Qualifications: Public Improvement is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team as Chief Construction Inspector in the Public Improvement Department. The successful candidate must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must understand the vital importance of teamwork, communication and promote a positive work ethic to support our Corporate Mission and Values with an emphasis on safety and environmental compliance as it relates to Public Improvement. The candidate must be well organized and flexible to handle multiple concurrent project assignments to meet contract deadlines as required. Must have extensive construction or engineering experience with underground and or experience with the overhead system. Candidate must be able to interpret relevant drawings and specifications. Conducting adversarial contract negotiations and interacting with various municipal NYC and NYS agencies, Port Authority and NYC Transit Authority. Working knowledge of COMPASS, and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. A bachelor’s degree and 3 years work experience in the construction management field or H.S. diploma/GED and 5 years work experience in the construction management field is required.



Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities: The Chief Construction Inspector will supervise Construction Representatives / Inspectors to ensure that company facilities are properly installed, supported and maintained during the execution of work and in accordance with engineering specifications. The CCI ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Comply with the company’s Equal Employment policy and instructions including outside contractors, and government agencies. Conducts field inspections and resolves and corrects technical and field and/or contract issues. Monitors project cost and provides timely and accurate data and documentation for contractor payments. Maintains accurate records, logbooks, and provides data for monthly accruals, schedules, and tracks change work orders. Negotiates with contractors and customers to reach fair resolutions. Maintains open communication with peers and managers, and advises them of potential problems, extras, damages, injuries, or incidents with either regulatory officials or the public.

Physical Requirements: This position requires walking, standing, and climbing. Must maintain respirator qualification and be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) during field visits and to company facilities. A valid driver’s license is required. Use of a personal vehicle to travel between work locations within the company service territory is required.

Qualifications: Construction Services is seeking an industrious individual who shares our goal to deliver excellent customer service and who recognizes the importance of personal responsibility, to join our Team as a Supervisor. Must understand the vital importance of teamwork, communication and promote a positive work ethic in support of our Corporate Values and Mission. Must be flexible to handle multiple work assignments, changing priorities, and able to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment and render sound business decisions. Must possess good oral and written communication skills and able to effectively interact with customers, union personnel, and various levels of management.



To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a minimum High School Diploma and 5 years of work experience maintaining mechanical equipment or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 2 years’ relevant experience. Mechanical experience and knowledge should include but not limited to: power plant or equivalent components (boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, piping systems, etc.), welding (GTAW, TIG, SMAW) and rigging. Candidates should have experience and knowledge related to reading and interpreting drawings and engineering prints. Project management experience is preferred. Good computer skills are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and work management systems are preferred.

Responsibilities: Will supervise weekly personnel around the system and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with procedures that govern the work. On a daily basis the supervisor is responsible for the safety of his or her direct reports and must monitor quality, productivity and provide feedback that will help individuals progress in their title. Must ensure that the Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools are incorporated into daily work activities. Ensures that all work is being performed in an effective and efficient manner. The supervisor is also responsible for conducting On the Job training (OJT), effective job briefings, documented safety inspections and ensures that all personnel attend training as required. Must be committed to fostering a Zero Accident Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, Achieving Operational Excellence, Developing an Effective Cost Management Culture and Enhancing the Customer’s Experience. Must be committed to the Way We Work Principles, adherence to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S).



Bachelors Degree highly Preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various work locations. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment. Position requires be able to work in a power plant environment (i.e. walking, climbing, standing, working at high elevations, and in confined spaces). Must be willing to obtain NYC and NYS asbestos handlers license if required. The selected candidate must be able to work emergency shifts, as needed.
