Qualifications: Manhattan Electric Construction seeks to recruit a talented individual for its Installation & Apparatus section. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least one year of work experience and demonstrated value-added assignments in multiple organizations. To be eligible for this position you must be a current GOLD Associate. Must be extremely well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Must have strong leadership skills to work effectively with all levels of staff and management. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be committed to provide exemplary customer service. Must also possess strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access & Power Point).



Understanding of various applications ( Banks Off, Vdams, Net RMS, CINDE) required. NYCDEP Asbestos certificate is strongly preferred. Experience in trouble shooting and repair of nwp’s & transformer’s, remote monitoring system , and PTO installation

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will supervise the physical installation, testing, maintenance, repair and inspection of underground conductors, services, meters, transformers and associated network equipment of the electrical distribution system. Ensure compliance with operating procedures and engineering specifications and schedule work and resources to provide adequate support to meet system requirements and meet customer commitment dates. Manage human resources functions, provide guidance and ensure safety and environmental procedures are followed.


Physical Requirements: Position requires a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel within the Con Edison service territory as required, and involves extensive walking and climbing. Selected candidates must be physically able to wear a respirator and work in and outdoor environment in all atmospheric conditions. Candidates must be able to work at high elevations and in confined spaces and be willing to work a full rotating shift. Must be able to respond to major electric incidents on a 24 hour basis.



NYCDEP Asbestos certificate is preferred. A CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications: Manhattan Electric Operations- Field Operations is seeking to recruit a dedicated individual who is committed to delivering exemplary customer service. Candidates must have a High School Diploma and 5 years related work experience in a lead title OR Associate Degree with 2 years related work experience in a lead title. The candidate must possess technical knowledge in all areas of Field Operations, i.e. Fault Locating, Positive Feeder Identification, High Tension Switching, Phase Marking, Protection and High Tension Customer Switching, Unit Sub Stations, Automatic Transfer Switches and High Potential testing. Five years field work experience in the installation, maintenance and/or repair of the Underground Electric System required. This individual needs to have the ability to supervise and lead employees and interact with various levels of management, union personnel, high profile customers and outside emergency agencies. Must possess the ability to evaluate, prioritize and respond to rapidly changing conditions within the Electric distribution system. Must possess a high energy level, be flexible, and be able to demonstrate the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of management and union personnel are required. Candidate must have strong computer skills. (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook). Candidate should have knowledge of relevant Corporate Environmental and Safety procedures. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and Holidays. Must be willing to work overtime to include storm and heat-related emergency work.




Responsibilities: Ensure the safe, timely, efficient and reliable operation and testing of feeders, switches, devices and associated electrical distribution equipment in accordance with operating procedures and engineering plans and specifications. Plans, directs, supervises and ensures the safe, timely, efficient and reliable operation and testing of feeders, switches, devices and associated electrical distribution equipment in accordance with operating procedures and engineering plans and specifications in the Manhattan Customer Service territory. Ensures that field forces are proactive in identifying and correcting abnormal system conditions. Monitors field crew activity to ensure that the company meets its goals in the areas of safety & environmental, outage frequency, outage duration and budget compliance. Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Commitment to the Way We Work Principles, and adheres to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EH&S”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline, and security. Supervise Senior Field Operators and subordinate titled personnel in the location of feeder faults and the positive identification, marking and tagging of feeders and phases as appropriate. Ensure that all high and low tension-switching operations are performed in compliance with operating procedures and engineering plans and specifications. Supervise Senior Field Operators in the operation of unit substations, ATS Switches and all work associated with Feeder Processing. Review and analyze WMS performance reports and DCARS to improve productivity and reduce associated time to meet established goals. Checks for proper accounting of WMS unit codes and account numbers. Utilize computer systems as necessary to schedule work to include WMS / Logica applications, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ensure that subordinates’ work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Drive continuous improvement to ensure all direct reports strive to accomplish corporate goals. Participate in personal development and the development of direct reports in order to cultivate a culture of valuable and flexible resources for the organization. Celebrate success through rewarding and recognizing exemplary work performance. Recognize and develop a course of action to correct poor work performance of direct reports. Ensure compliance with the provisions of Corporate Instruction 120-1 “Performance of Field Forces” and the Code of Conduct manual. Instill a customer service orientation among subordinates. Provide a workplace environment that fosters professionalism, honesty, concern, courtesy, excellence and teamwork.
