Qualifications: Research and Development (R&D) is seeking a dynamic and responsive individual to join the R&D team as a Senior Engineer. The candidate must be highly motivated, demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and personal accountability. The candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with R&D stakeholders, customers, regulatory agencies, and various levels of management and union personnel. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills to implement plans, programs and projects and have the ability to influence others to effectively accomplish these. The position(s) will work closely with company departments and technology providers to develop, initiate and implement R&D projects, provide technical guidance, promote the transfer of R&D technologies within the company, and effectively communicate research activities throughout the Company. The candidate must be able to deliver exemplary customer service and develop a work environment that supports teamwork, honesty, integrity and openness and The Way We Work Principles. The candidate must be a dedicated, self-motivated individual able to arrive at new solutions and apply technology in new ways. The candidate must work effectively both independently and in teams. The candidate must have a record of work assignments that demonstrates flexibility and learning new areas and be able to handle multiple assignments with changing deadlines and priorities. A minimum of 2 years of experience of increasing responsibility in a technical field is required. The candidate must have demonstrated good presentation skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s degree required (engineering), with 3-5 years of experience and 2 years of experience of increasing responsibility in a technical field. However the Sr Engineer requires a Bachelor’s degree (engineering), 5-7 years of experience and 2 years of increasing responsibility in a technical field. Expertise in Power Electronics or




Responsibilities: 2L - Engineer The Engineer will be responsible for the ideation, initiation, and implementation of R&D projects in the electrical distribution, transmission, substation, energy efficiency, customer operations and/or advanced metering areas. The candidate will be responsible for the management of selected projects, in concert with user organizations. This responsibility will include the evaluation of R&D needs of internal departments and making recommendations of areas for development. Working with others within R&D and other company departments, the Engineer will be expected to provide technical expertise, project management and guidance for the projects; develop project rationales, cost benefit analyses, budget estimates, scopes-of-work, requests for proposals, contractor selection and bid evaluations; negotiate contracts and recommend cooperative agreements; evaluate results and recommend implementation plans. The candidate will ensure good communications are maintained with the internal customer and the technology provide regarding schedules and budgets by providing relevant research and progress reports to the internal customer. The selected candidate will schedule, participate in, and/or lead status meetings or conference calls with vendors and internal customers. The Engineer will develop and deliver presentations as part of public outreach efforts, internal communications, government communications, and industry groups.



2H – Sr Engineer The Sr Engineer will be responsible for the ideation, initiation, implementation, and technology transfer of R&D projects in the electrical distribution, transmission, substation, energy efficiency, customer operations and/or advanced metering areas. The candidate will be responsible for the management of selected projects, in concert with user organizations. This responsibility will include the evaluation of R&D needs of internal departments and making recommendations of areas for development. Working with others within R&D and other company departments, the Sr Engineer will be expected to provide technical expertise, project management and guidance for the projects; develop project rationales, cost benefit analyses, budget estimates, scopes-of-work, requests for proposals, contractor selection and bid evaluations; negotiate contracts and recommend cooperative agreements; evaluate results and recommend implementation plans. The Sr Engineer will also ensure projects are kept on schedule. The candidate will ensure good communications are maintained with the internal customer and the technology provide regarding schedules and budgets by providing relevant research and progress reports to the internal customer. The selected candidate will schedule, participate in, and/or lead status meetings or conference calls with vendors and internal customers. The Sr Engineer will develop and deliver presentations as part of public outreach efforts, internal communications, government communications, and industry groups

Physical Requirements: This position requires a valid driver’s license. The position is likely to require working overtime as required to meet program objectives and deadlines. Travel may occasionally be required to visit field locations, customer facilities, and vendor facilities as required to meet project objectives including visits to state or federal facilities, trade shows, committee meetings, industry conferences, and/or demonstrations.

Bachelor’s degree required (engineering or physical sciences), with 2 years of experience in a technical or technology policy position.
