Qualifications: Construction Services is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and passionate individual to join its’ team as a Field Operations Planner for its’ Street Operations section. The successful candidate must be energetic, and demonstrating of an unwavering commitment to the Standards of Business Conduct and a Diverse & Inclusive work environment. Must be able to efficiently communicate, both verbally and written; to effectively interact with field crews, managerial staff, internal & external customers, and agency representatives. Able to work independently, make sound technical & business decisions, while demonstrating excellent problem solving abilities is a must. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and 7 years relevant experience, or an Associates’ Degree and 5 years relevant experience, or a Bachelors’ Degree and 3 years relevant experience. Experience should include the ability to manage/supervise employees in the installation, restoration & repair, and the inspection of the electrical distribution system. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills, an expansive experience in all aspects of the electric distribution system, including installation & splicing of secondary cable; and an in-depth knowledge of the specifications and procedures which govern work on the electric distribution system; including the restoration and repair of street lights and secondary services. Construction experience and knowledge should include; associated construction standards, the ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications, knowledge of Code 753, and the ability to understand & interpret field constructed drawings & layouts. A proficiency in computer systems, including all Microsoft Office applications, scheduling, mainframe and productivity software is required. Knowledge and proficiency in WRM systems and applications preferred. Must be able to evaluate, prioritize, and respond rapidly to changing conditions on the electrical distribution system. Must have the ability to foster a team spirited work environment in support Con Edison’s Corporate Values. Bachelors’ Degree and 3 years relevant experience highly preferred. Relevant experience should include supervision of others.

Responsibilities: The Field Operations Planner will coordinate and monitor field activities associated with the construction and maintenance of the Electric and Gas distribution systems and associated equipment. Coordinates and ensures the timely delivery of all materials, supplies, and equipment; while planning, organizing, scheduling, and assuring assignment of personnel to optimize productivity and meet operational goals. Communicates, coordinates, and advises on work rule compliance, good housekeeping, and work area protection practices for equipment and work areas. Monitors and administers first-line supervisors’ safety, environmental, and training programs; while ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Substance Abuse, Discipline, Security, Productivity, Environmental Instructions, and the Standards of Business Conduct. Committed to the promotion of professionalism, honesty, concern, courtesy, excellence, teamwork, and enhancing the customer's experience among management and union personnel. Takes an active role in the career development of both, management and union personnel. Assumes the roles and responsibilities of the supervisor and manager, when necessary.



Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred

Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel within the Company service territory as required. Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to construction sites and electric, gas, and steam facilities. Must be available to work various schedules, including nights and weekends. Must be able to respond to emergencies, participate in the Company’s emergency management & storm plans as required, and working in inclement weather.



CDL license or abitlity to obtain/maintain same is preferred.

Qualifications: Successful candidates for this position must be interested in qualifying as Mechanic A's. Must have welding knowledge in API1104 OR B31.1 welding codes or have attended classes in a certified welding school. Must be able to complete and achieve welding qualification in down-hand API1104 and B31.1 welding codes. Must possess burning license and fireguard certification. Must maintain all license certifications. Upon successful completion of welding school, the candidate must be able to fabricate piping from layouts, blueprints and mechanical drawings. Must be able to interpret welding specifications, standards and procedures and work unsupervised to complete assignments. Must be able to perform welding tasks and various mechanical duties on live steam, gas and electric facilities. Must be willing to further welding skills as the need for such welding specifications is required by the department. Candidate must have HS Diploma or GED.

Qualifications: Construction Services is seeking a qualified individual to join our Elevator and Crane Section. The nature of this job requires an individual to be familiar with all types of elevator equipment: Otis, Peelle, Thompson and MCE. Knowledge of hoist cable replacement is a must. Must be able to read electrical schematics, prints, and drawings. Candidate must know the theory and workings of AC and DC motors, basic circuits, series circuits, parallel circuits, motors and generators. Must be able to use a multi-meter, mega and micrometers to test equipment and circuits. Strong trouble-shooting skills a must. Must understand brakes, their adjustment and timing. Must understand bearings, theory and proper lubrication. Must have or be willing to obtain QEI inspector certification, NYC private elevator inspector license, and NYC asbestos handler's license. Will be required to perform standard OSHA inspections and maintenance functions on elevators, cranes and hoists. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Responsibilities: Duties include elevator and crane hoist cable replacement. Knowledge and skill are required in the following areas: use of hand and power tools, rigging, trouble-shooting mechanical and/or electrical equipment, safe work practices, environmental policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills are required for frequent interaction with internal and external customers. The selected candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, as required. Must be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.


Physical Requirements: Selected candidate must be capable of lifting 45-60 pounds, work in confined spaces and possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to walk, climb, and stand extensively, and must be medically approved to wear a respirator and all required protective equipment. Selected candidates must be able to work a rotating shift and may be required to work overtime and off hour shifts, as needed. Must be comfortable with height.

To be eligible for this position, candidate must High School Diploma/GED with 5 years’ of relevant technical experience and knowledge is required; Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years relevant technical experience and knowledge is preferred. Must possess good oral and written communication skills and able to effectively interact with customers, union personnel and various levels of management. Candidate must have knowledge of welding, machine shop equipment fundamentals and mechanical rotating equipment apparatus such as pumps, motors, valves etc. Must have the ability to read and interpret layouts and engineering drawings. Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), Maximo and familiarity with Microsoft project or related software and work management systems and project management skills is preferred.

Responsibilities: Will supervise weekly personnel around the system and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with procedures that govern the work. On a daily basis the supervisor is responsible for the safety of his or her direct reports and must monitor quality, productivity and provide feedback that will help individuals progress in their title. Must ensure that the Human Performance Improvements (HPI) tools are incorporated into daily work. Responsible for conducting “On the Job Training (OJT)”, effective job briefings, documented safety inspections and ensures all personnel attend training as required.
