Qualifications: Public Improvement is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team as Chief Construction Inspector in the Public Improvement Department. The successful candidate must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must understand the vital importance of teamwork, communication and promote a positive work ethic to support our Corporate Mission and Values with an emphasis on safety and environmental compliance as it relates to Public Improvement. The candidate must be well organized and flexible to handle multiple concurrent project assignments to meet contract deadlines as required. Must have extensive construction or engineering experience with underground and or experience with the overhead system. Candidate must be able to interpret relevant drawings and specifications. Conducting adversarial contract negotiations and interacting with various municipal NYC and NYS agencies, Port Authority and NYC Transit Authority. Working knowledge of COMPASS, and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. A bachelor’s degree and 3 years work experience in the construction management field or H.S. diploma/GED and 5 years work experience in the construction management field is required.



Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector will supervise Construction Representatives / Inspectors to ensure that company facilities are properly installed, supported and maintained during the execution of work and in accordance with engineering specifications. The CCI ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Comply with the company’s Equal Employment policy and instructions including outside contractors, and government agencies. Conducts field inspections and resolves and corrects technical and field and/or contract issues. Monitors project cost and provides timely and accurate data and documentation for contractor payments. Maintains accurate records, logbooks, and provides data for monthly accruals, schedules, and tracks change work orders. Negotiates with contractors and customers to reach fair resolutions. Maintains open communication with peers and managers, and advises them of potential problems, extras, damages, injuries, or incidents with either regulatory officials or the public.

Physical Requirements: This position requires walking, standing, and climbing. Must maintain respirator qualification and be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) during field visits and to company facilities. A valid driver’s license is required. Use of a personal vehicle to travel between work locations within the company service territory is required.

Qualifications: Construction is seeking a dedicated professional with proven leadership abilities and strong technical knowledge and experience to join its Construction Services team. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate maintenance and capital projects performed by Construction Services’ personnel and ensure that work is performed in a safe, efficient, economical and environmentally sound manner. A Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience is required. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is required. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and organization skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and internal and external customers are essential. Mechanical experience and knowledge should include but not limited to boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, piping systems, etc.), welding (GTAW, TIG, SMAW) and rigging. Candidates should have experience and knowledge related to reading and interpreting drawings and engineering prints. Electrical experience and knowledge should include: electrical theory, conduit installation, cable installation, cable terminations, circuit breaker repair, electrical equipment installation and rigging. Knowledge of Current Working Estimates (CWE) and strong business acumen is required. Project management experience is preferred. Must have the skills to develop those on his/her team. Good computer skills are required including Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project, and knowledge of Company database systems, such as Maximo and the Maintenance Technical Library (MTL). Must be committed to fostering a Zero Accident Culture, Achieving Operational Excellence and Developing an effective Cost Management Culture and Enhancing customer’s experience, as well as implementing Human Performance Initiatives (HPI).



Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred. Candidates must have extensive experience/knowledge in the maintenance of boilers, motors, generators, pumps and piping systems associated with steam generating systems. Experience in substations and facilities maintenance preferred • Experience using the MAXIMO Work Management system • Experience supervising a union workforce • Experience working with Union leadership • Demonstrated ability to lead a large field organization

Responsibilities: Field Project Management: Will review customers’ work requests and allocate resources to meet their goals. This involves understanding the abilities & skills of the workforce, as well as, the management team under his /her direction. Will ensure work is being performed productively, utilizing tracking systems, such as Microsoft Project, Engage and Excel to determine the efficiency of our work. Will meet with customers and the Project Manager of each area to ensure the department is meeting their expectations. Will be required to work closely with Planners to establish critical path schedules to ensure we meet sensitive commitment dates driven internally or externally. Must ensure that the workforce has the proper tools and material to execute their work efficiently, and must explore new initiatives to improve work processes. Construction Manager meets annually with our customers to establish budget requirements for the following year. Field Project Administration: Provide management, direction and technical advice to assigned supervisors so that work progresses according to schedule and meets engineering specifications. Secure all necessary engineering and technical support and make recommendations for vendor assistance to the Operations Manager as needed. Direct Supervisors on implementing work improvement methods and productivity improvements. Monitor professionalism of employees and ensure that programs are in place to ensure compliance to rules, regulations and procedures. Record Keeping: Assure that all time and records associated with the completion of work is accurate, by conducting self-audits. Assure that all major overhaul activities are documented and reviewed by senior management. Initiate post-outage review meetings for overhaul assessment. Environmental Health & Safety: Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected and in compliance with Company policy and government regulations. Additional:

Qualifications: Successful candidates for this position must be interested in qualifying as Mechanic A's. Must have welding knowledge in API1104 OR B31.1 welding codes or have attended classes in a certified welding school. Must be able to complete and achieve welding qualification in down-hand API1104 and B31.1 welding codes. Must possess burning license and fireguard certification. Must maintain all license certifications. Upon successful completion of welding school, the candidate must be able to fabricate piping from layouts, blueprints and mechanical drawings. Must be able to interpret welding specifications, standards and procedures and work unsupervised to complete assignments. Must be able to perform welding tasks and various mechanical duties on live steam, gas and electric facilities. Must be willing to further welding skills as the need for such welding specifications is required by the department. Candidate must have HS Diploma or GED.

Qualifications: Construction Services is seeking a qualified individual to join our Elevator and Crane Section. The nature of this job requires an individual to be familiar with all types of elevator equipment: Otis, Peelle, Thompson and MCE. Knowledge of hoist cable replacement is a must. Must be able to read electrical schematics, prints, and drawings. Candidate must know the theory and workings of AC and DC motors, basic circuits, series circuits, parallel circuits, motors and generators. Must be able to use a multi-meter, mega and micrometers to test equipment and circuits. Strong trouble-shooting skills a must. Must understand brakes, their adjustment and timing. Must understand bearings, theory and proper lubrication. Must have or be willing to obtain QEI inspector certification, NYC private elevator inspector license, and NYC asbestos handler's license. Will be required to perform standard OSHA inspections and maintenance functions on elevators, cranes and hoists. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills are required for frequent interaction with internal and external customers. The selected candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, as required. Must be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.


Physical Requirements: Selected candidate must be capable of lifting 45-60 pounds, work in confined spaces and possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to walk, climb, and stand extensively, and must be medically approved to wear a respirator and all required protective equipment. Selected candidates must be able to work a rotating shift and may be required to work overtime and off hour shifts, as needed. Must be comfortable with height.
