface between Public Improvement and Regional Engineering, and the various municipal agencies, and contractors working in support of Public Improvement projects. The Construction Manager develops and implements the capital, O&M and operating budgets. Engenders positive public, customer, governmental and employee relationships by ensuring effective implementation and administration of corporate policies, programs, instructions, and operating procedures. Establishes productivity improvements by utilizing available resources, coordination, and scheduling practices. Develops long range strategic initiatives to reduce costs while maintaining the highest standards within the Company’s core business and Corporate Values. Maintains and provides appropriate documentation on project costs consistent with a variety of accounting processes. Attends high level planning and coordination meetings with “stake holders” involved in major capital infrastructure projects including NYCDDC, DOT, DEP, EDC, TA, NYS, Westchester Municipalities and various community boards. The Construction Manager acts as a liaison on behalf of Con Edison with City, State, Municipalities and government agencies, and ensures strict compliance with all corporate environmental, health & safety standards, and procedures as applicable. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations.

Physical Requirements: This position requires walking, standing, and climbing. Must be able to perform on-sight field inspections. Projects involve highway, bridge, parks, water main, sewer, roadway, sidewalk, curb, drainage, street re-surfacing/paving, electric underground and overhead, gas, and steam. The selected candidate may be required to work various schedules, including weekend, holidays, nights and off hours. The successful candidate must me energetic and demonstrates and unwavering commitment to the Code of Conduct and the way we work principles. Must have High School Diploma/GED diploma and 5 years supervisory experience or Associates Degree and 4 years supervisory experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years’ experience. Supervisory experience should include the ability to manage employee productivity in the installation, maintenance, repair, operation and inspection of the various works performed. Must be able to work independently and make sound technical and business decisions. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and have extensive experience in all aspects of the electric/Gas/Steam distribution system. Duties will include reviewing engineering packages, estimating projects and conducting field design walks. Will be required to use systems such as Microsoft Project, and MAXIMO. Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and familiarity with Microsoft Project or related software. Responsibilities: Incumbent will work closely with the Construction Manager, Engineering, Project Manager, EH&S and customers to conduct field walks to review logistics and constructability of engineering packages. Duties will include development of Microsoft Project schedules and updating of the schedule weekly. The Field Operations Planner oversees and accounts for expenditures in labor, material, supplies and equipment. The Field Planner ensures that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications and environmental laws and regulations by communicating, coordinating and advising on work rule compliance, good housekeeping and work area protection practices for equipment and work areas. Must be familiar with Generating and reviewing Purchase Order Change Request (POCR) with customers. Successful candidate must have mechanical experience and knowledge should include but not be limited to: Power plant or equivalent components (boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, piping systems, etc.), welding (GTAW, TIG, API and SMAW) and rigging. Also have experience and knowledge related to reading and interpreting drawings and engineering prints. The candidate must have extensive experience and knowledge of mechanical construction work associated with Generating Stations, Substations and System & Transmission Operations. The individual must possess thorough knowledge and experience and demonstrate a strong understanding of construction related specifications and procedures related to generating stations, Substations and System & Transmission Operations. Provide technical review of Gas and Electric layouts for constructability. Conduct field visits and address conditions which could result in construction delays. Act as the direct point of contact with the Work and Resource Management group. Identify and obtain any special permits required and other design submission to address bridges, railroad crossings, New York State Department of Transportation jurisdiction and environmental issues. Determine the impact that work will have on communities to allow time for preparation of plans to reduce potential problems, and recommend alternatives to engineering. Develop detailed schedules for construction and review them with Engineering, Operations and others. Finalize schedules and review the key tasks with the inspection forces and others. Assist with the resolution of field problems and communicate lessons learned. Monitor progress of work and reports status at project meetings. Support Construction Operations with tracking and achieving goals. Establish an effective line of communication with senior management of organizations being served by the group’s construction activities to ensure shared goals are met. Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with at least 3 years of construction work is preferred. Responsibilities: The Project Specialist (PS) ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Will review construction documents, prepare special conditions, conduct contractor field visits for new bid packages and administer meeting minutes and clarifications to purchasing. The PS coordinates activities between the Chief Construction Inspector (CCI), Construction Inspectors and contractors. Ensures quality of construction is delivered in the field by spot checking projects as needed. Serves as the liaison between support organizations and customers to resolve project issues, monitor expenditures, CWE’s, accruals, control budgets costs, and ensure contract documents such as plans, specifications and eHasp are being adhered to. Track interprets and communicates the project schedule to various levels of management and executives. Maintains internal and external department communication to ensure timely completion of all projects and ensures that we are providing a high level of customer service. Prepares and conducts presentations on projects to executives, management and union personnel. The PS will identify, plan, develop, and implement new ideas to improve process flow, reduce cost, reduce operation risk, and enhance customer service reliability. Reviews contractor claims and change orders. Provides field support and participates in negotiations with contractors at the request of the Construction Manager. Assists Construction Manager with reporting of significant activities on construction projects and also assists with evaluation of audit reports and implementation of recommendations. The candidate will ensure that the department meets the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).


Physical Requirements: Position requires a valid driver’s license and be physically able to wear a respirator. The working environment consists of office and the field. Position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Experience and knowledge in gas construction, distribution or gas engineering is preferred. Excellent computer skills are required Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and work management systems is required. Chosen employees from the union that are promoted must complete the TEAM program. All applicants must fulfill the requirements of the Operator Qualification for a Gas Construction Supervisor within one year of starting in the position.

Responsibilities: Will direct and supervise field forces performing the physical installation, energizing, removal, repair and replacement of gas mains and services in compliance with operating procedures, environmental laws and PSC guidelines. Ensure timely completion of system repairs to improve productivity and work practices/procedures. Will supervise field personnel in work activities, coach, schedule, train, and have appropriate safety discussions. Will ensure that all personnel, tools and material are safely and effectively utilized and the use of Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools is incorporated in daily activities. Ensure that all Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) work practices are followed and work is done in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Communicate and advise on work rule compliance, good housekeeping and work area protection practices for equipment and work areas. The supervisor is also responsible for conducting On the Job training (OJT), effective job briefings and documented job site safety exchanges. Will review field employees’ reports to ensure pertinent documentation is maintained. Will complete all associated paperwork prior to the end of their shift. Will certify, account for and approve expenditures for labor, material, supplies and equipment within prescribed limits. Qualifications: Construction Services is seeking an industrious individual who shares our goal to deliver excellent customer service and who recognizes the importance of personal responsibility, to join our Team as a Supervisor. Must be flexible to handle multiple work assignments, changing priorities, and able to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment and render sound business decisions. Must possess good oral and written communication skills and able to effectively interact with customers, union personnel, and various levels of management.



To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a minimum High School Diploma and 5 years’ is required or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years’ experience in maintaining / installing electrical equipment is required. Electrical experience and knowledge should include: electrical theory, conduit installation, cable installation, cable terminations, circuit breaker repair, electrical equipment installation and rigging. The candidate must have extensive experience and knowledge of electrical construction work associated with Generating Stations and Substations facilities. The individual must possess a thorough knowledge and experience and demonstrate a strong understanding of the electrical specifications and procedures, including the General Instructions Governing Work on System Electrical Equipment (Rule Book) related to this work environment. Also, the candidate must have the ability to read and interpret electrical layouts and engineering drawings. Good computer skills are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and work management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities: Will supervise weekly personnel around the system and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with procedures that govern the work. On a daily basis the supervisor is responsible for the safety of his or her direct reports and must monitor quality, productivity and provide feedback that will help individuals progress in their title. Must ensure that the Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools are incorporated into daily work activities. Ensures that all work is being performed in an effective and efficient manner. The supervisor is also responsible for conducting On the Job training (OJT), effective job briefings, documented safety inspections and ensures that all personnel attend training as required. Must be committed to fostering a Zero Accident Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, Achieving Operational Excellence, Developing an Effective Cost Management Culture and Enhancing the Customer’s Experience. Must be committed to the Way We Work Principles, adherence to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S).



Bachelors Degree in Engineering Preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various work locations. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment. Position requires be able to work in a power plant environment (i.e. walking, climbing, standing, working at high elevations, and in confined spaces). Must be willing to obtain NYC and NYS asbestos handlers license if required. The selected candidate must be able to work emergency shifts, as needed.
