Qualifications: Supply Chain is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual as a Procurement Specialist/Senior Procurement Specialist. The Procurement Specialist (1H) will have a HS Diploma/GED with 5 years related work experience; AAS with 4 years related work experience; Bachelor degree with 2 years related work experience. Supervisory experience preferred. The Senior Procurement Specialist (2L) will have a HS Diploma/GED with a minimum 6 years procurement or related work experience; AAS with a minimum of 5 years procurement or related work experience; Bachelor degree with a minimum of 3 years procurement or related work experience; Master’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years procurement or related work experience. Excellent verbal, communication and presentation skills. Proficient in the use of MS Office products.



Strong project management, negotiation and analytical skills. Knowledge of Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities: The Procurement Specialist/Senior Procurement Specialist manages a supply chain for CECONY and/or ORU that is comprised of technical or complex procurements for material, services, and construction and maintenance of underground and overhead gas, steam and electric transmission facilities, electric and steam generating facilities, and associated corporate and environmental services that ensures high availability and quality at the lowest possible total cost to the company. Works closely with internal business representatives, engineers, and EH&S satisfy the pending requests or to determine the long-term needs, considers demand reduction opportunities and resolves complex or repetitive commercial issues. Utilize the end to end sourcing process; including developing RFQ's, supplier bid evaluations, negotiations and supplier relationship management or Handles complex procurement using the end to end sourcing process, including developing RFQ’s, performing supplier bid evaluations, negotiations and supplier relationship management. Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concept improvements to reduce costs or Demonstrates competence of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concept with measurable cost savings. Develop a category plan using benchmarks, spend analysis and market intelligence and manage supplier relationship within category of responsibility including supplier development, integration, and supplier performance evaluation while promoting Company supplier diversity goals. Identifies and facilitates the implementation of supply chain process improvement initiatives. Accountable for category savings targets and performance measures. Performs other related assignments as required by Senior Management.



Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel within Company service territory and supplier locations, some of which may require overnight travel. Candidate must be available to perform off-hour emergency buyer functions, some of which may require working extended or non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as required to various Con Edison and Orange & Rockland Utilities.
