Qualifications:

Our Employee and Labor Relations department is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join its HR Professionals’ team. The selected candidate must have and maintain a high regard for personal accountability and understand the critical importance of Commitment to Excellence and superior customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. The ability to successfully understand, navigate and become proficient in various company systems is required. The selected candidate for this role will have experience managing projects (multi-tasking, coordination with other departments, deadline focused, and strong organizational skills). Must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discrete and professional manner. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required. Must have the ability to interact and partner with various levels of Management and Union employees. Core Qualifications for Associate HR Professional candidates:


• A High School Diploma/GED and five years of relevant work experience is required, Or


• An Associate’s Degree and three years of relevant work experience*, Or


• A Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Industrial and/or Labor Relations, or Business/Organizational Management with 2 years of work experience. Or


 • A Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree with 2 years’ experience in a Human Resources capacity and/or Supervisory experience


 


Core Qualifications for HR Professional candidates:


 • A High School Diploma with 7 years relevant work experience* required, Or


• An Associate’s Degree with 5 years relevant work experience*, Or


• A Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree with 3 years of relevant work experience*.


 


* Relevant work experience includes experience in a Human Resource related capacity and/or Supervisory experience.


 


Additional Qualifications

PeopleSoft experience preferred.


Supervisory experience is preferred.


A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Industrial and/or Labor relations is preferred.


SHRM/HRCI certification (PHR, SPHR, etc.) is a plus.











Responsibilities:

All HR Professionals (HRP’s) provide human resource support to company organizations consistent with strategic needs. The selected candidate will rotate between three HR teams that support Electric Operations. The selected candidate will initially manage large scale projects in addition to acclimating to the HRP role. Provide advice and counsel to supervisors, managers, officers and union employees on all aspects related to the human resource function. Partner with organizations to identify human resource issues to include: staffing and recruitment, restructuring and reorganizations, career development, training, EEO and diversity initiatives, lost time control, labor relations, employee relations, performance management, compensation -salary and wage administration, investigations and discipline. Develop and implement plans to address key issues. Must be able to work in a team environment, and spend significant time in the field assisting company personnel. Con Edison employees must ensure the implementation of company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations. Must have a commitment to our corporate priorities of safety, enhancing the customer experience and operational excellence. Qualifications: Human Resources: Employee and Labor Relations are seeking an individual with a commitment to operational excellence and personal accountability to lead the Labor and Wage Team. This position offers the opportunity to be on the leading edge of HR’s efforts to enhance the customer experience by improving communications and streamlining processes to provide plus one service to our customers. As the Department Manager, you will create and implement new ideas to improve processes, measure success, and present operational initiatives to lead change throughout the company. Core Qualifications which are required: • A Bachelor's Degree • 8 – 10 years of related work experience, including at least 5- 7 years of managerial experience and/or line experience that includes a minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience • Must possess outstanding written and oral communication, presentation, and analytical skills. • Demonstrated experience presenting at meetings and facilitating training sessions • Established experience working with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. customers, peer groups, line organizations, employees at all levels, and union leadership) to challenge the status quo and lead change. • Experience influencing others to raise standards and encourage cultural change • Proven ability to handle sensitive information and confidential matters with a focus on fairness and consistency • Knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and wage-related programs • Strong knowledge of company and human resource policies. • Working knowledge of company systems and Microsoft office

Responsibilities: RESPONSIBILITIES: • Understanding the role HR-Labor & Wage plays in fostering safety, operational excellence & diversity & inclusion in the workplace while complying with our corporate commitment to EEO, environmental, health and safety compliance and all applicable federal, state and city laws. • Supports the Ombudsman’s Office, Business Ethics and Compliance, and Line Organizations by directing the activities and work product of the investigative team by ensuring investigation and report findings are factually thorough, well-written, accurate, and completed within a reasonable timeframe for distribution to the line organizations. • Review union terminations and all management discipline for final approval by Director. Responsible for continually, driving high standards of business conduct and ensuring corporate consistency. • Responsible for the company’s third-party surveillance activities and representation at unemployment insurance hearings. • Tracks, monitors, analyses and reports on HR related investigations and generates statistical data on discipline and other cases that warrant administrative action. • Participates in various forums with other company investigative bodies. • Manages all aspects of union wage administration, including contractual wage increases, matrix hiring, promotions and other increases. • Responsible for the company’s policy, program, and placement of light duty, long-term medical restricted, and surplus employees. • Oversee the effective operation of the medical helpline and the medical grievance process. • Effectively manage KPIs to drive the connection between day-to-day responsibilities and the company’s performance goals. • Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with the union to proactively identify partnership opportunities and eliminate barriers between management and labor at the local level. • Create a positive team atmosphere through coaching, feedback, and development of employees. • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead change initiatives for the organization; communicating strategies, collaborating with peer groups, and facilitating open dialogue to gain buy-in from employees at all levels. • Obtain a Designated Employee Representative (DER) Certification, within 6 months and serve as an alternate. • Perform all other related assignments and participates in committees as appropriate.
