A Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Associate Specialist works with field personnel and performs the input and close-out of WRM work requests of Public Improvement managed work. Manages the material ordering requirements for Public Improvement project field activities, and performs special assignments and project related tasks, as required. Manages the work flow of contractor invoices, including logging, tracking, and reviewing inspector field data records and preparing payment folders, and follow-ups. Assists in resolving contractor payment disputes and other bill reconciliations. Ensures that all required documents, paperwork, photographs, etc. are contained in bill payment folders in preparation of submittal to the Chief Construction Inspectors (CCI) for review. The Associate Specialist works in support of the department’s goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy’s and government regulations, and complies with the Company's Equal Employment policy and instructions.

Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector will supervise Construction Representatives / Inspectors to ensure that company facilities are properly installed, supported and maintained during the execution of work and in accordance with engineering specifications. The CCI ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Familiarity with and the ability to read, interpret, apply and enforce Con Edison’s drawings, specifications, and procedures is required. Knowledge/experience in contract administration, contract and material procurement and permitting processes and procedures is required. A Bachelor’s degree and 3 years work experience, or H.S. Diploma/GED and 5 years work experience in the construction management field is required. Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Selected candidates will be required to take and pass the courses mandated for this position and other training such as asbestos monitor, lead competency, work permits and incident command when necessary.

Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector (CCI) plans, directs, and supervises the activities of contractors performing various types of projects for Transmission, Substations, Generating Stations, Facilities and Remediation Construction. Ensures that all work is performed in strict compliance with all the applicable company specifications, standards, and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements. Acts as the Construction Supervisor or as an individual inspector on these projects and will have the major field responsibility for seeing them through to successful completion. Conducts field inspections to ensure that all company facilities are protected, supported and maintained in accordance with all engineering specifications. Must be totally familiar with all of the contract bid requirements/documents, and must interface with design, engineering, purchasing and estimating to obtain any required information and to resolve and correct technical, field or contract issues. Monitors all project costs and provides timely and accurate data and documentation required for contractor payments. Keeps accurate records, utilizing daily logbooks and computers, and provides data for monthly accrual requirements, schedule tracking and change order work. Ensures that all contract changes are processed in accordance with the Contract Administration Manual, and that all contractor performance is reported through the Contractor Oversight System. Negotiates with contractors and customers to reach fair resolutions. Maintains a flow of communication with peers and superiors and advises them immediately of any potential problems, extras, damages, injuries, or incidents with either regulatory officials or the public. Ensures that all company-supplied equipment or materials are ordered and delivered in sufficient time to meet the project schedules. Ascertains that contractors are manning the projects properly, and if not, take the necessary steps to ensure that they are. Reports all infractions as required by procedure and regulations to managers. Takes proactive action to ensure that all work is performed with the goal of zero injuries, and to minimize the potential for any environmental or community problems. Treats all regulatory and/or enforcement officials and public representatives with courtesy and professionalism, and ensures that their inquiries and requests are addressed fairly.

Responsibilities: The Manager ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Directs the activities associated with processing material orders, and tracking material and cable used by contractors as well as manage inventory at the contractor’s yards. Act as the liaison between internal company organizations, contractors and suppliers to coordinate all material needs for field construction activities. Coordinate replenishment of inventory for contractors based on usage and project needs to ensure inventory is readily available for construction. Manage the process to confirm accuracy of deliveries to contractor yards from Central Field Services as well as vendor deliveries. Ensures major material and cable inventory levels stored at contractor yards and ensure storage is in accordance with company storage specifications. Ensures good housekeeping standards are followed at contractors’ yards. Conduct periodic physical inventory counts for each contractor yard to ensure counts are in line with system on hand levels and research and resolve variations over 10%. Coordinate and expedite direct vendor deliveries as required. Prepare contractual expectations for material storage, accounting and security for all Construction contractors storing company inventory. Develop executive reports providing status updates. Ensure the section’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and business objectives are achieved while providing excellent customer service. Work with cost accounting to reconcile between inventories and yard accounts.


Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel throughout the company service territory. May be required to work various schedules, including weekends and off hours. Must be available to respond to emergencies as required.

Responsibilities: The Project Specialist (PS) ensures that safe work practices are followed and that environmental issues are managed in accordance with Company policy and government regulations. The PS plans, tracks and manages all workflow associated with gas construction projects issued to Bronx Construction Management. In addition, the PS will act as the primary interface between the Bronx Construction Management Organization and our internal customers. The PS will provide advice, counsel and training to a workforce consisting of Chief Construction Inspectors, Construction Representatives and Inspectors. The PS will be responsible for overseeing planning, construction progress and proper closeout of all gas work associated with the group. The PS will assist the assigned CCI/CR to implement the planned work in a cost-effective, productive manner while insuring quality, safety, and environmental excellence. The PS will provide technical support in the field and in the office concerning gas construction principles and practices. The PS will provide periodic reviews of gas specifications during business and safety meetings as well as keeping the group aware of any specifications changes related to gas construction work. The candidate must have knowledge of established accounting procedures and Capital and O&M budget processes and familiarity with Public Improvement’s estimating methods is desirable. Responsibilities: Directly supervises the operations and maintenance of transmission and distribution equipment and controls in substation facilities. Ensures that all work functions within substations are in compliance with safety procedures, OSHA laws and general environmental instructions. Initiates preliminary accident investigations, investigates substation abnormalities, job status and equipment functions within substations and submits reports. Plans, organizes, schedules and assigns personnel to meet operating and climatic conditions to optimize productivity. Enforces good housekeeping practices for equipment and work areas.
